Ask any manager or leader how important esprit de corp is. Propaganda presents one side of an issue, which makes it intellectually dishonest, but entirely false.

Even Locke in his explication of private property includes that caveat that there must be enough left over for everyone else. If you are going to live in a political state, a state provides a platform for collective decision making. There is nothing immoral about collectively deciding that there should be a floor to individuals' standard of living in society. The argument assuming that decreases the incentive to work is completely untrue. People work for status. The vast majority of private consumption has nothing to do with meeting basic needs.

Blaming the poor for the poverty is often adding insult to initial injury. The dogmatic libertarian faith in the market to reflect just outcomes is misplaced. In the current game of musical chairs (for jobs) there are more and more people that are just going to be screwed, by definition.

Interesting, and something you might want to look into, since I believe that is the one you claim was an award winner. You are listed as the writer in some places, but it is not in others.
