  • So who was "Prairie Grey"? Was she related to Patrick McBride or Ray Graffia? Something had to have inspired this wonderful song.

  • Fantasic 1969 vintage New Colony Six recording!...The vocal narration was done by New Colony Six member Pat McBride, with New Colony Six group founder Ray Graffia singing the high background vocals.- Ray was also responsible for writing this song as well.-

    "Prairie Gray" was the "B" side of the NC6 single titled, "Barbara I Love You" on the Mercury label, and was also an LP track on their 1969 Mercury LP, "Attacking A Straw Man".
