  • Nice maiden flight,

  • Great video.

I'm waiting for a Skywalker. My next additions for the plane will be the Ardupilot Mega and Oil&Pan with GPS in order to achieve autopilot and Return To Home. Like you I don't want to lose my future plane.

  • Awesome! Looks like a great flyer? Did you get a DragonLink system?

  • @schraut5 No, not yet. Since I switched to 72mhz I think I can get plenty of range for my immediate flying goals. I think with the range limit of my 200mw video, the 72mhz is more than enough. I think my next additions for the Skywalker will be the FY31 autopilot and a pair of Fatsharks. Mostly, I am hesitant to venture out too far without the autopilot with Return to Home. I really don't want to lose this plane.

  • 5000 mah and when in parallel up to 10,000 mah with 40min + flight

  • @BankheadRC Thanks, I think before I replace the motor, I am going to try a couple of different props to see if I can get the amp draw down a bit.

  • Hey great maiden fight. Looks good from here. Anxious to see what comes next.

  • @purepurebliss Thanks much. Next I'll be bringing my new FPV kit out for some trials. I two or three new plane builds coming soon. Thanks for watching.

  • Where did you buy your skywalker from?

  • @IbnAir23 It is the one from HobbyKing's USA warehouse. It is version 4 which is the last version with two main wing spars. The newer ones have one aluminum spar, I think.

  • Great maiden flight. Try a 980kv or 870kv on a 4s setup and you shuld be ok. I get a solid 20min flight with half throttle engine run the whole 20min. Only time I have full throttle is on take of to altitude. I use Master Airskrew 9*6 prop, works fine. If I cut the engine some I'll be up to 30min flight. Hope this helps.

  • @BankheadRC Thanks, what size 4 cell battery do you use?

  • Good job Bra! You r on your way! Keep me posted too.

  • @MrWest1960 Thanks, will do West.

  • Try a prop that has less pitch and a wider blade. Trim it to fly alot slower for more flight time. my old skywalker is very heavy from repairs and a full load of fpv gear and HD camera i still get more than 25min flying 5miles out and back. NICE FIRST SKYWALKER FLIGHT

  • @RIPcombat Do you mean go from a 9" to a 10" prop with less pitch? I think the 9" is the biggest I can fit on it.

  • @letmeplaymystrat Try a 9''x 5 or 4.7 apc park flyer prop alot more trust at low speeds

  • @RIPcombat That's a good idea, Easier than changing the motor and loading up on 4 cell batteries. I'm going to pick up a couple of extra props tomorrow and check them out. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • @RIPcombat I tried a couple of props and it looks like the 9x4.5 might be a winner. Brought my max amp draw down to about 26 amps. Still feels like it has a good amount of thrust, although I haven't flown it yet.

  • @letmeplaymystrat The skywalker will fly very nice around 25 to 30 mph that will give you more fpv flight time at around 7 to 12 amps

  • @RIPcombat Thanks for the prop advice. The 9x4.5" brought my average amp draw down to about 10 amps. I was able to get a good 30 minutes on the 3s 6000. Odd thing is that I really didn't notice much of a decrease in top speed.

  • WooHoo! Looked really great. Congratulations... must feel really good after all that prep and figuring. I would love to hear how this compared to the Peace Drone you put together a little while ago.

  • @mackenzierob1 Thank you. I can't wait to get it in the air again. The peace drone is a great flyer as well, but about 1/2 the weight and while it doesn't carry as much of a payload. It looks really awesome in the air.

  • Great maiden, best of luck with your future flights!

  • Excellent Maiden. looks like a great platform.

  • Love it great job.

  • Nice and stable! Can't wait to maiden mine just waiting on my replacement dragonlink receiver!

  • @u2nvme Thank you. I wish you luck on your maiden. Post a video if you can. I always like seeing them.

  • I wish I had better luck with my Skywalker, I had an earlier version wing failier. Funny the only part left in one piece is the wing. I see the newest version has a beefier wing and rear fuse. Good luck with yours. Nice flying and video.

  • @epet52 Thanks, sorry about the wing problem. I may still may add a bit more support to mine. Better safe than sorry.
