I remember that morning, I was having my breakfast and listening to radio as usual before going to school. They said Freddie died, I was not able to talk, just I was listening and couldnt believe it. This is probably the best love song John ever wrote. It was written for the movie Highlander, a movie which itself carries plenty of love and emotion. Even if you can only get a small amount of love and have to lose it, it's better than to never have love at all.
