She has a vocal range of at least 3 octaves some notes in the nightwish song fantasmic are D'' or E''. By comparsion I used to sing in school I was a contra-tenor I can't do that I could sing this one song it had a G' it hurt like hell and that's higher pitch than a lot of sopranos

@Htown20XX when you use classical technique all sopranos can sing up to an C6. Some of them reach A6 and it`s quite normal. but a lot of women who have soprano timbre, can`t understand how to sing those notes... but physically they can. I have heard much lighter voices than mine that can`t sing a proper E5.

@Adzerk I doubt that. As curious as it sounds, you can trace the date by listening to Tarja's voice and try to notice at what stage of its developmente it was. In this songs, it is soft and yet it still has a distintive "operaish" sound. She started using that voice from 2004 on. And "Tag und Nacht", Schiller's album is, in effect, from 2005.
