Dr. Werner gives a physics lecture on basic science. She has an optometry degree. That is a four year BS degree, followed by four years of optometry college. How anyone could be "let out" of a college with such total incompetence in basic physics and science -- is beyond me. OD colleges need an "exit exam" for these doctors.
Sadly, babbling lunatics and con artists (yes, they can be both) like Charlene's Angels know how to make a decent video and upload it to YouTube, whereas I do not, even though I have each a science, math, and engineerg degree. I have only an analog camcorder and the software for digitizing video fails.
That's danger of these pseudoscientists who talk scientism. They know just enough REAL logic and science such as how to work a computer and camcorder and software to put their crap out there.

Sir, you are wrong. Let me tell you a story proving that you are wrong.
A long long time ago I was hanging out in the woods when a giant bear attacked me, Normally I'd think I was fucked but I had my handy dandy Homeopathic Anti-Bear Spray with me. Upon spraying the bear he exploded, thus saving my life.
WHAT NOW SMART BOY? DID YOU JUST GET PWNT? OH YEAH, TSSST THAT BURNS DOESNT IT? OWWWWNED!!!!
Tragic, but Charlene is a full "Doctor of Optometry". The question is this: "How does a person with so "poor" a science background get a degree and title of DOCTOR? My objection is that she attempts to "talk down" to us, but implying she "knows science", and we do not. The fact that she does not understand that the equation says that "Mass" and "Energy" are the same thing (converted by the equation) and can not be created or destroyed, is the major issue.
People tend to believe in pseudoscience such as homeopathy for the same reasons they believe in religion. They don't bother asking themselves how true it really is, but they gain from following it as a truth.
For example, someone with a terminal disease , that has no cure what so ever in modern medicine, would feel much more comfortable believing homeopathy could cure his disease.
The exact same way others follow this, even if they don't share the same extreme state. They want to see magic. =)
Nice vid, but I think that i'll side with the likes of such esteemed medical personages as Werner and Hawking(s). Hawkings, Einstein, and Werner know that Mass is a ginned up concept foisted upon us by those with closed minds. Don't buy into their hype. Embrace the fact that you're an energy-based spirit being whose mass is insignificant. Diseases are obviously a mistransfer of energy states...that much is obvious. If you disagree, either your energy is out of alignment or you hate Einstein.
Obviously, it's BASIC atomic theory that atoms are mostly empty space but I fail to see how that negates mass as a factor but then woman is spewing more bollocks than an episode of Star Trek.
What I'd like to know is this: "Dr" Charlene's video has been around for a long time now. She has been made fun of around the world. Her video has been debunked, word by excruciating word. She is widely known as a "singularity of stupid" because of this video. Where is she now? Does she even know that she is the laughing stock of the educated English-speaking world?
So far as I know, (and I admittedly haven't paid that much attention to her) she has been keeping pretty quite following the leaking of her video.
According to PZ, the original poster of the video was threatened by Werner's attorney, but the mass people that mirrored it as a result have made it impossible for it to fade away.
Even other homeopaths must be having a laugh at her logic.
i don't think they're a fringe minority - you've got people like Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey suggesting that homeopathy and weird diets cure autism, whereas vaccines cause it. It's alternative quackery vs science, with ordinary people believing two actors over medical doctors and science. It's like we're sinking back into the Dark Ages.
Well by 'fringe minority' I mean that those who embrace and actively promote ideas on an extreme level aren't nearly as numerous as those who simply follow the nonsense they promote.
Although I wasn't aware that Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy promote homeopathy, though to be honest it wouldn't surprise me if more in Hollywood did.

It is tragic that the word "cure" or "medicine" must produce this result. You make a nice "pitch".

Did she just rape Einstein's beautiful equation? How can she possible be a doctor? Doesn't that require some basic level of intelligence?
