  • Wow,incredible victory of love over nature.

  • I wish I could get a hug from a lion.

  • Big thanks to Virginia McKenna and her husband Bill Travers who played Joy & George Adamson in the epic film "Born Free." They had a hand in getting Christian to George in Africa. They were so moved by working with the lions they began to champion the cause and dedicated the rest of their lives to these magnificent animals.

  • you know you're badass when a pride of lions accepts you as one of their own

  • The old guy was George Adamson and was well known for hand rearing Elsa the LIon Cub George and Joy did warn the men that Christian may not recognise him. If a trained zoologist doesn't know that George had sucessfully hand reared elsa and reintroduced her into the wild and he was well respected in Kenya for protection of the said species

  • this just gave me goosebumps cause i share the same last name as the guy at the end.....on a lighter note at the beginning of the vid i felt like austin powers when he couldnt control the sound of his voice when i was reading the caption=)

  • George, o rei da Floresta !

  • animals dont have long memory? wth what about dogs, cats, or monkeys?WHO ARE TELLING YOU THESE LIES!!! >=( nice and heart warming story btw =D

  • i cried when I saw the full episode of this clip.

  • Beautiful. nothing less.

  • i almost cried i swear, i hope my cat loves me..

she hasnt got much more choise

  • is it a true story?because i thought animals don't have a long memory....

  • @pappflora12 all animals have incredibly long memories. it is the 2 leg animals (humans) who like to believe they don't. that's how people get round getting rid of animals who are no longer convenient. If u wish 2 carry on believing that never take on the care of any other animal.

  • @kipperwacker

well my teacher taught me that animal's don't have a long memory...how can i know if it's true or not?

Any other man/woman can lie without you knowing it!

  • it is just amazing!

  • yesss it is verry nice but it stay's a lion

  • John and Ace were so privileged to have known and raised this wonderful lion - and to have retained that friendship in this joyous manner is indeed humbling. I am afraid human beings - the most destructive of God's creation the predator to be most feared - are hell bent on destroying this world of ours. - on killing and wiping out species of animals - of taking from the earth & not putting anything back. Let us take hope from the love in this clip & learn from a wonderful Lion called Christian

  • *wipes tears away*

  • wow wow wow that all i can say, if Animal can show emotion like this why are we human so inhuman to ourselves, let make the world a better place we have no other place sept this one , love is the only key to the problem of the world, christian show love to Muslim and Muslims, let try live by our name peace not war and bombs one love will keep us together peace to the world, may be Animal should take over lol

  • It's these kinds of videos that make you see that there is still hope in the world.

  • ... how

  • I used to think so....but really there isnt....i lost hope....we are going to fuck up this world and there is no way to stop it.....

  • the names of the owners of christian were called ace bourke and john rendall u should do better research

  • one can never say thet animals have noe feelings, after watchin' this

  • In the beginning he was like: Who are they? And a couple secconds later: Oh God, those are my friendzz :D

  • I have wached all the beautiful videos of Chirstian the lion and all of them have touched my heart.i have the book called A lion called Christian. Thank you for all who donate to help and care for the lions.

  • that is one amazing story..

    unbelievable.. incredible.. wow..

one can actually see how the lion hugs and sorta snuggles with those guys..

incredible victory of love over nature..

    thank you for the video

    truly awesome

  • Christian: "Dudes take me back home. It's too rough out here." :-p ... Love the story!

  • Big cat there. Those things could hurt you pretty badly even when playing around or showing affection just like that!

  • Who is that other lion ? christians girl or something ?

  • That's right

  • @ShitAtheneSux Yeah. She's his wife.

  • Amazing, it gives goose pimples.

What a lesson for all of us.

Could you please tell me what's the music on this clip? It really macthes with the video.

    Thanks

  • thats kitty is so happy lol its fucking awesome im gettin a caracal kitten in a couple months i hope i have that good of a relationship with it :)

  • I watched the 1 hour documentary on Perths CH 7 TV the other night. It was an incredible testimony how love conquers all and the bond that existed between Ace and John even after a eyar apart. Sadly Christian has long gone to that animal heaven in the sky as this was over 40 years ago

  • I like this video and the music, the other videos like in "The View" they play "I dont want to miss a thing by Aerosmith" and it sounds very corny with the video....5 stars to this one

  • I saw the full length story on TV. What a remarkable, loving relationship between man and beast. It truly touches the soul and one I will not forget.

  • Stop with all the sad faces!!! At the end Christian grows and has a family of his own :) watch the full story........even though it is sad when the other lion died...

  • Little did Christian the lion know how great an impact he made between mankind and beast.

  • heartwarming

  • sad face

  • Comment removed

  • Whaa... : , (

John and Tony have STRONG hearts... i could never do that! :( Its soooo sad, i cried

  • this is soo sad... i wish i had my own lion, im gunna get me one:)

  • because a lot of people seen it for the first time, & it wasnt 1989 assole >:(

  • This is not a hoax. If you really want to know, research it a bit further. This did happen. But the people were not strangers to Christian, they raised him from a cub, but released him into the wild. This is their meeting with him a year later. The lion simply saw them as part of his pride.

  • what channels the documentry on

  • it's not a hoax, they lived with it in their flat while they were students. There is a documentary on it tomorrow. Don't know why anybody would cry over this though, maybe it's the sappy music.

  • I love this. It was on the news for a secont so i desided to look it up.... Now i cant stop crying. It's beauitful.

  • I cried too when I discovered how many people fell for this hoax.

  • you suck!

  • omg I saw this on Oprah.. I had to look it up and I cried.....its beauitful.

  • I saw this on Oprah, too...after she stopped blocking my view. But it's fake.

  • I'm crying, too! This has to be the most wonderful thing I have ever seen...

  • Too bad these are actors with trained lions. What's the weather like in Serbia?

  • the guys names are john & ace ... not tony

  • the guys names are john & ace .. not tony

  • i cant stop crying...................

  • amazing....

  • woooonderful!!!

  • A wonderful return to Eden.

  • I must admit the song wants to make me cry lol and who is george adamson is he one of the guys who looked after the lion if so im said to hear he's dead , and this proves that animals and humans have same emotional feelings and but for this to happen animals must be incontact with humans as cubs because the cubs can befriend humans easier this way.

  • They weren;t untrained. These two men had raised them since they were cubs.

  • True. I believe a lot of people are thinking this lion had a lot less human contact than it really did.

  • I agree; the way this video is filmed makes it seem as if they just walked on in there randomly, but it just so happens that they have raised him from when he was a cub therefore it remembered them after a year.

  • True

  • it was trained. obviously you couldnt walk up to completely wild ones. but this proves they can be tamed

  • This is incredible , this video is ,,,,, :X made me cry :) i cant belive my eyes ,

  • This is the most wonderful video I have ever seen. It made me cry.

  • i want to be huged by a lion!!!!!!!

  • Can you still buy lion cubs at department stores? lol

But really this is so touching.

  • my page is done!

  • PsCruk you suck. THA IS SO CUTE and yeah...

  • those two men weren't named tony and john...

    ?

  • Ace Bourke and John Rendall

  • Why does it say they were named Tony and John?

  • Hi,

I believe it is because Ace's real name is Anthony, Which Tony

is short for Anthonly, and then I believe Ace is his "nickname"

Much Love & Light to you and your family! And John is John

  • germandude76: so?

  • here is a quote from a proffesional zoologist:

" A wild born female would not approach a group of humans and camera crew like that, regardless of how Christian was acting. It is possible she was a hand raised/reintroduced lion too, though.

Lions are extremely aggressive if you cross their comfort zone."

and I would like to add:this lion did not live in the wild, but in a RESERVE with regular contact to humans (notice the old guy who presumably led the two brits to the lion)

    be aware of schemes

  • do you mean the old man - george adamson? do you know why he was murdered? i would love to have a lion or tiger for a pet, but i know that is impossible and they belong in the wild with their pride.

  • George Adamson was murdered by poachers,

  • I already mentioned that the lion was released in a reserve. Kay thx bai.

  • @germandude76 everyone knows that already, the beautiful part of the story and the point of it is that they were told the lion would have no recolection of them, but he rememberd the love he got from them and never forgot

  • This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. God bless people like this guys.

  • that always happens to me when i visit my lion.....

  • It isnt actually so big thing lion is like a dog when you raise him...

  • kill yourself

  • his american thats why people!

  • damn right

  • lol, you idiot am writing about some dickhead who commented on here! I know they are Aussies!

  • you sure you should be on here watching a video of kindness and friendship with words youve written? Knd of Nazis thing to say!

  • Hm, I said, not to act american, you felt insulted calling me an idiot.

And you call me a Nazi? You haven't the slightest, what a Nazi truly was.

You may be british in nationality, but a true american at heart.

There, I've insulted you again, buhya me evil. You can go "wah wah whine whine" now.

  • your weird

  • They were Australians, living in London.

Don't act Amrican! Inform yourself before posting bullshit!

  • I swear this video could change the world. Its incredible!

  • the movie is so cute

  • I wonder what happened to these 2 guys..

  • Type in; "Christian the Lion owners on The Today Show" and you will see a very recent interview with John Randell & Anthony "Ace" Bourke 35 years later.

  • That's some heartwarming stuff

  • the life of tigers and life its self to the tears of god ilove it it good

  • thats mad, Harrods used to sell lions!!!!

crazy, all i can get now is really really expensive shoes..i want a lion!!

  • What a fantastic story of love and bonding! Christian is a gift of nature.

  • that is amazing

  • lovely - a real tear jerker.

  • love is the greatest thing this world has to offer!

  • well the reason why they are wild animals is because they can't be cute and friendly in a wild place. THEY KILL TO EAT AND LIVE! only HUMANS that i don't understand why they have to kill other human beings without any reason, or i may be say they kill for pleasure..

  • im a bit worried about solid snake ,he seems to be an arse .....love satan.

  • Great, realy great!I love lions!!!

  • commovente!!!! bellissimo video!

  • I think the bond people have with animals can be such a positive thing. I am a vet tech. and I see so much cruelty in the world.. please people spay and nueter your pets as animals are dieing in shelters, due to overpopulation. I just had to add that, as if you love animals and this video please do the right thing.. I too enjoyed seeing the bond here.

  • Solid snake... learn to use punctuation and correct spelling...

This video is awesome. Coolest, sweetest thing i have seen. Big old lion like that, turned pretty much into my little house cat. High five.

  • beutiful does make u wanna cry aniamls remeber there owners they just have a scent and when he seen that boy smile instantly like pure love animals can be good creatures how u treat them weather thell turn but animals have there own kingdom for aniamls god has his kingdom which is heaven for humans so animals and humans go to diffrent places when they die animals where sacrifies back in the day for food love animals though good ones bugs can die

  • dude wtf r u tryin to say..use fullstops

  • I saw the men interviewed on TV a few hours ago.

This was over 30 years ago,and they said they have no idea what happened to Christian. They do not know if he is alive or dead.

  • PUT DOWN?

    Your fucking stupid.

This made me cry it was so cute.

    I loved it.

  • Hey Solid.........what you're saying might kinda make sense if you do it sober next time.

  • u mean this 2 guys are still around, i wanna see them and hear them talking about Christian.

  • r u a fuckin retard?? PUT DOWN?? Fuck You.

  • wow... did you not pay attention at all?

  • that made me cry and it was so cute

  • i cried. the text you put in was so heartwarming. GR8T VIDEO! LOVE IT!

  • the lion only hugged the guy wit the yellow shirt lol the guy in the blue tried to get sum action but was denied

  • if u watch Christian the lion REUNION! HUG! it lasts for 6:38 u'll see that the one in yellow shirt taught Christian how to give big hug like that and Christian never forget that, and that made me cry harder !

  • The man in the yellow shirt also seems to be Christian's sort-of favorite.

  • georg adamsonb was killed by sommalians.

  • John Rendall & Anthony Bourke (Ace Berg)

Get the names right b4 u show other people's stuffs....

  • oh i love that video! how sweet is that!?!

  • Hmmm. I love Britain for its multiculturalism. Should I still join?

  • These two young men should be John Rendall and Ace Berg.

  • so touched......love,love......

  • wrong names putz

  • What's the difference between animals and humans...the ANIMALS they kill to eat and live, and HUMANS they kill for pleasure.

  • hear ya garfield. humans reallyare selish beings

  • I pray now that every one who has intentionally harmed, abused, abandoned or any other form of abuse, be forgiven. Please think about the actual inelect of an animal. They are more cognitive than given credit for.

    CBC

  • i'm pretty sure u have their names wrong

  • it's a very touching story, couldn't stop the tears from flowing. I've seen it a million times and cry every time I see it.

  • El leon se murió? no fué George?

no jueguen, Cristian se murio???buaa estoy llorandooo

  • no fue george el que se murio. you tambien llore un monton

  • There was another tearful reunion and another romp. The next day Christian walked back into the bush, where his lionesses were waiting. He was never seen again — but the power of the Internet guarantees he will never be forgotten.

  • read the whole story...A last farewell

But in 1974, Adamson lost touch with Christian for three months. When he told Rendall and Bourke, they decided to make one last trip to Kenya to try to say goodbye to their old friend.

  • I just can't stop the tears flowing. Unconditional love is a blessing I hope every person gets to experience once in their life.

  • It's amazing how touching that is.

  • This story took place over 35 years ago. Male lions in the wild usually can live for 12 years. This was a "real time" documentary. You can watch all 10 parts on youtube.

  • This is so touching! I had to go and watch the documentary about Christian that was uploaded by Irridescent. Took forever to watch because it's in 10 segments but so worth it!

  • just 2cute

  • This brought tears to my eyes.. It just shows that love and affection can go a long way.

  • I can only hope that the men that killed Christian got justice from his beloved lions..

what a sad tragedy, why can't people let the beauty in the world alone?

  • Oh my God, Christian was killed? I didn't know that. Where did you read that? Crap, now I'm really crying. How horrible. I'm heartbroken. I agree with you, why can't people let the beauty in the world alone. How long ago was he killed? RIP Christian. :(

  • I am not sure where Jacquetee got that information. Christian was not killed. Adamson and two of his assistants were killed by poachers in 1989. Not the lion.

  • Thank you so much! I did hear about Adamson. That was awful news. Horrible. Damn Poachers. I sincerely appreciate you telling me this. I love animals and very much lions, tigers, etc. This story is so beautiful and to even fathom a tragic ending was heartbreaking to me. Thank you sooo much. You just put a big smile on my face, besides I do hope Christian is well. Actually I believe he is. :)

  • Christian wasn't murdered, George, who spent his life rehabilitaing lions, was. Did you see the photo at the end of the video of George and Christian? Christian is obviously much larger, older and has his full mane.

  • just like some of you I just saw this on the view. This was so heartwarming it really does prove that it dosent matter if its a whild animal or not as long as you show love and effection.

  • Christian was a special lions. All lions, and felines have different personalities, as do people. It's a wonderful story though. But, lions are wild animals, and grow into enormous creatures. Beautiful though they are, they should never be pets. Even though I would love that, I reluctantly respect the wild and would not be so selfish. This does not mean those two men were selfish, after all Christian was sold like furniture from Harrod's!!?? Sheesh.

  • I saw this on the view also and couldn't stop crying. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story. True love of animals cannot be described in words. People can now acctually see for themselves what it is like.

  • yeah, i just saw it in the view also, that i had to look it up

the tears just rolled down my face

    so touching!

    bye<33333
