  • by far the best eel that can go in a freshwater tank

  • I have a very large 24" gymnothorax tile that is about as big around as the small redbull cans. He has been in my predatory Amazonian biotope with a relative specific gravity of 1.008 at 79.5 degrees fahrenheit and a ph of 7.8. Regardless of what anyone may say, he is close to being fully mature (a guess considering size and age) and he is thriving. They do not necessarily need full marine conditions. Just look at those massive bullsharks that live in full fresh.

  • That's not a freshwater moray eel. That's a scam. They are true marine moray eels. They are born in fresh water and the survivors make it back to the ocean where they can mature. Yours is young but someday soon will need 1.024 salinity... Sorry you got taken... I almost made the same mistake at my LFS. If you want a BRACKISH water moray eel look-alike look into pink paddle-tail eels aka purple spaghettie eels. ;) They do ok in fresh.

  • Whats the Music title?

  • ur eel should be in brackish water.. if you keep them in freshwater too long it shortens their life spans.. by A LOT.

  • waht did you feed it?

  • how long have you had the eel

  • feb it will be a year but they are cyclical eaters so dont stress if they dont eat for 3months. at the moment he hasnt eaten for 2months now.

  • how big of a tank do u got?

  • @davidmodelct really? how do they survive that long without eating? sorry but I'm worried about my own eels...dont know if they're feeding or not

  • i want to have its babies

  • eeeelie rocks my socks off!!!
