wow these steps are so simple but they work so well, i can feel my punches gettin faster and my power increasing, not to mention i feel safe knowing my block is solid. Awesome videos man appreciate it
I disagree with some of the things being said in this video. You're not suppose to jump into your punches. You're suppose to plant your feet while the knees are slightly bent and then throw the punch from the hip. And look at the guy @ 1:24, he's telegraphing all his punches. He's winding up before he throws. Anyone can easily get out of the way of that guy's punches.
@TCisGaming - Even drills are suppose to be done correctly. Boxing is the most dangerous sport. It's irresponsible and foolish to give incorrect and bad advice.
pretty good videos but you should never come off your heels when you throw a upper cut ,it should come from the hip and rotation, short and powerful ,part one and part 2 were good vids but part 3 the hook and the upper cut were pretty bad example of throwing upper cuts
@getmajor I'm going with the guy with credibility, not the random youtuber who is probally a fat ass who just plays Fight Night for his fighting lessons.
@904xxiGhost fight night for fighting lessons ? many trainers teach people to come off the heel, and many like jackie hill, freddy roach and others recommend to keep the heal flat and keep it short from the hip and shoulder ...every trainer is different but if you ever trained in multiple gyms you would know that every trainer has different styles of fighting and throwing and the uppercut is still apples and oranges amongst many trainers... so before you open your mouth..go to gym not youtube kid
@wandfreak13 I bet you are good at Punch Out, but I doubt that would help you in a real fight. This is more a tutorial for punching on a bag and getting in shape imo.
Great videos! I always thought I had a fairly good idea how to throw a punch, but I followed Rai's instructions and I can feel that my punches are much more powerful.
No, your bones, skin and wrist will become stronger if you are used to hitting pads with bare hands. We are not talking about brick walls covered in sand paper. It is a thick pad, but nothing more, if you have a strong opponent, you could end up fighting someone for a half an hour. Hitting bones is much more damaging then hitting pads. None of them even use their legs. Boxers are fail, you have the right to remain ignorant. By all means, continue.
I've done Boxing, kenjutzu, tae kwon do, kick boxing, tai jutzu and shotokan karate and in a real fight boxing is the most effective singularly.
While punching pads does toughen up the skin around your knuckles internally it causes your bones to scrape off one another and can lead to your hands becoming basically useless. It's not ignorance, I've watched people who say it'll toughen up their hands end up having to quit because it ruins them. Bones only toughen up if they get broken.
Should I start out with most of my weight on my back foot or on my front foot? Also when I twist my waist I take my eyes off of my opponent, is that bad? If so how do I avoid taking my eyes off my opponent if i am twisting my waist? One more thing, is the first step in throwing a right hook putting most of my weight on my right foot, twisting my waist, or bringing my fist in the right posisition to throw a right hook? Please help!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
I'd advise against learning this, in a real fight it's less than effective as it's too obvious and most people would counter it with a quick jab to the face. If you are set on learning it though you should have most of your weight on your front foot and throw your hook with the opposite arm. (Right hand left foot)
then take up a fighting style and spar as much as possible after a few months your eyes should get used to seeing speed like that kids and you'll be able to fight effectively. It's not as hard as it seems but it's not easy either.
hey does anyone know what the name of the song playing throughout the switch ups is...the one that says "got to be numbre one in this world, number one"...???
I guess im wondering how much of delivering a HARD blow is contributed to being musclular...versus a weeker dude with alot of technique.
