  • not a very good landing you almost had a tailstrike  :( ...next time add less fuel then if you have the right normal landing speed you only have to pull the nose 2.5 degrees up or less

  • its a very good one but i think its too low for entering to the runway and using ils and i admit its soft but you could do it really better, at list some of my landing are smoother than than but anyway very good job

  • ya i took lessons after that XD "rejected take off" made me think what it ment so made a quick google search after the comment =) its supposed to be on rto for take off and autobrake 1,2,3,max depending on the weight, runway lenght, and situation

  • Nice landing, but you think real pilots would go ILS in such beautiful weather conditions? Reverse thrust can be used when the main gear is down as long as the front gear wont smash into the ground! If the runway your landing on is short you are allowed to use reverse thrust when main gear is touched down!

  • cool landing but I really suggest that you use the reverse trust after you touch with your nose gear.

  • @omgroy1587 Unless it is a 747-400, then you better deploy reverse after main touchdown, not nose, main.

  • Less flaps, maybe 25-30 degrees. and don't over flare. Except that, you're as good as a pilot.

  • Hey how can you make the plane land itself????? I always have a hard time doing it....

  • first press Z to engage auto pilot, then press cntl+A to start auto aproach, and it sould land itself, but i recommend keep practicing to get better

  • Flare = Bring the nose smoothly to a pitch up attitude to reduce descentrate so that main gear touches down first, and make landing pleasant.

  • your nose was to high. In the real world you can't land with full fuel. Try to put the weight or the fuel to 20% left and right tanks and 10% center tank.

    if u did u might mess up the gear if ur sinkrate was too high

    now its not as bad if u dont have as much fuel

  • You flare too much. It should be no less than 9 degrees of flare. Otherwise great landing.

  • I keep crashing I think because my vertical speed is to much.

    What is the appropriate vertical speed at touchdown?

  • In real life, the onboard flight managment computer calculates your reference speeds.

    A typical approach speed in a 737 is around 140 knots. Fly the approach using around -700 fpm, untill 100ft above touchdown elevation, then initiate a flare, by pitching slightly nose up.

  • im new to FSX, when i land, i land with my flaps at 45 degrees, but wen i touchdown, my plane goes crazy. HELP ME SOMEONE!!! also how do you slow it down, cos i notice the plane makes a loud noise as if its getting faster wen it lands on this vid. how do you do that and how do you slow down!! HELP!!!!!

  • Ok, first off, that loud noise is the engines in reverse. You can slow down using the speedbrake. You always want them at 1/4 when you are landing. that keeps your speed steady. Your plane goes crazy because your landing at an angle, so try to go in level, or not turning. I think that covers it. =D

  • the noise you hear is the engine brakes. basically the engines thrust the other way to help slow down the plane

  • Do you know how to do an ILS landing?

  • Usually, the controller will vector you inn to have a 30 degree instercept of the localizer. Fly at the applicable altitude for the approach being flown, join the localizer, wait for glideslope. Lead the descent with appox. 1 dot. Slow down to approach speed and start dumping flaps.

  • man that sounds hard to do. i can do it for the approach but not for the landing.

  • you will also need to know the ils freq. , tune in the freq, on the pfd when you have it tuned, there will be about 5 transparent circles horizontally and verticall with one purple diamond somewhere on each. On the vertical one if the diamond is above the middle circle, you're below the glideslope... climb and the other way around. For the horizontal one if the diamond is to the left the localizer is to the left, you need to turn a little to the left and the other way around.

  • fsx has very slightly improved flight dynamics from fs2004, it simulates some of the ground effects caused by desending to the runway..its a lot more "real"

  • That was quite a nice landing. Very soft. The only problem was that you flred a bit too much try to flare no more than 5 degrees next time. So then if someone was on board it wouldn't feel like a concorde landing.

  • It is when you pull up before you land so that the main gear hits the runway instead of ripping the nose gear off

  • Yes. It's like a little stall just before touchdown - also reduces speed.

  • FSX SP1 have support for multiple cpus.

    Prioritize in this order:

    1. 2048MB RAM - running on dual channel

    2. Dualcore as fast as possible (intel or amd)

    3. PCI-Express GeForce 8 series GFX 512 MB RAM shuld be sufficient

    4. Western Digital Raptor SATA HDD for faster loading.

  • you could run the game with a half decent PC. mine is about a year old and runs it fine, though i dont get as much scenery as these vids. it depends on budget, how much realism you want etc

  • Not really a soft landing. Good job coming in but like has been said don't idle till you 100% happy with putting it on the ground. As soon as the back wheels hit you went reverse thrust? Then you also braked that nose would of smacked the ground hard man. Not bad at all though well done.

  • Actually that was nice and soft landing.I've done worse in FSX and Once i crashed trying to soft land.

  • I woudln't call that a soft touchdown. Dont completely idle the engines until your over the runway.

  • 1st of all that is fsx because no other simulator has an orange virtual airline that says orbit airlines on it and secondly, that was not too much flare where i come from in australia all the landings are like that and they are smoother than any other landing that i have ever experienced and i have experienced a lot of landings.

  • Come in with a flat nose by using more speed, unless a very short runway. This will help the landing become more steep, with less of a chance of hitting a building. Reduce speed to idle and lift nose, if timed right, will have perfect landing. Just look at what Ryanair do...maybe not that good an example...watch BA 734s...thats better!

  • Maybe it is because of 90% fuel level. But I think the planes in FS has a bad habbit of leaning too much back.
