i truly appreciate sakaguchi and uematsu for their ability to give "souls" to a game, instead of simply ripping off this years' most powerful Graphic Engine and putting it into a game, creating amazing fmv and nothin' more...

FF 12 was recieved better than lost odyssey and got a perfect score on Famitsu. It lacked a great story alright but had great innovative gameplay.I doubt FF13 will be a failure seen as the crew from ff10 are working on it and uematsu is composing for it also. FF10 was the most emotional rpg I have ever played and sakaguci had no involvement in it. Sakaguci is a legendary developer but lost odyssey and blue dragon could have been so much better!

Lost Odyssey is Final Fantasy in disguise. Everything I felt missed in X-2 and XII was present here. And the music. The music! May very well be the best soundtrack Uematsu has ever done.

Well seeing how FFX-2 was released in the same year as the merging of Square and Enix took place, reason would have it that Square was already making the game long before Enix was in the picture.

Thus the game was pretty much Squares own failure.

Nobuo is a genius. Im glad that his music will continue to live on. Final fantasy has changed so much recently, im glad lost odyssey exists because through that, the soul of the true final fantasy still remains. He is my favorite composer, and i remember his astounding works from the ff series to this day. Its so powerful that it is one important factor that made final fantasy what it was.

What I do not get, is why Lost Odyssey, a game with the Final Fantasy level polish and and presentation it has, along with an Ito quality set of subsystems and design, is being trashed by the media.

The game is far from dated, it's actually pretty much the modern trend of design for it's genre. Turn based will never die, it's it's own established genre. It is like saying Halo is archaic because you point at people and hold down fire until they perish.

I don't even like JRPGs, but "lost odyssey" might change that! Interresting fact: The lead desinger, hironobu sakaguchi{final fantasy}one of his inspiration's for the game was-get this-"Gears of war"! It said in a an issue of OXM{offical xbox magazine}.
