Love and mutual respect, not war and conquest, is the answer. It is not yet too late for us to turn tbis world around. Folks, let's resolve to prevent aything like this from happening again. This is why HU's visit to the USA is so very important.
I agree there was plenty of blame all the way around for World War One. Germany, viewed about 100 years later, comes out as not really any more "evil" than the allied nations. The whole nasty thing was a tragedy. Work hard for true world peace. Spread love in this world whenever you can. Do it now before it really is too late. Either that or we may kill ourselves with bombs and machines some day. God created a garden and look what we did with it. We can do better.
I waited a long time to see this and when I finally did it ended in dissapointment. Its wrong historically, there was no character development and I think the whole movie was an excuse to make a love story. Everything and everyone revolved around him and the nurse, with a few battle scenes inbetween to remind us there was a war in case we forgot. At most it looked like a slide show. And then hearing "I bet the girls are all over you" made me throw my hands up in defeat. Brilliant actors though.
@xvoy2002 lol Germans have always been great warriors :) the only reason why their weak now was thanks to ***** Hitler he wasnt German he wasnt HUMAN!
he was respected by his fellow man and by his enemys, and even though he was fighting for the nazis in WWII he never was nazi himself he just did his thing.
@Maverick110290 mh yep i confused that one with frank v. holstein hes.. well not populer and not even close to professionel as v. richthofen, my grandpy told me about frank i confused those
More stupidly unbelievable aircraft graphics a'la Flyboys. Can they not hire men to fly real planes any more??? For anyone new to airplane/ dogfight movies, rent The Blue Max, and see the difference for yourself. Video-game history sucks.
I really want to see this merely because it has the Red Baron. I'd like more accuracy in my historical topics, but then again, most of what I love about Richthofen is the fact that he's surrounded with mystique. And he was a hero, but ach na, whatever.
I was disappointed that the movie does not do justice to von Richthofen's character and is riddled with historical inaccuracies too. It wouldn't have taken much effort to do it right. Why didn't they? Check out my Red Baron song on the "BicyclingGuitarist" channel here on YouTube. The lyrics and images are historically accurate and the song rocks! I wrote it on a bicycle (not kidding about that).
@pilotdave1000- there is controversy over how he died, what is fact is that he was shot down during the course of WW1, but what is in question is who fired the fatal shot. Most historians now agree that he was brought down by ground fire because of modern forensics applied to the records of his "autopsy" (ie, location of wounds and types of wounds, etc). What is also fact is that he was brought down over lines occupied by the 5 Infantry Divisions of Australian Corps.
Regarding Von Richtofen's comment that he was a sportsman, I recall that he had a silver cup made as a trophy by a Berlin jeweller for each of his victories.
Always intrigued by the story of Von Richtofen, although in my youth I always cheered for the exploits of the RFC pilots, the predecessor of the RAF. Fortunate for the Allies that Von Richtofen never lived to fly the Fokker DR7 in combat. No sign of this movie in Canada yet, more than 1 year after its original release.
BigBadassR: i disagree, it brings a new dimension to him for a much younger age that doesn't remember him for what he did and who he was, but that he was good at flying and he was "the bad guy"
It was filmed in english then dubbed in Germany since almost all the actors were german it it's excellent that both voice versions have all the same voice actors nearly.
Jasper von Richthofen, the descendant of red baron, speaks Polish very good and few years ago lived in Gubin, at German-Polish board to work in Poland. I know him because we do the same profesion. Very nice and openmined guy, real friend of Poland.
There s a nice production from the late 70s I think, called 'Von Richthofen and Brown' if I m not mistaken, von R. is played by a well known british actor whose name I have forgotten, but very well produced and authentic feel to it, especially the dog fight scenes, awseome....
well Poland was overran in 3 weeks but during the blitz of Poland the Polish airforce had a 1 to 1 kill ratio against the Luftwaffe which was pretty phenominal

ok but i think this song is not from the red baron soundtrack because i heard it in other trailers too. It's a pity because i search this song for a long time ago =( but although thx

The Red Baoron's aircraft was painted red because he wanted to scare away the enemy planes.
He also told his pilots to not continue to shoot badly damaged planes because he said that they were sportsman and not butchers.
His brother always argued about things like: A soldier cannot afford to mourn/ a war cannot be won without deaths etc.
Another strange fact was that the Red Baoron liked to smoke French cigarretes.

@BigBadassR
Politically correct would be that the germans would have been replaced with devils from hell and yankees, british replaced with angels from heaven.
And the germans would be dropping like flies.
The truth is politically incorrect.
