  • Yum, I feel like going to KFC after seeing this!

  • Well, I don't know why people think the people in the UK are any better than anyone else in the world with compassion for animals, no way, it is more comprehensible in countries where human life is held cheaply perhaps, We make a lot of noise about being kind to animals, but it is so untrue. I am English, maybe lack of education, children living in inner cities with dumb parents, what can I say, cruelty here is just as bad, really bad, towards animals in every way. I save chickens.

  • @TheJolie999

Well, the UK has the highest animal standards in the world, but unfortuantly, this dosen't include poultry.

  • why do people allow in UK these kind of farms? I can understand why those kind of farsm are in USA because you know how americans are, but in UK? Everything in Europe is better and more humane usually, this is humiliating to UK

  • Watch this video. It shows what I am talking about. /user/FlyingDutchmanFarms?feature=mhee#p/a/286020CB8E29A899/0/aJ7rrHYmFiQ

  • Wow. In my state, Arkansas which is the number 2 producer of broilers in the U.S. we have what are called standards in the poultry production industry. Looks like they have very similar equipment in the video so I assume the problem lies with the grower. Ventilation is obviously needed and should have never been neglected, and the house needs to be cleaned and sterilized. It looks as if the chicken house has not been cleaned in a few harvests. Maybe 6 months or more litter in there. Buy Tyson's.

  • I don't want to lover my demand. I want to consume cheap broiler meat. Thanks broiler industry!

  • they looked quite content and u r always going to see death and genetic problems in populations that size.........how many problems do u see in our pet cats and dogs ........ i love animals bt have no problem with broiler and breeder hens its the caged layer hens and caged sows that sickens me as it is detrimental 2 the animals psychological health and sheep, cows and horses that r left out in paddocks with no shelter in the middle of winter and wet weather! those r more important issues!

  • This industry is ruled by only 60 companies which have created an oligopoly. Broiler chickens are selectively bred and genetically altered to produce bigger thighs and breasts, the parts in most demand.

Do we share similarities with this breed of chicken we have forcefully created Obesity, accelerated growth and other expressions of weakness? I know this is a very hard fact to digest. I can say it with more certainty than before that it is true.

  • The fatness in people is a reflection of the breed of chicken they are eating "modified to not be able to lose weight, but to constantly gain weight." Consider this very real side effect of the modern world.

  • I buy free range meat.

  • The price difference between free range eggs and battery eggs is next to nothing, even if you're on benefits. If you have problems with money, stop paying £3 for a box of cereal from kellogs and try some of the smart price / in store things. I've honestly bought smart price stuff that taste BETTER than the known brands and costs a THIRD of the amount. Toothpaste is the same, and bleach. £3 from domestos, 17p tescos own brand. SAME THING in the pack, but now a huge difference in cost.

  • im afraid that the demand for free range farming will probably go down and theres really nothing anyone can do to stop it because taking away battery farming mean leaving the country starving for chicken you can't make people stop eating chicken and the saying live fast die young may not be catchy and watching thousand of chicken being stuffed in a small room may not be the most wonderfull thing to watch but you need to feed a growing country and free range will hold back the production

  • @paradox3578 what your saying is not the best possible compromise cause this breed has influenced people all over the world a good amount since it was brought about 50 or so years ago.

  • In the wild, the downed birds would have been quickly and humanely ripped apart by a fox or other predatory creature.

  • All members of Mr Himmlers Subdivision ?

  • may i ask why their rears seem so large?

  • lots of food yummy

  • The worst night mare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The worst night mare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • myemosong needs to get out into the real world to see how things are done instead of relying on youtube and PETA for false information. She doesn't have a clue about farming in Europe yet tars all poultry farmers with the same brush because of a youtube video.

  • i love chicken

  • Free range is a better choice if you can afford it.

  • Orange yolks are much better than this crap.

  • CerebalDystrophy is right these birds are healthy and happy

    and ready for market !

  • poor chickens

  • lets eat!!

  • wow they were not removed.. they were placed at 4 hrs of age.. from the looks of it the pans and the water lines were proper height for age and size..... litter in good condition... confused??? wow i didnt know people can tell when a chicken is confused... haha

  • Broilers are a diferent breed from your average chicken... Kinda like the difference between a Jack Russell terrier & a Black Lab. They are sedate & lazy and really only interested in eating, drinking & lazing about! They are happy chickens! Bred for this environment.

Obviously you get some dead in any group of animals incl. humans. 0.1%/day in a chicken shed is ave. ( this includes the 'disabled' ones that are reqd to be culled by law... animal welfare.) In a huge 50,000 bird shed = 50/day.

  • That's not true...

a lab is lazy by choice (although I've met some very hyper labs) but the reason a cornish cross broiler doesnt move that much is because its physically unable to

its like tying a 150 pound backpack to your back for your whole life and saying that you're lazy and happy not moving around

These chickens still have the instincts and desire to move around and free range, but their massive sizes prevent them from doing so.

  • first off, i do not eat meat, and second, i have 5 pet chickens that free range in my yard. i cant even beleave what they do to these birds! just think, chickes, hundreds of years ago, lived in the jungle! in nature, where they belong! what people have done to chickens, turkys, and of corse, cows, pigs, and every other animall that man has, "damestacated" i'm not saying im agenst haveing pets, but this just isnt right!

  • Insane cruelty inacted by man. What a horrific sight. They are suffering terribly and looked so sick and confused. They are so far removed from what their natural environment should be. The stress and the noise level is difficult to take just witnessing it.

  • i went to a chicken farm in the west midlands once, it was like this, but much much worse, they were crawling around ontop of eachother, the convayor belt for the eggs kept breaking because chickens were pushed onto the convayer when they were laying eggs, by other chickens being pushed in

it was the worst thing i have ever seen in my life

  • wow they look healthy to me we used to have broilers an these a perky

  • i'm afraid its the consumer that is responsible for battery farming.. demanding lower prices and high availability..

if consumers dont buy battery produce there will be no market for it.. i appreciate not everbody can afford free range prices but you dont have to eat meat every day.. lower the demand.. check ingredients in things like mayonnaise & pasta.. most are made with battery farmed eggs.. its not easy but its a start.. help to reduce the demand for battery farming..

  • It only costs less than one penny per egg for free range to actually raise them, not too mention it would make more jobs. Jobs that will stay in the U.S., not be shipped overseas.

  • @rockhoppin ; On the other side, if producers refused to participate in mass-industry and produce in a biological way the consumer has only 2 choices; don't eat the meat or eggs or buy the freerange. And McDonalds would be forced to buy free range to. Ofcourse, the average consument is extremely selfish, the advertisments with for example KFC chickens also adds to problem. But the producers are as responisble, maybe even more than consumers. It's all about the money and political lobbying

  • poor little things

  • this so freaking sad all these chickens never set a foot outside unless its dead. to fat to walk from stuffing there face full of food all day and night. chemicals plunged into there bodies things like steroids this is the kind of thing that god didnt want to happen go PETA AND SAVE ALL OF THESE ANIMALS

  • @myemosong Let me educate on 2 mistakes you made 1. Broilers don't get steroids they are bred to grow fast. 2. Research PETA and see what they do with animals they can't look after.

  • @cattlewrangler they still give them steroids i know a lot about broilers and chickens and you dont have to be an asshole about it these birds arnt treated well at all if you think this is right in anyway to treat gods creatures like this then you need some serious help broilers are raised just for out consumption basicly they are supplying to our needs but in an unhealthy way to the animal. i didnt ask for a lession in something i already know. maybe you should school yourself in this area

  • @myemosong Your knowledge of broilers doesn't go beyond youtube. Growth promoters are not used in broiler production. I have a few broilers at the moment they grow fast without growth promoters because they were bred to do so. They also have plenty space not crammed into sheds like all the videos in youtube will have you believe. You should visit a broiler farm sometime instead of trying to gain knowledge from youtube videos.

  • @cattlewrangler actually ive been studying them for a couple years now i never said anything about sheds and youtube isnt going to change my opinion on broilers i know whats wrong and i know whats right and my knowledge is none of your damn business. like i said before you have no idea what they do and its something i have actually studied. you may have broilers and if you do then maybe they are being treated better than the ones in the video. but im pretty sure you dont have thousands of them

  • @myemosong You are from America this video is about UK poultry. Do some more research about growth promoters in Europe. Hormonal growth promoters have been banned in farming (including poultry) since the mid 1980's. Antibiotic growth promoters in feed have been banned since 2006. I didn't say anything about your knowledge I was talking about your lack of it on this subject.

  • @cattlewrangler im not gonna waste my time talking to you about something you aparently have no knowledge off

  • with that many birds in 1 place its gotta be imposible to keep them all health and a safe place to grow food...

  • three words: KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN

  • la verdad es que da lastima ver a los pobre pollos asi...

todo cada vez va a peor...

  • three words: GO FREE RANGE

  • search free range farming here on youtube and see what pops up.
