Nah i always write long comments lol Yeah you are right that Russia has fallen behind. 90s were real hell for both economy and military. But i think now its different story and they are woring hard to catch up with everything. And i think they are doing good so far. They still are behind in some things but they do have advantage in some things escpecially any kind of missile systems, both AA and balistic.
Russian planes are very comparable to western jets, even better than some. Tu-160 i superior to any US bomber, Su-35 to any US fighter except F-22 etc. Fact is that USAF is stronger than RuAF but they have different purposes. Russian AF was made for defence of Russia and USAF for offensive operations on other continents. European technology is big LOL.... Rafale and Eurofighter are awesome but other than that and G-36 rifle what else does EU industry have that is great?
Russian systems like S-300 and S-400 are nightmare for US. US is using Russian rockets to deliver components in space since Space shuttle is withdrawn from service. Russian submarines are best in the world. Russian AT systems like AT-14 or RPG-29 proved highly effective against Merkava tanks which are way superior than Abrams. BMP-3 proved to be better than even French MBTs in UAE. T-90 is great tan, way better than M1A1 and probably better than M1A2.

BTR-90, T-90, Iskander M, Borei class, Yasen class, Steregushciy class, Su-35, Su-30, Mi-28, Ka-52, T-50, BMP-3M, BMD-4, Yak-130, Sprut SD, GAZ-2975 Tigr, S-400, Pantsir S1 and many more all made after USSR. Most of it is based on weapons from 80s, but what is US army? F-15,16,18, A-10, Abrams, B-1, Patriot, 80% of the navy etc. made in 80s. When saying `rusty` you are just showing how stereotypical you are. US has its advantages but so does Russia.

@zvastianx The American military has advanced greatly over the last decade. They have obviously spent a lot of money on power projection. I also think Russia has always had the capacity to learn from the mistakes of the US, so I think it would be dangerous to assume Russia has not also grown over the last decade. But I hope the main lesson is that future leaders will not be belligerent but those who enable others. Economics will be the weapon of the future not WMDs. I think Russia knows this.

@eagleclawproduction1 So you have sneaky planes over russians. What do you do? You have only 30 stealth bombers. When they start bombing they will be noticed and shot down. Same goes with F-22. When they start fighting they will be seen from ground and are shot down if they don´t leave. Russia is also so forested country that is´s very hard to spot enemies from air.

By destroying russian planes you don´t gain air superiority because russians have hundreds of S-300 and other SAM systems on the ground. Russia has the world´s best air defence system and it´s so tight and advanced that even most stealth planes can´t penetrate it without being spotted. Only Spirit can and when it opens its bomb bay doors. It will be seen on radar. <-Russian airspace control without fighters.

@eagleclawproduction1 I´ve heard that also F-22´s stealth can be compromised by rain. And during the cold war, Soviet union posed a threat all the time. You weren´t ahead of them at all. Maybe a year at the most. Same goes today. Russia and USA are on the same level when it comes to weapon tech. You may have slightly better planes, but Russia has better AA-defence. You will go on the same level now and in near future.
@qelleri you do realize we already have a proposal from boeing for a 6th generation fighter from boeing right - and it took the the reds years to catch up with our U2 and the soviets really never caught up with our SR-71 we'd just fly over them so so much for their so called invincible AA system and btw its taken the reds how long to finally come with in sight of even possessing the ability to defend them selves

@TheComentz Thats when they conscript. When Russia conscripts they barely train their conscripts. Russia does not have the firepower we have. They have less tanks, airplanes, naval ships, APCs, IFVs, etc. The US also has their Navy, which is the largest in the world an has more ships than the Russian Navy, Russia still uses the T64 and T72. The US don't use the M48 or M60A3 anymore. The US Air Force spends over 2 mil per pilot.

Russia was defeated by the Taliban in Afghanistan that were using AKs also. The US actually fought a real military in Vietnam, name one actual battle that the Vietcong beat the US. The civilians in the US lost Vietnam not the military. Yes the Mi-28 is better than the Apache. But Russia has only 24 in their military. The US has 698 Apaches.

@djjosh34445 Battle for LZ Albany,Battle for hill 861,Battle of Kham Duc and Battle of two july. There is more also. OK, if you want to say the US military won the war, the soviet military won in Afghanistan, 13k soviets dead while there is ALOT more enemy killed during that war. There may be more Apaches atm but there will be alot more Mi 28's being produced in the future. All mi 24s will be replaced by mi 28s.

The US Navy has only been defeated by Japan in WWII in Pearl Harbor, but that was an ambush. The only defeat in battle the US Navy has had is against the British during the war of 1812. The Russian Navy has been defeated by Germany in WWII, Japan, and France. The air force has good planes but very few of them. Russia has only 11 SU35

The US has over 1500 F-15C. Also Russian infantry use a 5.45mm round the US has a 5.56mm round. The US infantry are trained over 1 year the Russian Infantry are trained only 22 weeks. Fact is US would win

@Abortedmetalhead1980 All stealth aircraft can be seen on radar, only when their close. The US doesn't bring their aircraft close to anything except the A-10. BTW An F\A-18F would kill an SU-30 before the SU-30 could see it. Russian planes are made to get into dogfights, US planes are like snipers. The Russian missile systems you mentioned are used for different purposes. One is not even in production. The US uses the Roland which is really good. Besides the US isn't even the world power. China.

I don't know what you been smoking but S300,S400 and SOON S500 which will be out SOON are very capable of shooting down aircraft (stealth aircraft too), ballistic missiles and cruise missiles. Russians have the best missiles. The FA-18F cannot kill a Su-30 unless the pilot does not know what the fuck he is doing. Su-30 is better than the FA-18F.

Both the US and Russia build great technological achievements. Both are stable. US economy is immense and is progressing (in quality, not quantity). USSR/Russia had been going in the same direction for many decades now. The result: US/Russia have already developed 5th gen fighters, while the rest of the world flies on Mig-21s/copied 4th gen technology at best. USA and Russia are not the best; history simply played out that way that they're the most advanced in this area. Both are great nations.

But i think now its different story and they are woring hard to catch up with everything. And i think they are doing good so far. Russian planes are very comparable to western jets, even better than some. Tu-160 i superior to any US bomber, Su-35 to any US fighter except F-22 etc. Fact is that USAF is stronger than RuAF but they have different purposes. Russian AF was made for defence of Russia and USAF for offensive operations on other continents. European technology is big LOL.... Rafale and Eurofighter are awesome but other than that and G-36 rifle what else does EU industry have that is great?

Russian systems like S-300 and S-400 are nightmare for US. US is using Russian rockets to deliver components in space since Space shuttle is withdrawn from service. Russian submarines are best in the world. Russian AT systems like AT-14 or RPG-29 proved highly effective against Merkava tanks which are way superior than Abrams. BMP-3 proved to be better than even French MBTs in UAE. T-90 is great tan, way better than M1A1 and probably better than M1A2.

I also think Russia has always had the capacity to learn from the mistakes of the US, so I think it would be dangerous to assume Russia has not also grown over the last decade. But I hope the main lesson is that future leaders will not be belligerent but those who enable others. Economics will be the weapon of the future not WMDs. I think Russia knows this.

By destroying russian planes you don´t gain air superiority because russians have hundreds of S-300 and other SAM systems on the ground. Russia has the world´s best air defence system and it´s so tight and advanced that even most stealth planes can´t penetrate it without being spotted. Only Spirit can and when it opens its bomb bay doors. It will be seen on radar. <-Russian airspace control without fighters.

Maybe a year at the most. Same goes today. Russia and USA are on the same level when it comes to weapon tech. You may have slightly better planes, but Russia has better AA-defence. You will go on the same level now and in near future.

They have less tanks, airplanes, naval ships, APCs, IFVs, etc. The US also has their Navy, which is the largest in the world an has more ships than the Russian Navy, Russia still uses the T64 and T72. The US don't use the M48 or M60A3 anymore. The US Air Force spends over 2 mil per pilot.

There may be more Apaches atm but there will be alot more Mi 28's being produced in the future. All mi 24s will be replaced by mi 28s.

The US Navy has only been defeated by Japan in WWII in Pearl Harbor, but that was an ambush. The only defeat in battle the US Navy has had is against the British during the war of 1812. The Russian Navy has been defeated by Germany in WWII, Japan, and France. The air force has good planes but very few of them. Russia has only 11 SU35

The US has over 1500 F-15C. Also Russian infantry use a 5.45mm round the US has a 5.56mm round. The US infantry are trained over 1 year the Russian Infantry are trained only 22 weeks. Raptors are expensive failed crap which was canceled and besides they can be seen but Russian radar and can be taken down before they get into Russia with S300,S400 and soon S500 systems which are Superior to the crap Patriot systems. What does the difference between rounds have to do with anything? LOL both can kill people. Btw Russian guns are better than the crap the US army uses which has been proven many times. The Russians are ruthless.

@Abortedmetalhead1980 All stealth aircraft can be seen on radar, only when their close. The US doesn't bring their aircraft close to anything except the A-10. BTW An F\A-18F would kill an SU-30 before the SU-30 could see it. Russian planes are made to get into dogfights, US planes are like snipers. The Russian missile systems you mentioned are used for different purposes. One is not even in production. The US uses the Roland which is really good. Besides the US isn't even the world power. China.

I don't know what you been smoking but S300,S400 and SOON S500 which will be out SOON are very capable of shooting down aircraft (stealth aircraft too), ballistic missiles and cruise missiles. Russians have the best missiles. The FA-18F cannot kill a Su-30 unless the pilot does not know what the fuck he is doing. Su-30 is better than the FA-18F.

Both the US and Russia build great technological achievements. Both are stable. US economy is immense and is progressing (in quality, not quantity). USSR/Russia had been going in the same direction for many decades now. The result: US/Russia have already developed 5th gen fighters, while the rest of the world flies on Mig-21s/copied 4th gen technology at best. USA and Russia are not the best; history simply played out that way that they're the most advanced in this area. Both are great nations.
