man, you sure do put the mesa name to shame. And of course, any amp is going to feed back with balls to the wall gain and you are sitting right infront of the cab with a bc rich.
@staubfc Fuck no, that's one of the best part's about having a high gain amp. Some people like it, myself, and some people don't. To me, it's one of the greatest ways to end a piece of composition \m/(>_<)\m/
distortion does not cause feedback, when amplified, any sound can create a loop which 'feeds back' to the input making more 'feedback' hence the term 'feedback'.
how long a chord dings is determined by the instrument and is called sustain. distortion enhances that because it compresses the sound, but this is just the sound of the amp making the guitar vibrate: feedback!
@cast390 retube it!!!! dude trust me! i own one as well.. trust me just retube it. get dougstubes reccomended high gain set! with gz 34's as the diode tubes.
that was the biggest waste of nearly a minute ever. That doesn't prove anything about the amount of distortion. Maybe sustain but distortion suggests how heavy an amp sounds, 1 rung-out chord does not inform this

Well, they have a lot of distortion but you would usually back the gain to about 60% - 80% to get the optimal tone.

to all the people who can't read, it doesn't say "how long can a chord hold" is says "how much distortion does X have". Distortion causes feedback.
