I gave my cat baths when she was younger. She had lived outside till I got her and "flea dirt" ( dried blood the fleas expel) was something that took a bit of work to remove. Now she's 5 years old and Dosen't mind having a bath, So I give her one every few months. It's a good thing I think, to have a tourough deep cleaning in addition to the normal everyday cleaning she does. Kinda like a carpet, You vaccuum it and do spot cleaning if it gets dirty, and deep clean once in a while.

Pretty much any vet will tell you that it's okay to bathe your cat every once in a while as long as you use the special cat shampoo. Other than that...some cats actually enjoy it. I'm sure the water doesn't hurt them so why not let them play every once in a while? I only bathe my cat when he starts getting particularly stinky...or has fleas.

She hates being given baths. Sometimes if I'm running a bath she'll hop in. She especially loves if I put in some of the toys my boyfriend's daughter uses at bath time.
