@mattster468, not much. I lowered the springs a little and the additional weight of the GPS might have helped a little. However, at these speeds the car is still "controllable". If you are getting closer to 100kmph and higher area starts needing attention.

Is 2 kmh really a big difference? is it worth buying a 3s lipo?

@raZer979, Keep in mind that the 28t pinion + 3s = overheating, so install the speedpinion (23T), the difference is then 10kmph. Anyway the NiMH will drop in power/speed very rapidly and they increase the weight of your car a lot meaning more damange when crashing. 3S LiPo's are extremely cheap (~ $10) at HobbyKing and of good quality. I never liked 3S though, to fast for the small scale, not controllable (too much power) and hot electronics.

@raZer979 no professional but from personal use my esc are always colder when i use lipo's.my guess is since lipo has discharge it delivers the power so esc works less.2x nimh in serie is something i simply never do anymore even on 23/50 gear. on 3s only my motor would get hot and well u can buy a 8$ heat sink for it wich i am about to get so. traxxas makes 1400mah 11.1v 25-50c lipo's that fit directly in 1/16 its only 35$ really worth it if u ask me in paralelle on 3s 1400x2 i last 15min+

@raZer979, dirthawgs are taped, Talons not. If your wheels wobble there might be sand in them, the insert can be torn.

@cardnlNox hey buddy I have a E Revo VXL I changed the esc to a Mamba Max pro but still have the stock VXL motor I am using 2 2s lipo batteries each pack is 1600mah and my gearing is I thing stock spur but my pinion is 31T im using the parallel connector the problem is that it only hits speeds of 35 34mph I want it to go 70 50 or even 80 mph what do I need please help me buddy thank you in advanced! ! Do I need different gearing or what? ?

@HIFONICSM3, take a 3S LiPo that will give you more speed (50mph). For 60mph+ you will have to do some other modifications as well.

@tcy109, I always ran Zippy Flightmax 2S 2200mAh 20C LiPo from HobbyKing. I ran most of the time the Velineon ESC, I did switch to a CC Mamba Max though. Chargers are also available at HobbyKing for very low prices, check those out. NiMH suck I would ditch them and buy some LiPo's, they perform ten times better, are lighter and cheaper.

@sibylvane75, yes I do. It's very secure and a lot faster and easier to put on and take off the body. The differentials are definitely a weak spot on this car. I broke 2 sets both in the rear. But it also depends on where you drive and how you drive it. If you would buy aluminum bulkheads I guess that the problem will be gone for the most part.

@aronloomans, yes I had. The rear diff kept stripping. The new "x" bulkheads didn't help. I think only aluminium bulkheads will help with that. Or just sell your MERV and buy the Savage XS like I did/will do.

@N8Man1999, I have no idea. I only used them briefly for the speedrun. I personally don't like driving 3S. The electronics get to hot and there is way to much power available making the car very nervous when driving.

@hluiz509, I only run a single 2S. I don't like parralel because of the extra weight and impact it will have. I only used 3S a few times for speedruns, otherwise it's way to much power.

@iElimination, find a shop called HobbyCity. They are in Hong Kong and make real cheap and good quality LiPo's. You can use the Flightmax and Turnigy 2200mAh 20C, I believe the 25C also fits, but you have to Google that.

You CAN NOT use the serie connector with 2S (so 4S total) or 3S (so 6S total). That is to much voltage and the electronics will die. You CAN use the parralel connector, than the voltage stays the same but the mAh doubles. So 2200mAh becomes 4400mAh.

@proudveteran07, No idea about the rims, they came with my Ofna Hyper Mini STe. I secure the body with velcro's. Just put a strip on the battery doors and on the inside of the body and it's securely fastened with a second, no more annoying bodyclips to hold and loose ;).

@FASTTRAXXAS, comparing what two? Dirt Hawgs vs Talons? Why is it hard to compare. LiPo's are the bomb, super cheap and tons better than NiMH. As long as you know what you are doing they are pretty safe to use.

@swigtrick, yeah stock gearing it way to high. You can gear down to 23T that will drop down the temps. But you can also drive stock gearing (28T) op 2S. For speed comparison you can check one of my vids. I tested the different gearings with different LiPo's.

@nniicckkk1994, geen probleem. Vertanding is afhankelijk van veel dingen, denk aan ; banden, motor, esc, ondergrond, rijstijl, weer.

Traxxas zal niet zeggen dat de max 80kmph is op 4S aangezien deze wagen standaard niet meer dan 3S mag hebben. Wellicht dat je het over de E-Revo Brushless Edition (ERBE) 1/10 hebt. Dit is de Mini E-Revo VXL (MERV).

Op het kruispunt in de verte (waar ik draai) is links een speeltuin die die hadden me al even zien rijden en kwamen even kijken. Vonden het natuurlijk helemaal te gek ;)
