i been racking my brain for months thinking of other words you could use the way he uses the words, turnin,, turnin, turnin, turn in... fallin, fallin, fallin, fall in.....
Amazon Mp3 actually introduced me to this album. They really surprise me with their picks sometimes but this was a great pick! Great beat and lyrics. His voice kind of reminds me of Aaron Neville lol
@jdebruynviolin As far as I'm concerned, I really think that these kinds of songs are some of the best. I really like how the voice stays almost exactly the same the whole time but the music changes a lot.
anxiety kills me only to see the concentration of the other musicians to keep up with James. Amazing musicians. What a pretty strong session tho, isn't?...
@adrsya The genre of weird people on the background not having any fun pretending to be superior than everyone around them because they enjoy a different type of music
@Rocky183 You must have serious mind-reading skills. Assuming all that only by getting a glimpse at the crowd every now and then.. not even having been there. So I guess yes: Every person interested in music other than what plays on the radio is a hipster. *yawn* The only thing more annoying than ACTUAL hipsters are people calling out every person that don't fit into their press mold.
@adrsya I'm not making assumptions out of nothing. The kids in the background certainly aren't punks, metalheads, or Bieber fans. The music really feels like the pretentious art project music that hipsters are famous for, being composed of a grand total of around 20 different words and the people on the background dress the way hipsters dress
@Rocky183 "[...] metalheads, or Bieber fans". I guess everyone else is a hipster then. I really don't feel like I need to point out the close-mindedness of your comment. If you truly believe that you need to be a hipster to enjoy the simplicity and abstractness of James Blake's music, I am not going to burst the bubble you call reality. All I see are 3 insanely talented musicians and some casually dressed kids who are interested in this kind of music. If it's not your thing, feel free to move on.
@adrsya You people would make your lives much easier if you just admitted to being hipsters instead of keeping up this struggle to avoid being labeled.
@Rocky183 Why would they be hipsters cause of the music they listen to or the clothes they wear??? People are hipsters when they are douchbags/dick-heads, and think they're better than everyone else. You didn't hear or see anyone of those people in the crowd talk or act like that. You just saw their clothes.
@Rocky183 so you're bracketting people then - thats really really sad, that you're so preoccupied by image and whats cool/not cool...you sounds more 'hipster' than anyone else
@SoapSudz101 If you google search "What equipment does James Blake use?" You will find the answer. I don't understand why anyone asks such questions on youtube when you are already using the power of the internet, the ability to search the answer yourself and get an answer much faster.
A good friend of mine came into the room while I was listening to this song and he said "Is that R. Kelly? It sounds emo." ...-_- FML. So few of my friends appreciate the music I listen to...and that saddens me.
@SethGoTribe Choose one? Really? It's not even a matter of ME choosing one. Did you not understand my comment or something? It was a friend of mine that said that, not me.
@napalmocean I know exactly how you feel... I have very few friends who have the same taste in music as I do and dismiss it on the spot because it doesn't sound like the Top 40 stuff that a lot of them listen to. I really think that people need to listen to music with an open mind. Every song I listen to, whether its a genre or artist I don't particularly like, I listen to without bias, and that inevitably leads to finding hidden gems like James.
I love the progression of sound in a song, making it seem like an over-abundance of sound then the sudden calming of the music...and never before have I heard that effect used so beautifully. James Blake is an amazing musician. I hope to reach his caliber of musical talent.

Man, I finally listened to James Blake after reading about him 100 times on Pitchfork. This stuff is absolutely incredible. His record is mind blowing.
Also, that keyboard riff sounds cool on guitar. That was a cool idea. I would not have thought this would be this cool live.
Really enjoying Jame's stuff at the moment - fresh and new sound!
Sorry to plug but I'm a band which has just set up a youtube account and are trying to get our stuff heard - we're inspired by contemporary music like this and would really appreciate anyone taking a moment to have a listen! We're looking to play a few of the UK festivals this summer and planning to get some more live tracks up on our page very soon!
Absolutely bowled over by James Blake--and this guy's trajectory is paralleling Elton John's when he first surfaced--Brit piano prodigy with eerily emotional singing voice making his way across the U.S. for the first time...playing small rooms where he converts every listener...eventually landing at West Hollywood's Troubadour next Monday night...and I am counting down the hours til I get to witness his official coming out party there. Maybe Elton will show up to cheer him on.
Right now in my life...I feel stuck. I have put myself in a fucked up situation, but thank god for James Blake. His music is exactly what I need. I love this man. He keeps me afloat when I just want to quit on life. I am so sad, but I have to keep on.. and his music helps me to do that. You will never read this, but know that you have atleast saved one life.
@newera129 keep on keeping on, all you have is time, and eventually you are somewhere else. Peaks and valleys in life.. the only problem is that the peaks are far narrower than the valleys. Sometimes its just nice to find flat earth for a while. You can't get to the peaks though without the lows.
