i have 2 questions: 1: which game maker would you recommend (freeware) that could make a good fighting game? say, for example, if i wanted to make a homer vs peter game. and 2: is what would be teh best game maker for making rpg's (not so worried about 3d but i might need it.)?
@metroidfannumber1 alright 1: For a fighting game i would use Game Maker Pro although it isn't freeware, if your like me you will crack it though. Game maker Pro is a pretty flexible system and i reckon if you have the sprites and pictures you should use it. 2: Now there are a few for RPGs. Now if you want the fun type of RPG where you run around pick up weapons and fight then you want the 001 engine (it can jump too) if you want one like Final Fantasy RPG maker XP or eclipse for multiplayer RPG
@Zei33 huh, that's a little helpful(on the rpg part). i tried to look for m.u.g.e.n. for windows, but i couldn't find the program anywhere. i thought it would be cool because i see all these videos with goku vs homer simpson vs peter griffin vs spongebob vs patrick star vs the giant chicken vs.. well you get the picture. i guess game maker 8 can do all that right?

@Zei33 i don't know. i was hoping you would. if you were to look up m.u.g.e.n. on youtube you'll get all these gameplays of different fighting games with different fighters and different attacks. i can't find a download for this game maker so i wasn't sure if you knew about it.

please tell me you did not say that gm is the best game programming program i can find it is specifically made to program games all though if you want to make good games you need sprites a knowledge of variables and of course you need to know gml

8 isn't a very major release it's just that the games made with it are programmed with C++
