It doesn't make sense because in the film, they had to detonate the bomb before "Zero Barrier" which was a deadline to where after that point the asteroid (or even two halfs) would have struck Earth 3 hrs and 57 mins later. Harry didn't blow the bomb right before Earth's impact...he blew the bomb about 3 hrs and 57 mins before.
