i had one of them over 30 years ago, you could take the clear plastic dome off its head to see all the details in its head, also parts of the head glowed in the dark
Yeah, that's about 2.5 to 3 grand worth of figures right there. I used to have an original in the box and then another one mint loose. Some fuckin' thieves ransacked my collection, ironically left my loose figure but broke it in several places. I glued and repaired, but it's not the same. Hold on to these, 70sToys! They are priceless, IMHO.
@Anacondas101 Movie wise you mean? They where killing people, by capturing them jizzing up on them and turning them into eggs or incubators for their young.
prometheus spoiler alert!!: the monsters are the space jockeys and the aliens!! and how space jockeys created the aliens and the crew they go to where ripley and the team visted in 1979 the alien planet
I SOOOO wanted this toy when I was 5 yrs old but it kinda freaked me out and at the same time my parents wouldn't get it for me. Funny how they made a toy based off of an R rated movie back then. The craftsmanship still holds up to any toy to date. They still kick ass! I wonder how much they are going for now?
These are wicked cool. All I could ask is for it to also fold up so that I could suspend one over my door for Halloween in the same way it hid in the shaft above Brent, and then lower it tail first in front of the unsuspecting guest!
i had one when i was young, the head glowed in the dark and i threw it in the closest because i was scared of it. now i bet it worth alot of money now!
one of the most bad ass toys ever made..i still can't believe they tried to get parents to buy this for their little kids lol! kenner trying to cash in on star wars i guess.
This was my favorite toy from the time I got it at Christmas (1979 or 80... not sure which) until I no longer played with toys. Man, I sure wish I still had it.
the skull underneath is way too visible. it was only mildly possible to see in some shots in the movie. STill badass as all fuck, lol just saying is all
Damn, watching this video brought back alot of memories,my mom got me the 18"ALIEN Action figure when i was 5 years old! it was one of the coolest toys ive owned, compared to the the other 70's era monster toys that i had.
When I was a kid, I really wanted one of these....back when Star Wars action figures were getting real popular. But, even as a kid I thought why the hell would they make this thing for kids and we can't even go see the movie?!?!
Had this nasty as a kid. I still remember my Dad hiding it behind the fireplace on Christmas. We were eating dinner when he told me he thought he saw one more present lying around. Certainly one way to make a big impact - six hours after everything else is open you find this guy behind the fireplace. I seem to recall his inner jaws being real metal? am I crazy?
Sadly, this fellow broke his arm and eventually got thrown out. Why do kids actually have to play with things!
I remember seeing one of these on display at a store (not a toy store, just out of the box as if someone thought it was just so cool) as a kid of 4 or 5 and being slightly creeped out by it, as if it had some sort of supernatural power. I had not seen the movie at the time but I thought at the time the movie must have been horrifying.
holy crap....i had one of these when i was a kid. i didn't think these were still around, or collectible. that toy was awesome, much better than the crap that passes for toys now. i wish i still had it....
This is my dream toy! I've been wanting one for years! I finally found one mint in box in a vintage store. I went home to think about it, when I realised I had to have it, it was gone! I'm still looking of one!
awesome collection of 1979 alien figures these toys were sadly removed from toy shelves that same year because of complaints that hte figure was from an r rated movie and it was to ugly. WEll I have one and I think its just fantastic! :)
@atariman72 I still have mine as well. I got to see Alien when I was twelve and my parents got me the photo book and alien for christmas. I have a more detailed alien figure that is better constructed in my dinning room and the other is in my bedroom. I brought it to work with me for Halloween and it was a big hit.
Nice video... my parents never got me one of these, even when the local toy store had a window of them on clearance for 5 dollars(!) a piece... if only I'd had a 100 dollars back then... ;P
Seen one for-sale on UK ebay i will get one he can then fight with my Kenners Bionic Big foot figure lol hahahah stunning collection have you got one in the box?
@solidfreak123 , yeah, the dome is removable.... it just sits on it's head without snapping on. That's the way Kenner made them. If you turn it upside down, the dome falls off. That's why the dome makes up more than half of the price on a complete ALIEN.
okay i am just confuzzeled lol why make a toyline based on a gruesom adult movie about a spidery create raping peaple so a snake thing is born by riping thier way out of there chest lol
I finally nabbed one of these yesterday. Loose but very nice and working with a glow head and all 'pipes'. Your little film inspired me to 'go for it' after many years of wanting one. Thanks for the inspiration!!
@Modmart , That's cool ! When I bought my first one, I got hooked... then I bought more.....a total of ten...6 complete, and 4 with missing domes.
I've been wanting an ALIEN since 1990, but could never afford it because at the time they went for $250. to $325. loose but complete and $500. to $600. dollars in a seal box. Now, a loose ALIEN can go for $100. to $200. (complete) and a sealed box ALIEN has gone up to $900. to $1,995.00. I bought all 10 loose ALIENS in 2009....lol
After many years of hoping to nab a decent loose ALIEN working with all parts I finally managed to yesterday! Seeing your amazing line-up really pushed me to grab an incredible toy. Thanks for the inspiration!!
Superb! I love this Kenner figure. Really one of the classic action figures and a shame it was not generally more available back in the early 1980s but it is obvious why it never proved a hit with parents. A pal of mine has a boxed one with the poster and I often ask to see it and work those jaws. Brilliant stuff.

Question, why do they make toys for kids based of R-rated franchises?
Wyzilla 2 weeks ago
@Wyzilla In this case, they didn't for very long.
I was lucky to get mine when I was 6,
after I saw the movie with my dad.
They pulled them from the shelves very quickly.
I can understand, this is the stuff of nightmares...
But I was never scared of a movie ever again.
And I still have the toy...
in Used condition.
