  • Is this show good? I loved the movie but I'm really not sure...

  • can someone explain how the legs work

  • @Esorassen he is on his knees... so the shoes are attached to his knees

  • @Esorassen He's on his knees the whole time, but he has black pants on. He had special padding for he's knees allowing him to stay on them all night. They ( his fake legs ) attach to his knees with little clamps, so he can easily take them on or off. Hope this help :)

  • I love it ha ha ha so funny . He reminds me of the gay director in "The Producers" and love the "Wicked" bit, Classic xx

  • Put your feet on the grass clean your shoes wipe your.. Face!

Darn I was expecting something different!

  • @Destinylapinxx It's "Keep off of the grass, shine your shoes wipe your... face" just so you know.

  • microphone fail

  • anyone else notice the bad guy and his henchmen have homoerotic tendencies? good social values broadway =/

  • @PlasticAstroBoy No, I didn't notice that Farquaad or his "henchmen" were doing anything gay in this song. Maybe those are your own homoerotic feelings being projected onto this performance? Maybe you're attracted to the man playing Farquaad and you're too ashamed to admit it. But even still, what's wrong with a character who acts slightly metrosexual? It's not going to turn our youth gay because that's impossible! You're either born gay or not. Ok, I'm done with your ignorant comment.

  • haha they had wicked in it also at the end gingy said go bless us everyone like christmas carol idk i just wanted to point it out :P

  • The reason why they are laughing at the end is because in the musical "Wicked" the witch is singing "Defying Gravity" and at the end of the song she says "AND NO ONE'S GONNA BRING ME DOWN!" then that high ass note in the end.

  • PURE AWSOMENESS LOL

  • This guy has amazing stamina. And I can't help but laugh at the Duloc dance break lol

  • looks cool

  • I admire this guy, not only does he look almost exactly like the guy, but he did this whole show on his knees. That's amazing :)

  • saw it soo goood want to agin !!! :)

  • Wow!!

  • hahaha i love the wicked ending

  • AMAZING :D Going to see Shrek The Musical November 23rd at the Grand Theater in Wausau Wisconsin!!! I'm pumped for it! Haha! Farquaad is amazing!

  • Shrek The Musical was so great :). I think you have had to seen Wicked to get the last joke when he sings "and no one's going to bring me down" and then sings like Elphaba does in wicked :). Thanks for posting this.

  • I LOVE SUTTON!!!!!!!!!!! And those jokes at the begining...too funny (because of the cheese!) :D

  • the ending is WICKED!

  • they shouldve done freak flag for this, that wouldve givin them more votes. this is my fav musical!!!

  • God Bless Sutton Foster!!!

  • 'Hay Nany nany nany no' - Once Upon a Matress

  • One of the things in the beginning had her mike up way uuuup

  • sorry my bad English ....

First, I admire who plays Lord Farcuad, because I can not imagine the pain of knees.

Well, I caused much laughter that end style "wicked" joaojaojaja ...

  • @ElphabaLii he actuly has this padding on his knees so it doesnt hurt at all :)

  • AAAAAAAAAGHHHHHH the ending was UNREAL!!!

  • Is that Sutton Foster as Fiona?

  • hahaha at the ending!

  • U forgot to arrest a freak.............YOU!

  • Definately deserved best costume design. This is great!

  • I'm furious now that I didn't catch this. I thought it was going to be a typical disaster film-to-stage transfer and now it's clear that it was a total pisstake of other musicals in addition to being the Shrek story, and I should have known better. Also, I don't know how the dude who played Lord Farquaad was not in insane pain the whole time; I don't know how you pad knees to protect them enough. Tonys for everyone!

  • I saw this in London saturday and i liked it...it was great...some of the songs where great but some of them just "fillers" and could use some redo'.., that said i dont get how this won over Next to normal....(dont hate me...)

  • Is the actor that plays Farquaad on his knees for this?

  • @rubysapphire14 Yeah, he is (Y)

  • wicked, a chorus line, once upon a mattress, chicago, and is that a legally blonde reference when he says boys and they pick him up like in the number "what you want"? lol love the references <3

  • wipe your FACE HAHAHA always loved the part

  • omg i love it! hahahah

  • Are all the songs in this musical Parodies of other musicals???

  • @llewsedwod no none of them are 'nothings gonna bring me down' was just a bit of fun

  • @pingufan11 ahhh! I listened to the Broadway version and there is no Wicked pisstake :/ aha

But it has the Chorus Line, and Chicago references !

It's ace! learnt it and fucked up my knees during the process!

  • @llewsedwod lol

  • Are the bits at 3:57-4:02 and 4:06-4:10 little allusions to "A Secretary is Not a Toy" from How to Succeed?!

  • @Velociactor I think it's supposed to be an allusion to "One" from Chorus Line. The melodies and rhythms are super similar.

  • @BEZEZIK You are so right!!!!

one singular sensation.. and there's a hint of Chicago int here

  • when is chris sieber getting his tony?!?!?!

  • Hey nani nani nani naow.

  • Is the Defying Gravity ending actually part of the show, or were they showing off for the Tonys. If it's not thancit lessens my chances of seeing it.

  • @MrArtiny Yes it is , !

  • @MrArtiny its definitely a part of the show. there are puns off of tons of other shows

  • Does anyone hear Pippin in this song?

  • Minha apresentaçao vou ter que usar essa roupa ADOREI !!!!

  • I love this show:) it's sooo hilarious and the music is great:)

  • Is this Sutton Foster, who play Fiona???

  • @Sarostar16 yes indeed!

  • @Sarostar16

    yes

  • hahaaaaa being a megamega wicked fan i found this hillarious<3

  • I LOVE the wicked ending!

  • The poor guy, must have suffered from horrible knee pain.

  • Dorf would be proud

  • Do we know if the camera cut to Idina to see her reaction?

  • Haha!!! WICKEd!!!

  • Please be fond of the grass shine your shoes wipe your... face XD

  • @Nomming: So you know it`s from Wicked? I love it it`s so funny! I also love Wicked ;)

  • 3:19 - 3:22 KNEE PAIN! OUCH!!

  • This girl at the very beginning...what is up with her voice? Its scarying me.

  • Bahahahahahahahahahah xDDD *dies from laughter*

  • What does he say at 2:29? if you listen you can hear him say somethin

  • @thirteenx21 He said "pretty much"

  • I wonder what Idina Menzel thought when she saw this...

  • <3 Chris Sieber. Too funny =D

  • Cannot wait til this comes to the Pantages In Hollywood! I'm so buying an orchestra ticket!!!

  • Wicked hahahahahahahahha XD

  • hahahaha! 2009 was a great year for musicals.

  • hahahaa his wicked note at the end is sooo funny! hahaha :D i luagh every time!!!! hahaha

  • Was not expecting the Wicked spoof XD I was thinking "this kinda sucks" then that happened an my whole perspective changed!

  • Holly $hit that was amazing

  • what award did they win

  • ahahahaha! I'm just gonna say it >> .. WICKED ENDING! 8D

  • the just hurts my knees watching him...

  • This show is playing here in sf right now.

  • An actor who can dance and sing on his knees? Kudos.

  • This is pretty great!!!! And people who be cursing stop cursing that is is not Godly like!!! :\

  • Theres a gentalman who works ren faires who looks just like him in northern california... hit some small fairs, you will see him. in fact that his his nic name too... the resembalance is uncanny!

  • wasn't interested in seeing this one in London, saw this, I WANT TICKETS!

  • lol wicked reference

  • LOVE THAT ENDING.

  • I love Sutton Foster.

  • @songsparrow882 I got to see her in person in An Evening with Sutton Foster.

  • I really want to hate this show.... but this is making way too damn hard. Good performance!

  • I love the Wicked spoof at the end.

  • omg. he made fun of wicked.

  • love the small referencees...im thinking about lowering my expectations about the show...no...that was a joke ppl...

  • love the wicked reference!!! AHMAZING

  • i'm so weak at the ending!

  • haha wicked and chicago reference!!

  • look at 33 on and listen very closely chris like groans in pain? what do you think it is easy to see but hard to hear.

  • There is also a reference to Chicago in there...

  • "and no-ones gonna bring me down" thats from wicked so is the really high bit at the end, in case anybody thought they relaised that knew it

  • i cant decide whether this is good or not. :p

  • i cant decide if this is just awesome or the ebst ive ever seen.

  • Did you notice that they had the announcer girls microphone turned all the way up by accident for the first 5 seconds of Welcome to Duloc? oops

  • does anyone realize that when he goes "no one's gonna bring me down OHHHHH" that that's from wicked?

  • they have references to a bunch of broadway musicals, like the color purple, when pinochio says "I'm here" in Let your Freak Flag Show

  • yeaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh o my gossssh thats sooo true .. LOL

  • I love this!!!! Christopher Sieber is incredible. I love the whole cast!!! I just wish the sound was fixed. I remember when I was watching this live how upset I got that they had so many sound difficulties. All the actors and nominees gave fantastic performances despite the sound. <3

  • Christopher Sieber is a wonderful performer! It doesnt even faze him that his cape got stuck under his fake foot at the beginning! The Tony should have been his...

  • this is so hq it's scary.

  • haha at 3:31 when the two dancers are "picking" him up.. their faces are so funny!!

  • that's because Chris Sieber is 6'2" and weighs a good 180-200 lbs. That's why their faces are contorted.

  • This is being taken off broadway

  • i have a lot of respect for lord farquad!!

that would be hard to be on your knees dancing, even with the spaceage padding he has, that would take a lot of energy!!

  • I can't believe it's closing! I mean I'm not shocked or anything I just that it would last a little longer. O well

  • we'll let you do the mesuring

    i cnt spell lol

  • the Wicked thing at the very end make me LMAO xD! XD

  • that girl is his height and hes kneeling lol

  • hahaha piss take of wicked lol

  • Sutton is so cute! Chris Sieber is on his knees the whole show. That must hurt! I bet even on his knees he's still taller than me! He's such a good singer/dancer/ actor. Such a cute performance!

  • actually chris being on his knees dunt hurt he has a pesial pading under his knees so it dunt hurt

  • Ya he says his back hurts more than his knees.

  • yh bet it dus *sigh* i feel sorry 4 him

  • hes on his knees...\

  • really? lol

  • 2:13 to 2:14 it almost looked like he triped. but i dont think he did

  • he did. he talked about it to the audience at the show a few days later, when the set stopped working and they had to entertain the audience. :)

  • AND NO ONE'S GONNA BRING ME DOWN! AAAHAHAHAAAAAH!

    I laughed so hard!

  • HAHAH!! Idina Menzel would be proud! LOL

  • lol yh me too hahaha!

  • @Nomming yeah the first time i saw this was live and...... didnt see that coming.

  • @Nomming Poor Elphaba!!!!!

  • 1:24

  • Ha! Love the end!

  • That is beautifully camp :P they must have so much fun eight times a week lol

  • Jennifer COdy is so loud

  • the reason is cause she needs the mic for when she speeks so they had the 2 mics on actsidently so she was so loud

  • Yea

  • hahaa "no one's gonna bring me down!"

this is an amazing show! and i wonder how many knee pands farquad is wearing.......that would hurt alot, i can't imagine being on my knees an entire show.

  • omg... his knees must be soooooo soe....claps to tht my good man

  • that one number makes me wanna see shrek.hilarious!!!!!

  • EXCELLENT! Hope you'll follow through... Broadway deserves the attention (and the income!) ;^ )

  • THIS IS HILARIOUS

  • This show is just wonderful.I can`t wait to go see it.

  • Es wirkt so herrlich lächerlich wenner aus dem Tor kommt.

Aber ansonsten ein super Song und Musical

  • The entire last verse is spoofing chorus line. lol

  • Oh. My. God. The ending spoof of Defying Gravity was amazing.

  • I know right! I love how the spoof other musicals and make it work perfectly!!!!!

  • where was the omi god part?

  • Yeah! I was like, omg isn't that defying gravity xD

  • I'm so mad the sound people messed up during this performance. Minus that, it was phenomenal! It really showcased how good the ensemble members are, which I think is important. This probably wasn't the best song to do, but they've already done the other obvious ones on other shows. But hey, they rocked it and that's all that matters!

  • Oh God....so glad they recorded this show. the entire cast of godspell had to keep rewinding this part just for that last note. Awesome performance.

  • wow good quality video

  • I remember the first time I heard about this musical, my initial reaction was mixed so I asked for the actors then he said "Sutton Foster"... hmmm familiar name and at the same time I was watching season one of Flight of the Conchords XD Ah, Coco

I must say that I really love the costumes and Lord Farquad is Defying Gravity!

  • lol...I thought Christopher should have won the Tony. His knees must hurt sooooo bad!

  • *sigh* Me too, he's such a great actor and a nice guy who I was fortunate enough to meet. I didn't like how Neil Patrick Harris made fun of him during the end credits song =( But don't worry, they have his knees padded really good so he's fine =)

  • hahahaha i love the wicked part at the end

  • someone explian how they make that king guy short like that?

  • He's performing on his knees!

If you look at the ending number that Neil Patrick Harris does, he even mentions it in the song!

  • He performs on his knees and they formulate the costume from that.

  • Haha he also sing "Hey Noody Nood" That from The Pea and Princess show.. :p

  • The song "Shy" from "Once Upon A Mattress". ; )

  • @JohnAdamsDC Yah.. :) Saw the song from You tube too sang by Sarah Jessica Parker in Tony Awards also.

  • @autowil The song is called Shy, and it opens with "Hey nonny nonny is it you?" The show is Once Upon a Mattress.

  • i like the wicked part!!! :) sooo funny

  • I love this!

  • Chris should play Elphie! He would be great. I was a little disappointed they did this song, but hey, its still Shrek. So I was happy with anything.

  • it's a joke of the musical wicked

  • i haven't seen Shrek the Musical and just wondered if the Wicked part at the end of this song is actually part of it or it was just for this performance?

  • The Wicked joke is in the Broadway show... I think Chris dose an awsome job with it though!! lol
