  • Dear Justin, you must have the most beautiful and sensuous voice in creation, along with John Lodge, No matter what you two sing, I get shivers down my spine, I had never heard your version of this song until now, and though I liked David Essex's version, it is dead compared to this.... thank you for the video.. thanks thanks thanks

  • @holbillybt SO,so true !!! Their voices ARE the Moody Blues !!! Why these guys are NOT in the R& R Hall of Fame is a crime !!!!!

  • It reminds me of my ex girl friend... especially when she turned me down on my proposal. Really hurts.

  • Try to beat the Moody Blues on any song. Impossible.

  • @pikkiecrous You nailed it my friend...they are one of the world's greatest musical gifts

  • AppleCorp3- You, my friend, are an idiot. If you don't like such a beautiful song & video why don't you just shut your hole!

  • I much prefer " The Moody Blues" version of " A Winters Tale", to David Essex's version. Sang, and performed perfectly. Justin looks so very lonely on this very moving video, I just want to cuddle him and hold his hand and kiss hiss adoring face. My " Baby Blue Eyes"... I will love him forever and a day,,,,Bless your heart... Miss you every second, of every minute,of every day, of every year !!!!! I hope that your tour in America is going very well,.... Love from Angie. K. XXxxXX.

  • great video! nice work. thank you.

  • Jesus is the one I had to run to, as much as l love you. He loves you more. Ask him to show you truth and come into your heart.

  • @sunflower7431 Go to preach in the church.

  • @preonk Come then with the blind eye of darkened understanding, come with the limping foot of wasted energy, come with the maimed hand of weak faith, the fever of an angry temper, or the ague of shivering despondency, come just as you are, for He who is God can certainly restore you of your plague. None shall restrain the healing virtue which proceeds from Jesus our Lord.

  • This is technically Mike Batt/Tim Rice's song. This is a cover. Give credit where credit is due.

  • @progrockcoffee Those two gents deserve all the credit for writing this song, One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and the Moody Blues musical depth make it pure ambrosia.

  • Love the song

I have a vid to self made to

    Greetings Maria

  • I lofe the music

    And the vid is great

have a great christmastime and a good 2011

    Greetings Maria

  • Beautiful song. Makes me a bit sad though.

  • I know this song from Elaine Paige's 1985 Christmas album. In Christmas 2002, my wife and I conceived a baby who was miscarried the following March, just before Ash Wednesday. I don't remember if it snowed later in that month, and I was playing snow-related music, or it was just the next December when I played it for the first time since the miscarriage, but it really hit me, and whenever I hear this song, I think of our dead baby "Little Lew," a love of whom the world took no notice.

  • @GodsGadfly I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my first baby and although it's been many years since, I still feel sadness when I think of the child I never knew. Just wanted to let you know that I think of you and Little Lew today.

  • This is a really lovely video for christmas well put together with pics of Justin and christmas scenery. Lovely!

    Best wishes,

    Tony.

  • RetroLisa : Awesome videos!! Lost of time & thought put into these! You are most talented!

  • Love the video, love the Moody Blues and see them every time they tour the UK but agree with MrWishuwas18again that David Essex does it best - looking forward to seeing Justin in War of the Worlds (for the 4th time) O2 12th December 2010

  • Love, Love, Love this video Lisa! Beautiful scenery Not only the snow but the man in the video as well! :)

  • BRILLIANT,WHY? YUST LISTEN!

  • NIce, but David Essex does it best.

  • Retrolisa you are a genuius. Great wonderful videos-All of them.

  • so beautiful..it reminds me of someone i loved so much. i met him in december & lost him in december..just another winter's tale

  • love this song

  • we did this at our school carol concert. it was amazing! love this song even though its sad.

  • Lovely song, with a sad story.

  • It is the saddest one on the December album. But it remindes us of all of the people who are alone at Christmas.

  • I did this song at my Christmas concerts/recital too recently and I did feel sad when singing it and I had someone in mind, but its a lovely song.

I think it went very well though.

  • I'm glad it went well for you. I think the best thing to do when you break up with someone you love is to savor the memories of the good times you spent with them, while realizing that some people are not meant to be with us forever. Hold on to the hope that evenutally we will find the one that we are meant to be with.

  • Love Justin <3

    Love this song <3

    Love Moody Blues <3

  • If something could be better than original, then this realy is. I don't get tired to listen this beautiful orchestration. Maybe all the sense is given by that sopranosax at background. Who knows, but there is some kind of magic. Anyhow - afaik I know, Britain has Got Talent by Julian Smith on this instrument. So if you like it, just listen his appearance. That's real magic what a sound he was given to that. Hope You enjoy him too, if love this interpretation..

  • @AppleCorp3 ~ P H U K ~ Were you addressing anyone in particular or just posting random information for anyone who might stumble in here?

  • @FatherTimeST1300 Hahaha - yes, actually. It was @todayfaith which is now a hidden comment...likely because it was SO popular. It's right above my original post.

  • Sounds like Mike Batt. Is he the producer of the song??

  • Lisa, this is so beautiful. But to me, it's a bit sad because Justin looks so lonely in a few of those scenes, as though he wishes someone could be there with him. I somnetimes wish that someone were me. Justin's voice is so lovely that sometimes I cry when I hear it. I really love this song! Thank you, Lisa.

  • Thank You Justin, Thank You Moody Blues, for making the perfect music over the years that so appropriately served as a back drop to my journey through life. It's been one helleva trip over the decades, and I'm glad they were there for me. Thank You retrolisa for the great video !

  • Check out caroline372's rendition.

  • Brilliant Retrolisa...

There are only a few voices that can touch my soul, Justin Haywood is one of them (Freddie Mercury another).

Both wrote songs with the title "A Winter's Tale". Both songs are Heaven sent.

Blessings to everyone at this time of year,

especially those who find themselves alone, or have lost a loved one. xxx

  • I just read that Freddie Mercury wrote this song...one of his last. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks and Peace.

  • Thank you so much for the work you did on this. Very appreciated.

  • I love this song! It sounds like Justin could have written it although he didn't, but he sang it like no one else ever could, with that gentle tenderness of his angelic voice...

  • back in england a bloke called david essex sang this dont know who wrote it, but it sounds much better song by justin

  • Hi David, I believe it is written by Mike Batt and Tim Rice. Hey, isn't it way past your bedtime??? LOL

  • your right,on both accounts

  • lisa, I have just finished watching all 6 of your Moody Blues videos, and I am just blown away!!! They are so beautiful. Did you do them on PowerPoint? I thought I recognised some of the transitions from there. But I wish I knew where you got all the wonderful pictures of Justin that look so perfect for the lyrics and backrounds!!! Absolutely fabulous work. I am just glad that you, as a fan, did such a great tribute to the Moody Blues, especially Justin. Bravo!!!!!!

  • What a good preparation for the edit of your clips........!!

what a good organisation and a delicate mind to finaly edit all the originals files in a so beautiful artistic way.

Lisa I will tell you the reflection that I made to myself when I see my first clips of you :"She is a lot more artistic than the stuff we can see on MTV or others video channels".

You are very good for edition and you are pretty good too with Paintshop

  • What a beautiful song! This is the first time I've heard it. Justin sings it beautifully, as usual. Thanks so much for this video.
