  • love it love it love it!

  • its good but its too slow

  • Im in a 7th grade choir and i say we are an ok group. The 8th grade choir sang this song and they were ok.Then when i herd this, i thought wow.........we need to be like them

  • i am currently singing this in my choir i have only one complaint about this video or shall i say te choir siging in the video, when the tenors sing im going to live with god towards the end they do it way to softly but aside from that absoloutley fantastic preformance

  • well done!

  • Very nice.

  • This is AMAZING!! Yall tone is awesome and yall blend soo well! Great performance! XD

  • This is one of my favorite choral pieces. It is very hard to do right. Congrats to you. Your choir overall has a very nice sound! What a great blend! Everything is very balanced. Very powerful mens section!

    GREAT JOB.

  • 5 stars

  • my choir's singing this song for our fall concert, i'm an alto but that high note is so pretty, i wanna sing it!!!

  • this is so good, i'm gonna sing this in my choir but i think we're going a little faster. i hope we'll be that good

  • wow the was perfect. just beautiful! i sung this song in high school too and it is not an easy song to sing! i wish someone would have hit that very high note at the end! i've never heard the end with that note and would love to hear it! but that performance was right on the money!

  • I love this version. It sounds most like what we've done back when I was in High School. Thanks for sharing! (Takes me back to those days. lol) I'm just feeling nostolgic...

  • i sang this in college, first tenor, what memories, thanks for sharing, except we started at a faster tempo.

  • very, very nice. I remember this in church & in Honor Choir...very nice.

  • This is wonderfull. Thank you for sharing this.

  • I really want to sing this song...i love your contrast and you sound very mature. i love listening to this =D

  • aymoooo

  • great :) we sing the same version but without the slow part. and sopranos are amazing ;)

  • Love it!

  • Our chamber choir sang this song except 100x faster.

    WOW. It was great!

  • Awesome rendition! The basses are spectacular, and the sopranos are absolutely amazing. :D

  • YES!!!!!!!

  • even though i'm atheist, this is still an incredible song

  • We took it faster, but when it is sung slower like this, the emotional impact is greater.

  • the basses are really good at coming in strong.

  • i sang this tonight with my choir, and we did phenomenal, but still not as good as this.

  • 5 Star Dont disable rating!!!

  • Phenomenal!!!

  • This is amazing. Tears.

  • wow this is a highschool?!!! I seriously had chills congrats.

  • freakin awesome. we have the same version

  • My vocal choir is doing this song, but we don't sound near as good as them....also were alot smaller

  • when my choir did this we had 103 people and we went fast the enitre time. I love this song!

  • Fantastic job-the slowed down verses did nothing for me, but I find that the rest of the piece was at an excellent tempo-this one is so often rushed.

  • Wow, this is awesome. As a Tuskegee University Alumnus, I am ecstatic at your rendition of William Dawson's music.

  • This was a fucking fantastic performance and arrangement-- my god that was so well done!

  • I did this in high school with my large A Capella choir. It's very near & dear to me! This is by far the best arrangement I've ever heard. I have to keep reminding myself this is a high school choir! I love where notes are held and where they're not. I think it's just perfect. I know this video is a few years old, but I hope y'all patted yourselves on the back! Well done!

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. What a great arrangement of a classic. Phenomenal dynamics.

  • my choir just sang this song

    and omnia sol

but i think it sounds good, but just a little rushed

    anyone else think this?

  • We did this song at a 136 tempo, so no I don't think so.

  • My choir is doing this right now and I wish we were half as good as this.

Like everyone else has said the diction is amazing and the dynamics are fantastic.

    Love it!

  • Our HS Choir is gonna sing this song next Monday... CANT WAIT!!! ...on(10/6/2008)

  • nice diction!!!

  • B.E.A. utiful

  • we're doing this for choir, it made me cry when we sang it softly..

:/ but i love it, its so sad!

  • we're singing this song in choir right now...our tempo is similar to what you guys do when the basses come in with that kickin part they have...

your choir has fantastic diction and the dynamic contrast is huge i love it!

  • i love this song. my high school choir did this, and i did a ttbb version with my all-county choir. for some reason i always get chills when i hear this song.

  • Dee - AM!

  • my chior actually sang this last year. and we sang it fast the whole way through. but we had also already done this song for an honor chior and we went antagonizingly slow (like the begginging) right after the whole "no more" section and it was amazing. i just wished my director would've kept it that way as well. . .

  • Wow, this is a really great performance! The blend is fantastic and I love the dynamic and rhythmic contrasts.

  • I remember my school choir did this song and up to now, I still think this song is amazing. We sang it with a more blues like appeal but this version is great too. Thank God for versatility.

  • My choir did this too. this song totally rocks! :)

  • my choir did this piece. ours was all one tempo. i like the variation in this. plus, those tenors and basses rock.

  • I love this song--very powerful. The choir that I perform with will be singing this in Scotland. Love the rhythmic variation.

  • we did this song in an all guys ensemble!!

    it was awesome!!

this is now one of my favorite songs!!

  • I have never had more fun singing a song as much as when I sang this song at districts. It was so amazing!

  • this is absolutely outstanding. this is probably my favorite choral performance song, and you guys nailed it. your basses are phenominal, and the sopranos hit every high note dead on. FABULOUS.

  • we're singing this too but not nearly as advanced as this...this is amazing!! <3

  • Our choir (TTBB) is doing this right now so it sounds a bit different but you guys are amazing, just to let you know

  • gotta say, you guys rocked it! Love it :D

  • Love the dynamics - great soft notes and transitions between loud and soft. Examples: 1:35 thru 1:45 and 3:30 thru 3:45. Too many performances don't get quiet enough. Very nice!

  • I performed this song with my school choir and you all are dead on. Your basses and tenors are excellent!

  • The emphasis on your dynamics is great, same with the flow of the song. I did this at a four county honors choir program last year and the director had us put a great amount of emphasis on the 's' of soon-ah, 'd' of done 'de' and 'tre', etc., almost like a sforzando with strong accents. But you guys did a great job.

  • very very amazing, i love how u make the song move! Great

  • Good job! I like the slow start. Reminds me of the St. Olaf Version. You are doing a wonderful job.

  • The men in this song are absolutley amazing. This was obviously picked by your director to showcase the men part. The women sound good (They go sharp once or twice), but the men are dead on. Great job!

  • try our version, tsc the singing christians. thanks

  • wow pretty robes...

  • Awesome, we did this song when I was in highschool too, and I loved it.

  • oh wow! the Man/guy sound in this is just amazing, it gave me chills! that was pretty much fantastic.

  • Wow, this is one of the best ones yet. My choir is doing this song this year, and being a soprano, this'll help a lot. At the end, the only thing my director is doing different is adding that high C. I think it's a good touch.

    Very nice job. =]

  • Great interpretation of this piece. It is challenging to make this piece mean something rather than just fast and loud. Congrats!

  • Holy freakin crap that was amazing. You should give you director a hug!

  • Really good; by the end, however, they starting going sharp! Other than that, a really moving performance! ^_^ KUDOS

  • I wish they did the " (bass)No more weeping" section as a solo bass and a solo tenor at the part where the tenor's sing I'm going to live with God before the ending.....I've had the pleasure of singing this with Moses Hogan directing and it was awesome!!!

  • i disagree with zanebeima about there being too much bass. i've performed this song twice with 2 different all state directors and i think the bass is what grounds the song. beautiful rendition! :) i love performing this song :)

  • Too much bass??? But still great blend, tone and intonation.

  • I sang this song at the GA allstate in Feb. 2007. I sang it in a mens choir though.

  • pretty good!

  • These are a very talented group of young people . Shinning a very wonderful light on this town called Central Islip. This peice is one of the many i have had thre pleasure to hear live . They are truly astounding.
