You're taking it too literally, this song ISN'T ABOUT SUICIDE. The '45' is a metaphore for the world. Its about overcoming and moving forward and accepting who you are. Just wanted to get that out there so you could understand this amazing song better.
I think of it as a sight through time... as he looks through the barrel he sees the next life... and all of the verses are things that has happened leading up to the looking down the barrel

@Darreck3 I interpret the same thing too. At the moment I have clinical depression that has driven me to attempt suicide once and constantly plan it out. I haven't lost anyone, my problem is that I've never had anyone. I would have found a way to not fail at it if I didn't have music. All I want is someone to hold me at night, but I don't have someone. Music will have to do for now.

To me, this song represents when we are a child, we are so innocent and intuitively know what the world is about, as we grow older we get taught into the "real" world. As we look back we want to remember what the world is truly about and the connection we once held so strongly. .Great video <3.

Reminds me of when the heroes in my stories get to the point in their adventures in which things are so fucked up for them that plenty of them are on the verge of giving up; I usually have this song play in my head when one of them actually does their own self in, and the others struggle to cope with the death of their friend. Not sure which person it winds up being, yet, though there's a chance that they're not completely gone (since the genre's sci-fi fantasy-ish)....

Reminds me of when the heroes in my stories get to the point in their adventures in which things are so fucked up for them that plenty of them are on the verge of giving up; I usually have this song play in my head when one of them actually does their own self in, and the others struggle to cope with the death of their friend. Not sure which person it winds up being, yet, though there's a chance that they're not completely gone (since the genre's sci-fi fantasy-ish)....

one thing i want to say about the 425 dislikes (not a hate comment don't worry), why do you dislike videos? even if you do have a different taste in music theres no point in disliking a good video because of it. i don't go on justin bieber videos and dislike his videos just because i don't like his music. if you don't like the music just click or type in a video that has music that you do like without having to dislike a vid others like :) we can play nice lol.
