Have you come across something to use instead of a relay? I am at this point too, and actually if you don't mind I will be copying your diode idea :) Thanks for the video WITH schematic, I find that VERY important.
Thanks. My next step will be to change the timing so that the time spent on -12V and +12V will be less than the time spent on 0V (zero volt), and then to increase frequency by using something else than a relay.

That's a great build! I agree on the slope as charge indicator, but the lead-acid batt has some internal resistance. A cap might charge better ?
