if i were to turn both pickup switches to the off position, should I still be able to get sound when plugged in? My 414 doesnt produce any output signal when both switches are off...is that normail

I have about 6 to 7 Taylor CE guitars ranging from 2002 -2008 in various models from 414ce - 910ce and I am sorry Taylor but the ES system is horrible. I have been through a few amps and nothing sounds good. Unplugged, they all sound wonderful given their natural wood tone characteristics but when plugged in, it is so hard to dial in a usable not tinny bright sound. I have a pre-ES Taylor 910ce with the Fishman and that one sounds great with EB Earthwood 12s on it unplugged and plugged in.

Hi, what can i do if i cant hear my guitar from an amp/headphones?its got new duracell batteries in it.

Taylor Guitars sound like like shit plugged in. It doesn't matters which model you have. They all sound wayyyyyy to bright.

I love the expression system. I put this up against a fishman aura system. Somehow I still prefer this system alot better. Great job taylor

The ES system is very good, because it also is able to pick up percussion. However, not as strong as other systems :)
