  • There is a DVD set of season #1 of the Banana Splits for R2 and R4 regions. But you're getting the 36 30-minute sydicated versions not the 18 "Adventure Hour" hour long episodes.

  • Great days.tv

  • this is SO good in colour.

In my mind, the Sour Grapes Bunch were about 16. Evidently they were older than me!

    Thanks for posting!

  • I wanted to be a Sour Grapes girl SOOOO bad when I was little!

  • I remember my sister used to like Strawberry Shortcake when we were kids, and one of the villians was Sour Grapes. NOW, I know where they got that name from.

  • Who needs drugs when you can watch this stuff!!!

  • I think all of their names were Charlie.I loved that show when I was a kid.

  • I soo wanted to become a sour grapes Girl

  • falto cucus aqui

  • Aha when I was little and I watched this I wanted Charlee to use that power on me!

  • The Sour Grapes were all little hotties, I loved 'em when I was a kid. I always wished they had their own show. Snorky was by far my fave Split, but Not the later un-shaggy Snorky. I was so pissed when the New Snorky costume was introduced, I stopped watching.

  • hahaha, they are so funny, I love them!

  • Actually I don't believe he ever talks. But as strange things happen, there MAY have been exceptions. (Example how in a latter-day Warner Brothers flick, Wile E. Coyote DID catch the roadrunner. LOL! Poor him. By that time the roadrunner was many times taller than him, all Wile E could do was hold up a sign "You always wanted me to catch him - NOW what?" So... maybe Snorky talked. Don't quote me on that. But stranger things have happened.

  • Does Snorky ever talk?

  • look at the hippy shades. LoL

  • Lol, now why didn't Snorky fight like that with the Sour Grape Bunch?

  • A messenger boy!

  • You know it's weird that these are girls, the Sour Grapes and Fleagle calls them guys and in one show he calls one of the girls a boy?

  • i loved

    *_________*

  • i've got your backs banana splits. come on, we will show those really little girls how really tough we are. they wont come in here again acting all tough. after you Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper and Snorky.

  • AHAHAHA.

    Snork is love! <3

  • I always wondered why they seemed to be afraid of the Sour Grapes Bunch. Frightended of dancing preteen girls?!

  • That's the whole joke...

  • Considering how one messenger has them spooked, you can just imagine how the rest of the members are!

  • I feel like I should be eating a big bowl of Capt. Crunch while I watch this.

Love those Sour Grapes girl boots...

  • Were they supposed to be firemen?

  • LOL Snork kicked everyones ass! LOL

  • Trippy. LOL

  • I remember the banana splits when I was a kid and the show started about the same time they opened Kings Island just outside of Cincinnati OH....

  • like the early marx brothers, Groucho, Chico, Harpo and Zeppo.

Harpo would only honk a horn, as he was in pantomime of a mute.

The Banana splits may have taken a cue from them.

Joseph Hanna and William Barbera had gained experience as show business executives, and this was one of their best features!

    I love the entire gestalt

  • You mean William Hanna and Joseph Barbera.

  • I used to date the younger sister of one of those "Sour Grapes" girls.

Her name was Barbara Baird Miller or something.

She was also "funky rat" on the "Bugaloos", and "Holly" on one of the early episodes of "Land of the lost".

Her sisters Cheryl and Andrea were also in commercials and Krofft productions as well... I may have one confused with another...

Currently she lives in a mobile home near Lake Elsinore, CA. (They all have spoiled bitz attitudes when you get to know them)

  • Dose Snorky Have a voice or is the horn a way of him talking?

  • I like the tune the sour grapes dance to. Very retro and kind of cute.

  • I always loved Snorky in the first season. He was my favorite Split, 'til they replaced his groovy shaggy costume with the lame un-shaggy one. Then I guess I was more into Drooper, who always struck me as the Mike Nesmith of the Splits. I dug their Vox guitars too.

  • Brilliant stuff...would harldy see the likes nowadays...

  • That makes sense.

  • Why was Snorkey the only Banana Splits member who didn't talk?

  • Coz he doesn't have a mouth duh!!!

  • I always wanted to be a sour grapes bunch Girl , I actually use to do that dance in my room alone !!!

  • What I think NBC should a have was Try this Show on Friday Nights at 8pm back in the late 1960s,it just might have work,if i was Disney I might would try a 21st centry version of the Banana Splits and Try to interduce Disney Carttoons like Hana Babar did with this show.of course DIsney would need Ted Turner permisen to do this,Sinse he owns All the hana Babar Cartoons. The Banana in small way is now back in demand

  • english translation please.

  • Sometimes there are four of the grapes and they come in and dance - I think one of them was even black!

  • Snorkey was played by a guy named Jim Dove. He became a Christian, and he and his enormous wife, Barbara, (6'3" to his 5'2"), used to come and sing together at our church all of the time! He was this Sonny Bono type looking guy, and she looked like the big blond lady with the Viking hat on at the Opera. Too funny, but they were pretty good in their own right. His voice sounded like Wally Cox. I couldn't help but watch them, and wonder what the "sheets dept." musta been like! Too weird!!

  • I like your coment its very fuuny, they sound like pretty nice people, that maybe had a good since of humer, with the way you driscribe them, the Banana Splits was a very entrainting show,I liked it.

  • this is why my dad calls me charlie

    ahaa

  • I love how snorky is just a horn. "Honk-honk-honk-honk-honk-honk-honk"

  • Maybe he was played by Harpo Marx, LOL!

  • Best show ever with the funkiest music :)
