This was filmed in my hometown [Novato,Ca}. The look of the town has completely changed. For instance, the scene where the kids are playing football is now a mall. The blue houses {which were used during WWII by the army} have been torn down and replaced with new homes. The kids school is in fact Novato High School and the scene where they go to the movies is an old theatre right downtown. Sadly, It hasn't been used since they filmed this movie {they are now trying to fix it up and reopen it}.
