@architectus777 Well, you said that drawing without tablet is like drawing with a rock. Once you learn the right technique for that, you can draw just as good as with a tablet.
@architectus777 are you shitting me you can NOT draw with a mouse. unless its COD. btw I purchased this tutorial some time ago and I really recommend it to everyone.
@CT2507 First of, learn proper grammar. And why shouldn't i compare mouse to tablet? I bet i can draw better with mouse than you with a 1000 dollar tablet.
PS. That Rolls-Royce reference doesn't make any sense.
@TheEsaful first of, english is not my mother language, so i dont realy care about the grammar see... my english is good enough to get the point across, and im sure u understand it just fine dickhead.
second, u can try do draw my balls with your mouse, and if they look right, ill give u a 1000 dollars so u can buy a tablet! :)
and thirdly, the Rools reference doesnt make sense to u, cause u are a snotty kid.
@TheEsaful i never blamed u for anything. is that what u are used to?... people blaming u? u probably dserve it too, seeing what kinds of messes u get intangled in.
understand pea brain. if u attempt to redicule people for being good with a drawing tablet, u only show how stupid u are. no one is going to take that serious. not grown ups anyway.
@CT2507 When did i ever "redicule" people :D? And its kinda ironic how you call yourself a "grown up". Playing video games and arguing with teenagers at your age. Shame on you!
@TheEsaful could be that i was playing video games for a reason. could be i was working in the gaming industry and i make it my business to know about games.
yea, it seems arguing with the teenagers of today is truly a waste of time. u juveniles are getting dumber and dumber.
@CT2507 Oh noes. Your unique speech made me speechless! Looks like i have to be the grown up here since you're just a manchild. I won't answer or even read your next comment. Farewell, enjoy your crappy life :)
@TheEsaful I've seen people do awesome stuff with white rock (drawing on stone tablets) but that is hard to do and isn't as good as a pencil on paper for many reasons I shouldn't have to list.
So I think saying drawing with a mouse is like drawing with a rock is a good way of putting it, you can do it but dear god that's like drawing with a rock.
And let me break that down: Rock and mouse: not designed for art but you can do it.
You know I can do manually but to do it digital has been a nightmare. I did take a few tips from your video. I guess you can treat it like real paint! Hmm... you have been subscribed.
In every single tutorial, no one ever tells you the exact pen their using, its opacity or strength, just leaves me lost, youve got this lovely multi tone look going on there but when i do the same thing like if i select a dark grey on multiply, each shade is too distant from the one before it, it looks tacky, i really dont get it, and i wouldn't be surprised if ive confused you coz its hard to explain the issue im having
I just found you. I have a 12 w cintiq coming and this trailer is Fantastic ! Your techniques are clearly explained and slow enough for me to follow along. This is a major jump start. Love the realism you have achieved, I'm getting this. Thank you very much.
what do you mean "this is a photograph reference"? "you can find it on google"?
i can't find it... i purchased your 5 buck tutorial and i appreciate the video and your excellent effort... however, it's kind of lame when the reference photograph of the principle subject is not included as a high resolution jpeg... how bout including it on your tutorial page or supplying a link fer cryin' out LOUD!
as a beginner i have no idea what he's doing. why is he painting in black and white? suddenly, without warning theres a (B&W) pear painted and partially rendered. why? why is this called a beginner vid? he talks of color but uses black and white....then all of a sudden without explanation its in color! who the hell voted this a good video? can we get a beginning middle and end pal....how bout some clarity with that as well.
@RushEpoo Yeah if you look at the top you can see his media bar for Camtasia, he click forward in the video quite a bit. I think its awesome you would make this video only $5, most seem to cost more. I will probably purchase in the future. Thanks Architectus!
@RushEpoo because black&white and color are the same thing. They are just variation of value the reason hes painting in black in white it to make sure he has strong values of light and dark. It helps the painting pop out.
@RushEpoo because black&white is the same thing as color. they are just variations of value. But the reason he using black and white is to insure he has strong values then he will go over it with color.
@drewswift i understand your point Drew however that point is not made clear at all in this video. just because you understand that black and white sometimes makes a painting "pop out" doesnt mean the "beginner" will understand that personal observation. a teachers responsibility is to make things understandable to all of the students, not just the advanced ones like yourself. In fact, the comments are giving me far more information than this poorly instructed video is. (nice pear though)
@RushEpoo This isn't an instruction video, though. I thought that is clear if you listen to this demo. LIke I say in the video, it is a demo for an instructional video, which you can buy for $5 and download instantly. In the video, I do explain that black makes things receed and that white makes things pop out, and how that is relative to the values around them. But why would you expect to learn from a demo, which is only used to promote the actual video?
@architectus777 Um,where is the word "Demo" in the title? id not have watched it if i knew it was an "Ad". if i posted a video of, say, how to speak spanish for beginners and had some dude rattling off a poem in french with his back to the audience then, some dude who speaks spanish signs on and says "its just an instructional vid, he's speaking french to give you an idea of language and hes got his back turned so his mouth doesnt distract the viewer. he says it in verse 2. now pay $5, its bad
@explosivosatomics he is saying that you have to click the " alt key and then to pick up this color by touching with your tablet or click with your mouse. But if you try to paint with your mouse is like trying to paint with a rock, so I don't recommend it . Now I'm just lightly pushing up this in color in a circle direction..." End is kinda hard to understand but I think this is what he meant :)
This is DEFINETELY worth $5, what can you get for that these days... its helpful beyond belief :) havent finished watching it all yet - I do have quite a short attention span ;) but it already looks quite good. Thanks Neil.
very nice.. i set up a lot of my 'non-digital' paintings on my computer first using various methods, ie; collage, photoshop, illustrator, etc. your channel has so many areas of great tips for helping make my process more fun and then having great usable art left over from the projects. thanks for all the great videos.
why is everyone spelling PEAR wrong?! guys wtf... basic knowledge of the english language wouldn't go a miss...

@TheEsaful right!... haha... no real illustrators, or digital artist would even consider to waste time on drawing with a mouse! u are an idiot.
how will u even begin to compare a mouse with a pen and tablet!? its like comparing your brains with a Rolls Royce.
