doctors saved my life just in time three year ago (2007) , just found out that I have only have about seven more years to live . this will be one of the songs that i will have my children play at my funerel. love thes song.
Somehow i got a hold of a Material Issue promo pack in the early 90's, included the cassette IPO, interview, & picture. I was more of a rocker in the 80's but this was a nice "intro to the 90's" band, great hooks, melodies, and harmonies!
Gordon Downie of The Tragically Hip, met Jim Ellison while on tour. He later wrote a song in tribute of him after his apparent death. The song is called "Escape Is At Hand For The Travellin' Man. Look it up, and listen to the song, it's great.
met jim and the band in 93 when they came and played our mall in bloomington. i waited forever to be able to meet them and especially jim. i took his pic and told him straight to his face that i appreciated the music and the songs that he wrote and that they spoke to me. that was 17yrs ago and i just learned about his death today. saddened. but glad i was able to share with him how i felt about his music.
Stop dwelling on Jim's death. They were way ahead of their time. I went to college with Ted and Jim, They were on the cusp of stardome. Way better than Smashing Pumpking at this point in their careers. I Miss them!
If you have something to say about the great Jim or his band members send me a PM with your history to post it here on the video text description as tribute for him & MI.
Very hardly but if you close your windows outside you can sofocate yourself until death for lack of O2 if your car is bad ventilated inside and possible by CO2 too.
saw them a few times, they were sadly ahead of their time, as the window of success would have been the later part of the decade. They were very infectious live, and their first 2 albums had no waste.
These guys were my favorite band in high school. I cried when I heard Ellison commited suicide years later. I had a chance to see them live with my now husband, but I didn't go. He went without me...
Jim, Thank You for the memories!!!
I miss You!!!!

this band was not about suicide. you'd do well to take that word off the title. nobody's searching for it.

They were up there, at Beatles level. Too bad the band didn't live long enough to show the world.

To die from CO suffocating, you must be inside a garage? Can't someone for example "breathe" it from his own car but like parket outside?
