"shall not be infringed" means just that. its also a cost issue. i dont want to spend money on 10, 10 round magazines which cost about $30 bucks a pop, to get 100 rounds, when i can just buy 3 or 4 magz and have the same amount. its also more efficient, i dont want to reload my mags after every ten shots. their really is no such thing as "sensible" gun laws, just retarded ones. backround check are fine IMO

If you shoot a thief, rapist or burglar in San Fransisco, YOU go to jail, not the criminal.
If the criminal sues for intentional injuries, YOU must pay the thief compensation for the amount judged against you.
Ultimately, we should move toward ending a citizen's right to own guns.

im a gun owner,,,and i think some laws are needed...i dont need a loaded , fully auto ak 47 under my bed to protect myself...a 9mm in a finger print reading gun safe beside the bed is good enough...how many kids are shot each year because of improperly stored firearms ?

Don't fall for the trap of thinking like the progressives of "Well, if I don't need it then no one else needs it and no one else should have it." You may not want a full auto AK47, but it is your right to have one if you want one and it is legal so long as you jump through the required paperwork and other hoops...that is, if you live in a FREE state, not NY, NJ, MD, CT, RI, IL, CA & others.
But I do agree with proper storage of firearms.

@t328 Look at Haiti, Former Yugoslavia, DR Congo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon... Not sure if you'd call all those people "free," but those societies were quite armed. Yes, Iraqis owned guns under Saddam Hussein's regime, if you didn't know. Also, the US Govt. has already succeeded in taking our civil liberties with the Patriot Act. They let us keep the guns though. Right-Wing loonies are more concerned about protecting their guns than protecting their rights.

Could you imagine if the U.S. gave MANDATORY military training to EVERYONE in their teens, then gave them a weapon and sent them off to their home. This country would have BILLIONS of well armed and trained soldiers. NO ONE COULD INVADE US!!!

@DDTea well yes, billions. Seeing as there are billions of U.S citizens. It would not be a fucking 5 yr boot camp like the soldiers have, but a 3-4 month training camp for basics. The idea is that people would be able to defend themselves and people would know it. Therefor crime rates would decrease dramatically. Your right, it would be really weird compared to what we do today, but it is an ironic somewhat necessary step to world peace :\ did that come out right? Anyway I think it's a good idea

Ban guns and increase crime - just look at the UK vs Switzerland. In the UK the only members of the public with guns are criminals. As to crime the scroats have got no scruples about jacking your car up to cut the pipe and steal the fuel. (I've lost 10 gals recently) Maybe if they knew you had an assault rifle in the house they'd think twice. Crims get amazing discounts. One had his 3mo suspended sentence raised to a 6mo ss. (car theft, running lights, speeding, no ins etc) i.e. LET OFF!

i believe there is already a database for every new gun purchase, whether we like it or not. everytime u purchase a firearm and background is called in, they ask for the type/manufacturer/model firearm. if there just running a background, why do they need this additional purchase info? we dont need to register them!! They already know!!!!

For now your safe, the 4473s are kept filed and they do not leave the FFL dealer building, the forms and only turned in if the business is sold or fales. The call we make does not give out any information about your firearm. However this will change soon.
