(Al-E-Imran) Say, (O Muhammad, to mankind): If ye love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (31)
can a drummer/better-than-me-at-exact-rhythm tell me what count his delay is on, cause its not the 4/4 quarter note, nor half, sounds like a 1.5 (quarter + eigth) but then again not exactly, thanks. maybe it is just a quarter? shit.
As always, Rick is the master of communication. His playing to music going on around him is like a conversation between two lovers. Hard to believe this was just a jam.
@human20freedom i've learned to play by my self, but i can tell you this, first A string then 12th fret harmonics( b g d ) , then b g d strings on the 10th, then the same on the 8th, 7th and 5th, use only that since you said that the solo part wasn't an issue. try it and let me know (:

me and my mates met guy in 1990 in bootle reverberations had few drinks with him he was still in awe of playing with floyd.told us couple of tour stories and drew a large beard and pair of specs on my sleeping drunk mate with permanent marker woke him up put him on bus home lol .thnx for the music the shed lads
@enigma81581 Maybe you missed my point. No doubt Dave is a guitar legend, but he is not considered an accomplished blues musician as much as he should be.
Whatever forces brought Guy Pratt to David Gilmour really was the equivalent of Pratt winning the lottery. He's a great musician/bassist, but think of how much his life changed by getting to play with one of the greatest guitarist/singer of all time for a 15 year span (and counting)..
I love this tune. This would have made a great track for a Pink Floyd album. Although Nick Mason's drums aren't here, David Gilmour and Rick Wright were the Pink Floyd sound. The only way one could get audio of this (not counting dubbing audio from DVD to CD-R) was to buy the limited edition 5-LP box of Live in Gdansk. Shame the LP went out of print quick but glad I have the 3-CD/2-DVD box which is only available in the US via Best Buy. $50 well spent IMHO!
What does "barn jam 121" means? Does it means that they are more than 121 jams or what? And, in that, case, where can I find the others? (they aren´t in youtube)
Some artists, when they win and reach the top, can afford to do what you want, when they are not obeying standard industry. Gilmour and Wright, and friends, playing what they want, how they want and the way they want. This is the smell of freedom. Too bad Michael Jackson did not live well, to enjoy your old age, playing and doing what he wanted. Tanks GILMOUR - From: Vadilson Madureira - Belo Horizonte City - BRAZIL
Amen! I'm hoping we get at least one more album out of him... I just wonder if his creative spirit is too dampened from the passing of Wright.. as I said before they fed off of each other so much.. his speech about how much it saddens him that there are songs he can't play without him anymore (so f-ing touching).. I just hope he has it in him to continue to bless the world with his voice (both metaphorically and literally)
Damn.. brings tears to my eyes to see these two, best of friends.. doing what they luv most, playing together still after sooo many years...probably knowing how badly Rick was off...still amazingly so creative.... I cant imagine the pain of this kind of loss..Rick and Dave have been souls in a great journey for so long....God speed Rick.. Awsome song... amazing Jam.
Theres so much going on here.. a Strat that has been in the same hands for decades..fingers that have shaped its tone, the rotating speakers of 30+ years ago..pedals that are decades old.. and a fretting style that cant be copied no matter how close you get...I just wish some people could realize the melding of things that your watching that only happens so very rarely. That Strat wouldnt sound the same in another pair of hands.. theres decades of relationship going on here.
I am convinced that there is no one out there who can play the guitar the way he does it. Everyone has personal taste and there are a lot of great players out there aside from him, but the way he plays.....the sound he creates.....he's the only one that can do it. No one can copy the Gilmour sound. Even if you picked up that same guitar, used the same modifications, the same amps/speakers.....it wouldn't be the same. It wouldn't be his hands, his heart or his soul.
for me this is one of the best instrumental song ever composed!!! of course it's composed by one of the greatest david gilmour helped by the great richard wright... they were really friends and they had great musical feeling...
I THINK THAT PINK FLOYD WILL NEVER BE THE SAME WITHOUT RICK... he will be missed by every pink floyd's fan...

Sir Gilmour knows how to write music.
He gets all of his friends together someone starts playing something. Nothing scripted, pure music from the soul.
Not only that, but the fond memories that are made from being with your longtime friends. Legends never die.
