I already had to be put on a waiting list lasting 3 months to see a specialist I needed to see for an emergency appointment, I had to make it instead with the nurse practitioner at my local family doctor's office, I am dreading the long waits on all areas of the spectrum when the bill takes full swing in "14. @bucjason I have a pre-existing condition that is no fault of mine. I got it at work because of the negligence of another employee. Do you think that is right? Should I have the company or the person that caused the accident pay for my leg? Insurance companies will not cover me because of this condition. I do not bitch about it because it does me no good. But if I when I have to have it worked on again, it would very nice for it to be coved under insurance & not out of pocket.

Your analogy about car insurance is wrong. If you are in a crash & you have no insurance & at fault, your car does not get fixed. You are sued for having poor judgement, etc. If you the victim of a crash the same thing applies, except if both have insurance. State law requires ever driver to have insurance. Not Federal law, State Law.

I work in the health care industry (public sector) and any new policies that impact medicaid in the state I work for must go to public forum before they can be passed and this is at the state/local level.

The best of the three GOP bills pretty much covers the complaints people have, requiring people with pre-existing conditions have care, that they can't be dropped when they have a condition, and lowering overhead costs.

@bucjason I have a pre-existing condition that is no fault of mine. I got it at work because of the negligence of another employee. Do you think that is right? Should I have the company or the person that caused the accident pay for my leg? Insurance companies will not cover me because of this condition. I do not bitch about it because it does me no good. But if I when I have to have it worked on again, it would very nice for it to be coved under insurance & not out of pocket.

Your analogy about car insurance is wrong. If you are in a crash & you have no insurance & at fault, your car does not get fixed. You are sued for having poor judgement, etc. If you the victim of a crash the same thing applies, except if both have insurance. State law requires ever driver to have insurance. Not Federal law, State Law.

Quality doesn't necessarily coincide with quality. In many cases, the two are on opposite ends.
The best of the three GOP bills pretty much covers the complaints people have, requiring people with pre-existing conditions have care, that they can't be dropped when they have a condition, and lowering overhead costs.
Now, if you feel like reading 1990 pages of legalese to try and describe how HR 3962 is better, by all means, GO FOR IT!
Maybe you'll finish before it takes effect in 2013.

Jesus was not a socialist. According to biblical history, the money-changers in the temple controlled the exchange rate between the half-shekel and the denarius and so held a monopoly on temple sacrifices. They were in collusion with the Scribes and the Pharisee.
Jesus condemned them for making life oppressively difficult for poor widows. He forcibly threw them from the temple, and prevented it's further use as a market. It was this opposition to fascism which got him killed.

The thing people forget about is that, on the rock, with the bread and fish, he didn't redistribute the food that people had, so those that earned their meal have to feed those that didn't, he was generous, and fed everyone, without taking food or goods away from anyone else there.

He also never spoke out in condemnation of property rights or the class structure which are two central themes of socialism. He reserved his criticism for totalitarianism alone.
Besides, Socialism was invented by atheists. The left Hegelians (of whom Marx was one) blamed religion for the class division in society, so clearly Jesus was not one.
The central issue of Economics is supply limitation, which was Adam's curse in Genesis. If Jesus didn't have this limitation, the point is moot.

The Romans weren't socialists. He mostly ignored them. Jesus & Pilate both suggest it was a volatile situation, as the revolt of 66 attests.
Judea had a market economy. Judaism endorsed this, and Jesus didn't protest it. There was also western influence, so he may have been familiar with Aristotle. Almost all of his parables were of 'economic' ethics.
He allegedly had worked as a carpenter. Although he didn't carry money himself, he did pay a tribute & his apostles bought\sold goods.

You didn't specify what you were saying about the Romans, so it was anyone's guess what you meant. In any case, Jesus was not at odds with them. He even says so in his meeting with Pilate. Almost everything he said of the Romans admonished the catastrophic revolt of 66.
His wasn't a new trend in desert fashion. He was a Jew, not a hippy. We don't know what he looked like.
