ya well it ain that easty when the cornerbacks can just grab your jersey and use your momentum to throw you, i dont know about your guys DB's but with mine if i try to puch forward on them, they just grab my jersy and throw, i gatta stay low and with them not force them backwards
To block effectively, place yourself in between the DB and the ball carrier. Don't block him right off the line because then the DB will then know there is a run coming this way, therefore you are blocking him. Fake like your running a deep route, but always stay in front of the DB and don't run past him. When he figures out it's a run and tries to get past you, give him a good push, forcing him inside if the play is going out, and vice versa. After the initial contact, continue to push him back
I'm 13 and play wr for the 130's and wr and de,dis mi 4th yr playing football but mi first yr play wr I used to play te...I need help blocking and taking a hut cuz as soon as u to that ball u gettin killed. I'm nit scared it's just the impact from bigger people.help plz
@swaggaholic120 i know how u feel bro im WR i have trouble blocking and takin those massive hits as soon as u get the ball will hurt...just remeber as u c the ball coming scan the area if ur surrounded keep ur eyes on the ball catch it tuck it in then curl up in2 a ball and take the hit if not then catch it tuck and turn up field...ur upperbody can take the hit its ur lower body that hurts more...
i play in canada as a wide out, when you block, you just wanna drill him when you make contact, knock him on his ass if you can, then hold him up, this is the panzy way. plus we run 80% running plays at Junior level, this would get you murdered
this guy dosen't even know football if u block the guy on the numbers and he turns ur allowed to continue blocking and shoving his back or shoulder pads or wherever if u don't start off blocking his front then ya its a hold. and thats the worst block i've ever seen u have to get lower, ur legs produce more strength.
i play receiver too. if its a run play, ill stop and lure the cornerback (trying to make a play on the RB) then once i see him go after the ball, i light him up and take him out of the play.
im a slot reciever, and im usually one of the smallest guys on the field...i've found it easier to almost take a sumo wrestling standpoint. If you are smaller or weigh less than the person you are blocking...put your head right on his numbers and just grip tightly on the inside of the jersey. this works for me because since im the inside reciever i almost always block a linebacker or Strong safety
if anyone wants to be good at block as a wr do this....
run out to him and whatch which way his cut first dont force him where u want tho. then we he goes to the left or right of you just put both ur hands on the side of his pads and push it works every time. usually it will knock them over depending how hard u push his pads up
@sliceobread wait so i dont understand, lets say they cut left do i hit his pads on the right side from my perspective?? or do i just keep hitting him and force him in?
Honestly as long as you get a body on a defender it's up to the running back to make a play the only people on the field that should have a technique to block are the linemen. I play reciever and the best thing to do is to head butt the corner, put your hands in his chest and drive.
man al you 6.0 foot niggas got it good im like 5.5 113 what the fuck could i play got real good hands good speed i can juke but because of my hight i cant hit plz help 4 real
haha yea...thats true...im a lineman and we have a running back that likes to change directions all the time...which is the worst back that you can have when your a lineman...because you never know where he is...then your coach yells at you like no other....
Alright, I need some help. Im 15 years old. 6'0, and 140 pounds, and I have pretty good hands. Im not sure on what position I could play, can someone help me out.
depending on the play call, I usually teach my WRs to take the defender wherever he wants to go and let the runner cut off my block. On your video, it would b a harder block to the outside if the defender was aligned inside the WR.
So true kid

if the cornerbacks starts to run at the time where the receiver blocks first the hands of the receiver will break.

That may work but it puts you at risk for clipping if he turns his shoulder completely.
Jman16119 2 years ago
yea thats why its important you are quick you need to move fast once you see which way he decides to go.

headbutting? like facemask hit or driving your head. Kind of unothrodox but whatev...
nestorv69 2 years ago
that only works on weak corners

or swim u or push u down

Yeah, thats what my coach teaches us, but he also says that it's good to get to the outside because there are less defenders in the exterior.
