By the way, no dissing Hutch, I'm sure he knows what he's doing...but most people make the mistake of making slow DMR shots. To be GOOD you have to learn to spam 4 shots to the body, then slow the 5th shot for just a half second. Right when the reticule starts to shrink again after the 4th shot, pop the 5th into the dome and you have a perfect kill. FYI the first 4 shots can hit the opponent anywhere.

If you switch your layout to boxer style it feels a lot more like cod, it will definitely help you get more comfortable with the controls. With boxer RB is to throw grenade, reload is X etc etc that's what I used when I switched over to halo from cod. Hope it helps.
Don’t jump around when you are using semy ato weapon, it makes it hard to be accurate. Jump around when you are using a fully ato gun. Reducing your sensitivity to about 3 or 4 to help give you a steady shot.
When using the DMR or the Pistol or any semi-automatic weapon in Halo Reach aim at the forehead area to get a headshot. NOT the visor, the Forehead. This is where the sweet spot is and if you hit it right you can get 1 shot kills with the DMR.
1. More nades and better use of them. 2. More Using Radar 3. Master your DMR 4. Learn the Maps and where the Weapons are. 5. Learn when to run away and when to stay and fight 6. Crouch walk so that they can't see you on radar (if necessary) 7. Ghandi-hop (helps for some) - When you jump teabag in the air (harder headshot) 8. Learn the way people think and predict their actions. 9. Space your shots out more - Quantity < Quality of shots 10. Practice! This helped 31 people on Hutch's 1v1
Use da bumpa jumpa! with this strat you shall be able to secure ultimate victory! Default does not allow you to jump and aim simultaneously which for pros = bad =(
i used to be able to no scope like hutch but i stopped practicing and lost the skill so all you need to do is practice and you will be way better than you are now
I've been playing Halo since Combat Evolved And CoD since CoD2. The biggest difference between the two is the style. Get your grenades down is the best tip I have for you. Learn the way the bounce off the surfaces Grenade Placement is one of the biggest things you can do. Teamwork with a good team and having a steady shot is also huge. When someone is shooting at you don't think you are going to die pick the best option. Fire off a few shots or maybe run away or try to win the gunfight.
You play so much call of duty that you twitch your analog stick too much. The key to sucess in Halo is a great awareness of where the enemy team is at all times and being able to out gun someone constantly. The key to out gunning someone is a steady shot. Don't use a twitch shot, try to aim smoothly and keep your reticule at around neck height. Four shots to the body and one to the head is a kill with the DMR. Also aim directly at where you want to hit, there is no more leading your shots.

u can try and turn ur sensetivity up when u do private matches and then when u turn it back down u will have more of a steady shot cause in this and the other 1 when i watched it earlier u were all over the place and its 3 shots to the body center mass then move up to the head to finish... u also play a little to passive on the duel com... and last thing u need to eye the motion tracker its much easier now tells u if they are up or down relative to ur position so that helps alot.

H3CZ! Before you get accustomed to the default Halo controls, try switching your button layout to bumper jumper (basically you use LB to jump). When you gain a steady DMR and hit most of your shots and feel comfortable playing Halo, try switch your button layout to bumper jumper. If you have an even strafe and feel comfortable using the DMR, switching to bumper jumper allows you to throw off your enemies and win certain gunfights. I wouldnt mind if this was thumbs'd up either it would help a lot
A couple tips: 1. Don't spam! Wait at least 1 sec to start shooting again. 2. Spin your redicule in a circle fast to keep your hands loose aka Oger Twitch
learn how to strafe put your sesitivity on 3, go for 4 body shots 1 headshot with dmr, snipers always go for headshots with em, and throw a shitload of grenades when you know where they are xD
shoot the DMR as fast as you can and aim at their feet. thats how you win.

If you switch your layout to boxer style it feels a lot more like cod, it will definitely help you get more comfortable with the controls. With boxer RB is to throw grenade, reload is X etc etc that's what I used when I switched over to halo from cod. Hope it helps.

Don’t jump around when you are using semy ato weapon, it makes it hard to be accurate. Jump around when you are using a fully ato gun. Reducing your sensitivity to about 3 or 4 to help give you a steady shot.

When using the DMR or the Pistol or any semi-automatic weapon in Halo Reach aim at the forehead area to get a headshot. NOT the visor, the Forehead. This is where the sweet spot is and if you hit it right you can get 1 shot kills with the DMR.

PRO TIP: Turn you sensitivity down to 2 or 3. A steady shot in halo is much more important than in Call of Duty and this helps in achieving that.

I've been playing Halo since Combat Evolved And CoD since CoD2. The biggest difference between the two is the style. Get your grenades down is the best tip I have for you. Learn the way the bounce off the surfaces Grenade Placement is one of the biggest things you can do. Teamwork with a good team and having a steady shot is also huge. When someone is shooting at you don't think you are going to die pick the best option. Fire off a few shots or maybe run away or try to win the gunfight.

You play so much call of duty that you twitch your analog stick too much. The key to sucess in Halo is a great awareness of where the enemy team is at all times and being able to out gun someone constantly. The key to out gunning someone is a steady shot. Don't use a twitch shot, try to aim smoothly and keep your reticule at around neck height. Four shots to the body and one to the head is a kill with the DMR. Also aim directly at where you want to hit, there is no more leading your shots.

u can try and turn ur sensetivity up when u do private matches and then when u turn it back down u will have more of a steady shot cause in this and the other 1 when i watched it earlier u were all over the place and its 3 shots to the body center mass then move up to the head to finish... u also play a little to passive on the duel com... and last thing u need to eye the motion tracker its much easier now tells u if they are up or down relative to ur position so that helps alot.

tbh sensitivit over 5 isnt good in halo the lower the better dont start jumping till you are comfortable with the weapon and get your strafe down and if you wanna get good or at least above average you really have to put work into it i you like doing well you cant play this game for 1-2 hours a day

Jumping in octagon is a death trap.
Strafe, dont jump
Jumping leaves u vulnerable to HS's, and makes it harder to hold a steady shot.
Throwing grenades before the person spawns, cancels that spawn so they spawn beside u.

H3CZ! Before you get accustomed to the default Halo controls, try switching your button layout to bumper jumper (basically you use LB to jump). When you gain a steady DMR and hit most of your shots and feel comfortable playing Halo, try switch your button layout to bumper jumper. If you have an even strafe and feel comfortable using the DMR, switching to bumper jumper allows you to throw off your enemies and win certain gunfights. I wouldnt mind if this was thumbs'd up either it would help a lot
