Matt I think is writing about this about someone he loves and saying when he looks at her he feels insignificant. And he obviously doesn't want to love her "You make me sick, because I adore you so"

@danielborges69 In this case, it's about the NASA definition, which is where when astronauts are in space and they see all of the other planets and stars, and earth it's self they feel so insignificant out there. Matt's not using it as a mental disorder. He is using this "space dementia" feeling of insignificance as a metaphor to a girl he loves. He is saying he feels insignificant when he looks at her, and doesn't want to love her, but can't help it.

It's suspicious how much resemblance it bears with the 1st part of the 2nd piano concerto by Rachmaninov. Especially the beginning of the song and the middle part, where he sings "and make us meaningless again".

In fact the band uses such "quotes" quite often, which I can't consider fair, because they conceal the fact of quoting and make use of general ignorance of classic music.
