Listen to me, I respect the rights of everybody, they should have the right to smoke, but I live in an apartment and I have four neighbors on all sides of me that smoke and I can't even leave my windows open for a second without smoke coming in, its stupid. If you want to smoke and get cancer, all that good stuff, do it some where else so it doesn't harm other people. AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO MOVE BECAUSE OF SOMEONE ELSE'S HABIT. There aren't any restaurants that specify an absolute absence of smoking. There are smoking/non-smoking sections, but they are never filtered.

Discouraging smoking isn't a belief, it's self-preservation. A basic human instinct.

Also, you're just as guilty of trying to shove your "beliefs" down the throats of others as any non-smoker for that comment, alone. Score one for hypocrisy.

Before the smoking ban, NO you could not. Before the ban, I had not seen any restaurants and especially bars that chose not to have smoking. I think you should have some places that allow smoking and some places that don't. Otherwise people who do not want to choose to be around smoking have no place to go, and are forced to either be around smoking or stay at home. Its not fair for you to ask them to stay home if they don't want to be around smoking.

Agreed. Tobacco companies, in my opinion, needed to pay for years of witholding inforamtion, particularly about tobacco being addictive, and they did. If someone wants to open a premises to cater for the consumption of a LEGAL product, it is FOR NO ONE to prohibit them, not even the government. I'm a non-smoker yet I am against anti-smoking laws. If people think second hand cigarette smoke is deadly, what about the carbon monoxide in MUCH LARGER AMOUNTS from the car exhaust pipes?
