I know its new but its sounds like the Stones should and used to sound before all they brought in that new sound with Chuck Leavelle, that terrible horn section and the backup singers. Stones need to be bare bones...just like this.
@spawn1lts Yeah, some do. That started with their 1989 Steel Wheels tour. If you go back before that with the 1981 tour, they didn't have all that and sounded tighter. Miss that sound. Good to hear Bill Wyman back with the stones on this too. He's missed and you can defiantely tell when he's not on a song.
@satisfaction2000 Yes, it's called "Boogie 4 Stu", a tribute album for pianist Ian Stewart, a founding member of the Rolling Stones. It includes mostly boogie woogie and blues by many different musicians like members of the Rolling Stones and was iniciated by pianist Ben Waters.
this just goes to show that they still have it. Fuck I wish they would go back in the studio and write at least 1 more album. It would fuck our ear pussies easily.
This is a great reunion with Bill Wyman, and the other Stones. Ian Stewart is certainly smiling down on his " little shower shit's".......... Love it, Aloha from Hawaii.....
@77ricebowl Aloha, Kelly Green, yes I've heard Watching The River Flow, and its a classic!! As far as the "Super Heavy Group" is concerned I've only seen one video one Youtube. Most of the song's Mick writes withe Dave Stewart doesn't come close to what the Glimmer Twins can do even on their worst day. But I know Dave is a great musical writer. Aloha again, Ricebowl 77
ROLLING STONES should bringing back BILL WYMAN and MICK TAYLOR and then becoming a 3 guitars band and of course they would to do a powerfull sound than ever they did
@fenderboy211 I read on a forum that Mick Taylor wasn't there, but Bill Wyman took part and so did Mick Jagger on the last of three days. Don't know if it's true, of course.
Cool! wish there was a video of this, but since they weren't all togather to record this I guess it would be impossible. That fact sort of takes away from the meaning of the tribute also. Still a great piece of music.
Bill Wyman overdubbed his bass. He wasn't in the studio with the rest of The Stones.
This is the best I heard The Stones sound in many years.
This has a natural sound to it that hasn't been on a Stones album in years.

Just goes to show you they could do more stuff like Exile On Main Street if they wanted to, if they just had the motivation to do it.

@sequentialscenery Well this is a tribute to Stu, so I imagine a lot of the famous ego had to go out the window.

@rochebraziliano Just bringing back Bill Wyman would be good enough, it would be great.

@rochebraziliano it's already happening. Wyman and Taylor are rehearsing with the other members for a possible 50th anniversary tour.

Still rocking’ my world – I love it -
The Stones (my all time favorite rock band) doing a cover of one of my most favorite Dylan tunes - I couldn't ask for more!
*Perfection*

What's not to like? You've got all the Stones back together performing a Dylan bluesy song in memory of Stu.
