  • Awesome, these guys had me in stitches!!

  • Newsboys SHOULD go mainstream. I think Tait was a great addition to the band. Ever heard him perform "SAVE YOUR LIFE" ( watch?v=g-iU8Z1LWNc ), that tune could EASILY cross over to mainstream with the right push.

  • I wish peter furler was stil there i loved the newsboys when he was there but i still like them

  • sit down white boy XD

  • "You can't handle me white boy" bahahaha!!! =D

  • "Oh, Come on! I even danced like Dc Talk use to!!!!" Haha, That's funny. :)

  • Wally sings a lot better than me . . .

  • Furler was great, but Michael Tait is great in his own way. He's got a great and unusual voice - which is what Peter Furler had. Loved Tait in DC Talk and love him in Newsboys.

  • @miazagora Thats exactly how i feel about it =D

  • I can remember how I missed John James as the lead vocalist... now, I'll miss Peter Furler. We'll get attached to Michael Tait, also... as long as they don't expect him to sing songs by Peter Furler or John James. There will be a new listing of Newsboys songs, written with Michael Tait in mind... and they'll be great songs!

  • Peter furler is the Newsboys. I have had the privledge to see the Newsboys 3 times over the past 2 years. Their music was uplifting and spiritual Now they sound like evey other main steam Christian band. They sound more like DCTalk than the Newsboys. They have lost their Bite and their message. Tait should not try to do past song , he misses the mark by a thousand notes.

  • @Larry731000 You don't really know "music" Tait covers a wider vocal range than Furler. Which allows them to pursue projects that were out of reach without computer enhancements. Plus he sounds the same recorded or live which is another plus. His singing has the strength to pull mainstreaem listeners to this genre and thus increasing the reach of God's word. I know because I was a mainstream listener UNTIL I heard Tait sing "He Reigns"

  • @gymrat19730 It took me awhile to respond I have been on a mens retreat. It is ok to disagree with me but you should know this. I learned to read sheet music when I was 10 years old. Over the years I was in school band for many years . I was in my first rock band at 13.On eve of leaving on national tour I got another calling and left it behind to follow Gods call.Today I lead childrens worship and the dance teams at my church. I have been in the music business one way or another for over 40 yrs.

  • @Larry731000 you missed the point, if a Christian artist goes mainstream, thats truly and honor because you could have a better chance at reaching 100,000,000 more lives and the people would say "Oh my gosh Newsboys are a Christian band, i didn't think Christian music is so inspiring" and that could open their heart to God. I have nothing against worship music, i like worship. "The message remains the same but its being delivered in a different way". ~Tait

  • @JesusFreak77753 I agree with you it is ok for an artist to go mainstream that is what POD did and Amy Grant among others.I listen to all types of christian music RAP,SOUL GOSPEL, Heavy Metal (check out THE BRAVE),Country. The point is the Newsboys sound was unique. That is what pulled in their early audience from the 70s and early 80s before their was Christian rock. They were one of the bands that started it. To leave that behind to go main stream is a dis service to their audience .

  • @Larry731000 True =)

  • Tait is awesome :(

  • he has a radio voice like Ted Williams

  • i love these guys!!! tait is a good sport.

  • I think Tait has done a great job with the newsboys. Next month I'll be seeing the newsboys for the 4th time in 2 years. Michael brings a new style and energy that Peter Furler couldn't. His new album is great as well, but overall bringing Tait was the best option the newsboys have done

This video proves nothing. It shows Michael in his first few practices just having a good time.

  • tait is better than peter

  • @45643145 NEVER! When it comes to the Newsboys...BUT...I will say that having met Tait and praying for his back that was hurting one time backstage...I will say that there isn't a nicer guy, and he was AWESOME with DC Talk...he IS a good singer with a GREAT voice...and I LOVE him with the Newsboys, but for the Newsboys as a band, Peter was the Best of all 3 frontmen...by far.

  • jajaja, this is a funny radio interview, Michael is an amazing singer...probably more gifted than Peter...whoever says otherwise doesn't have a clue...

  • @Lisculeague No way! Tait talks his songs and I don't like his It's about me attitude, Peter sings way better and is humble and always gave a wonderful word! Peter made the Newsboys, to me they just are not the Newsboys anymore. I'm so glad Peter is back singing, his new CD On Fire is Awesome!

  • That DJ was funny

    Love Duncan

    Love Tait

Love and MISS Peter... his solo debut is good but I wish he was with the Boys..!

  • lol so funny!

  • Newsboys did not make a mistake with tait. Wouldn't it be awkward if newsboys got just some random guy to sing. YES IT WOULD. Peter Furler wanted to try something new, and he did. Michael Tait is a very gifted singer, and now that he has the equipment to make his songs even better (unlike DC Talk, which they had very little equipment) the newsboys can do something no other band could do, they brought back a christian music legend. Peter Furler is great, but Michael Tait is just as good.

  • lol walleys crazy.

  • Only thing is that Tait isn't humble like Peter.

  • @Disciple1818 You're crazy...I met Tait, and he IS VERY humble. I would say they are every bit...EVERY BIT as humble as the other...you couldn't pick between the two if you knew them both personally.

  • @opie1kanobie Well something I like about Peter is that he is very relate-able and that he talks of his life humbly and loves and glorifies the Lord.. I'm not saying Tait isnt like this but when i saw Michael Tait in concert he opened with "I've Got a Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas and focused mostly on himself- he even referred to himself in the third person. It's just the way he comes off as a performer, by all means he most likely is a great guy.. Just not inspiring to me

  • I had to sing that stupid verse in church. That was a lesson well learned

  • lol Im glad this is a joke. I love Tait! He has been great for the new Newsboys! I am glad that Peter is still singing though. I love his music. I love both of them.

  • They sound like Gula Gula Island with Micheal Tait as the singer :/

  • ooh that dj is annoying. muy molesto.

  • I watch this video like ten time and I still think its funny ! LOL love how duncan was like Im just a drummer i dont know the lyrics lol :D

  • C'mon guys- this is a joke. A funny joke. Take it for what it is and don't over-analize.

Though I do like Classic Newsboys better than Taitboys...

  • That was hilarious!!!!!

  • Michael Tait is awesome! I really hope they're back at Easterfest next year. So good to see Duncan there too - what an amazing man!

  • They're better with Tait

  • u need credit CUZ u even danced like DC Talk XD

  • I can do the verse:)

  • I saw these guys in concert last week. By fare, the best concert I ever saw... I can't wait for next years winterjam.

  • i was really worried about this but their first release eased all those fears...new sound...and its good!!!

  • Oh for Heaven's sake, Mike's a hoot and is just horsing around. After seeing him live last week, what a magnificent voice and equally magnificent spirit he has. Great pick by Peter Furler and the Boys.

  • That was hilarious!!! Good stuff!! Thanks for uploading!!

  • I have seen Michael Tait's show and to be honest, his show was incredible. I would love to see Michael Tait go mainstream as I feel he could reach so many more people for Christ. He had such a wonderful variety in his show, I was fascinated by his performance. I would sign him to a record deal anyday. God bless You Michael Tait!

  • honestly i really think you should have this on t.v. because everything you say is just FUNNY, but those dance moves, now those are funny!!! =)

  • It isn't our place as good Christians to judge my friends, everything happens just as the Lord intends and I believe he placed Tait exactly where He wanted him to be, to sing and bring the joy of the Lord into our hearts. In this video Tait seems overwhelmingly nervous having been put on the spot and I believe that's all there is to it, GOD BLESS :)

  • @augustharper It is a joke, we are friends and I was having fun with him. How do you live life taking everything so seriously? That would have to stink

  • @totalaxxesswally

There's something called kindness man. Being cute doesn't warrant immaturity.

  • @totalaxxesswally Wally, I remember this interview and you didn't put on here the worst of what you said to him that day. You took a man who just picked up this job and put him on the spot in front of a nation wide talk show and told the world Newsboys made a mistake picking Tait.I was totally shocked with how you treated him and because of this interview I have never turned your show on sence.

  • @brian2mel1 - Are you serious!!??! Good grief! So you won't turn on his show, but you will go to his channel, watch his videos, and comment? wow... Some people have NO sense of humor! And you must not even know what this show is about! Wally is friends with all the artists... WHY SO SERIOUS!?!?

  • @therealmoovees4u I didn't come to his channel to look through his videos. I was looking at Newsboys videos and this video was one of the options. I'm not saying this clip wasn't funny, I'm saying the entire interview that night was wrong in the way he handled Tait. He might be funny and I enjoy a good laugh but not at the expence of someone else, especially a fellow believer. Christ followers on the earth should be coming along side each other, edifying, and lifting up the body of Christ

  • @brian2mel1 Sorry for accusing you. But, you still don't get this video. It wasnn't as the expense of some one else. Tait is a very easy going guy. Lighten up and live :)

  • @totalaxxesswally

There was no way of knowing that you were joking by the way you named the video. I would have been a little hard on you, too. It seemed as though you were posting a video from someone esle and then lambasting Michael Tait for his lack of talent in a See?" video about him.

  • @totalaxxesswally

i lived in TN for 6 months and really enjoyed your show...i would drive home from la vergne to franklin and listen to your show...i really like the way you have fun on the air and see the two sides of story...the two shows i will always remember is the one when people were emailing you about the song "You Found Me" because of the smoking cig part and you really broke it down into perspective...and the other one was about tattoos and how you mentioned Revelation 19:16

  • @totalaxxesswally that was hilarious!!! you have good dancing but horrible pitch hahaha.... dont worry.. I do too.. :D

  • @totalaxxesswally i'm sorry i wasn't talking directly to you my friend i just saw a lot of negative comments on here about one good man out there just pouring his heart out about the Lord and I think he seems like a pretty upstanding gentleman as I'm sure you are yourself. Take care and many, many blessings to you :) !

  • @augustharper that's the thing about the written word.... (thanks for clarifying below totalaxxesswally).... these boys are obviously having fun with each other 'mistaking a mistake'... it's all in good fun.... be good to each other boys and girls... the written word is what it is... and you can't judge it the same way as voice.. because there lacks the intonation and body language where you can usually pick up on irony/sarcasm/a joke yeah? Be good to each other..and thanks for sharing, FUNNY :)

  • @augustharper Well that section in the bible where (i cant remember who said it other than Christ) - i think paul - do not ye judge...." is takin way out of context now a days. Yes i agree not to judge... those out of Christ, because Christ will judge them, but those that are in the body, are to be judge but someones opinion isnt judging. I just wish christians wouldnt be so critical , but enjoy the music , because its in there hearts to praise Christ our Lord and Savior.

  • This is awesome Wally, seems like

you guys were having so much fun in there I love it!!!

  • THIS MOVIE IS NAMED INCORRECTLY..

TAIT IS AMAZING FOR THE NEWSBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TeamTL16 Amen!

  • Oh Wally...

  • I love Michael Tait for one he is so hot and 2 he has a great voice!!

  • Oh come on! I even danced like DC talk! Newsboys should go on tour with Wally! SHIIIIIINEE!! Thumbs up if you agree!

  • Why is Tait singing for the newsboys - somebody make it stop please - no offense to Tait - and the writing on the new album went from mainstream (old newsboys) quality to typical Christian music sounds, just a lot of yea yea yeas where there should be good lyrics

  • @wirlyone The old singer still writes their songs

  • ballz?

  • The D.J. is adorable! I saw the "new" Newsboys "live" in concert a few months back and they were awesome!!! You have to see Michael with them now to get the full flavor! They were thrownin down big time! I loved um!

  • They asked Kevin Max to do it first.

  • @DiminishedStudios are you serious? how do you know?

  • @jesusmusiclover20 A friend of mine is a friend of his, and he told me. I actually played guitar for my friends wedding reception, and Kevin Max was the singer. I never asked him about the NewsBoys but I believe what my friend told me.

  • The Newsboys are better than ever with Michael Tait!

  • Well, I don't think MIchael is going to be able to sing their old songs very well. But they could still make good music with him as the front man, but they'll need to change the style a bit to suit him.

  • i dont care what anyone says, the newsboys will never be the same or sound the same with michael tait. I've been a fan of the newsboys since I was 9, so its so disappointing..i wont listen to them without peter..

  • @Alathea871 That's sad... :(

I know its not the same, but think of it on bright side, they got someone who is an amazing singer/performer, who has a lot of stage experience, rather than some youngin' who can't carry a tune...

You can't really blame Peter Furler for not singing anymore, his voice is all messed up... I saw them at winter jam in 2006 and he sounded like he was struggling even then. I will miss him, but I'm not going to let his absence ruin my love for the band as whole! :)

  • Michael Tait all the way....

  • You can not go by this video to say he"s the wrong person. Be for real! If God has lead this group it will work out eventually. Be prayful instaed of critical.

  • No Way! He's excellent together with them.

  • Lol. I don't think they made a mistake with Tait. But Newsboys really will never be the same. Honestly, they probably won't do many of the old songs. Don't get me wrong, I have long loved Newsboys, but their music was a little old fashioned, which honestly probably worked best for Furler's voice and style. Tait has updated them. Just listen to the new CD. Newsboys sounds nothing like they did before, but they sound awesome with Michael.

  • I don't know what the person who posted this vid was thinking, but all this video did was show Michael's incredible sense of humor and his beautiful smile. It also shows that he doesn't take himself too seriously. Anytime I'm feeling down, I pull up this video and pretty soon, I'm laughing so hard I'm crying. It never gets old. Also, after hearing the new album and seeing its success, Michael has definitely proved all of the naysayers wrong, including the person who posted this video.

  • I love Michael Tait, l love the Newsboys and l love DC Talk.... Michael Tait is fantastuc with Newsboys, we saw them in Melbourne this year and Michael Tait can certainly sing adn cetainly move.... Their New album Born Again is brillant.

Michael certainly is great as part of the Newsboys.

I LOVE Michaels voice, Very talented...

  • Churches change Preachers/Pastors/Ministers. Why not Christian Bands?!?!?! Each one brings a certain Flair.

  • I love this - so funny!

  • awwww,, I miss Peter soo much

  • no doubt peter was great, but i've never bought a newsboys album until michael. I think that it's a way better sound....and dc talk was my jam!hahaha

  • "I even danced like DC Talk used to!"

  • hahaha the editor guy is hilarious!!!

  • i'm really dissapointed in the person who posted this video...

  • @Jakathera Don't worry :) This is a joke. :D

  • Tait sounds great with the Newsboys

  • I'm really gonna miss Peter.

  • @UnluckilyEnlightened: A ministry will go through many changes over the course of time. If we were talking about Led Zeppelin, I'd have to agree with you. But we're not talking about a BAND, we're talking about a MINISTRY that just so happens to use music as a platform for Kingdom agendas. A band is personality-centric, a ministry is Kingdom-centric. If a music ministry becomes personality-centric, then the ministry dies when the band dies. Peter has created a legacy that will long outlive him.

  • I think the dj did a better job. They should hire him. Or somebody that at least sounds like John James or Peter Furler

  • sorry to hear you dont like Tait, but hes the only reason i listen to newsboys! its kind of a continuation of DC talk.

  • that manager reminds me of some youth pastor I met. It is so creepy, how he looks like him and talks like him

  • Tait was put on the spot. Give the guy a break. Sheesh.

PS.. this DJ is so unfunny it hurts.

  • As for the one who was complaining endlessly about the changing band members.... it's a band....it happens. Keep the negativity to yourself, kindly. I think it's a tribute to the Newsboys that they continue to endure through the changes.

  • I agree that Peter's voice was so identifiable and was GREAT and I even prefer Peter's voice myself. But Michael is starting to get comfortable with the flow of the band and with the older songs and such and I think it's working. It took some time and may not be 100% there quite yet, even. But it's getting there and they are all pros and will work it out.

  • oh come on! they were spontaneous on this! of course its not gonna sound good if the guy has no notice and a song he's never heard before. you're not being fair. Michael Tait sounds awsome on the CD

  • I'm seeing Newsboys at Ichthus in June. I'm nervous about seeing them with Tait as lead. I love Tait, and I love Newsboys, but I'm not sure they can mesh successfully. New songs should be ok, but the older ones like "shine" and "breakfast" just aren't right without Peter Furler as lead.

  • I love michael tait, he did a wonderful job on the song Glorious!

  • Michael Tait is classic, don't mess with him

  • i wonder how michael tait would do for liberty disco

  • Michael Sounds like a movie trailer announcer. Anyway I like that all through the changes, the blessings still keep comin to my life through the music,

  • I love the newsboys like everyone else but I can't stand how they change so much all over the years...I mean Paul Coleman leaving and then Peter! I love Michael but Peter is the one that made the songs...with his signature voice! His voice just fit,so did Philip..... Vernon Bishop Paul Colman Peter Furler Jonathan Geange John James Phil Joel Kevin Mills Bryan Oleson George Perdikis Corey Pryor Sean Taylor Phil Yates.. is the change ever gonna stop?
  • Michael Tait I Think Is Better Than The Other Guys I LOVE THE NEWSBOY W/MICHAEL TAIT!!!!!

  • @erinnsheay12

Well you got about millions of other newsboys fan that think peter was better!!!!

  • I am sure Michael Tait is talented in his own right, and filling Peter's shoes is an arduous task. However, Peter as a lead singer IS NEWSBOYS! I miss the energy, presence and spirit-filled voice of Peter...

  • @neils1153 You seem a little hostile. Did someone try out and not get it? *whine* Get over your issues.... And Michael wasn't the rapper/hip hop.... that was tobyMac. Maybe he did one or two things rap with dcTalk, but the rap was T. Have you not heard of a little thing called Tait? The band?

  • Tait was a good move, definitely. I can't wait to see two of my old favorites come together.

  • Wally totally sounded like Jim Carry for a bit somewhere in there.

  • i said at first i didn't like tait but now i love him, he is so great for the newsboys i miss peter but God has called him to somewhere else so Go Tait!!!!

  • i liked tait, michael is a good lead singer...just not for the newsboys!! i miss peter!!

  • I saw Tait live and he is one of the best frontmen I've ever heard. The new album is going to be great!

  • Some people like Michael Tait's sound compared to Peter. It doesn't mean one is better, it just means that different people like different sounds. I think it was a good choice for the Newsboys because it gives a fresh sound to it and will probably broaden the amount of listeners :)

  • when i read "you can just tell he is such a good christian". i don't know this guy and many people here don't either. i can tell you that i know multiple bands that tour in the christian festival etc market and some are real and some do it for the cash. don't be fooled into thinking someone saying god means they are terrific. alcohol problems are frequent with christian bands members even today. everyone sins and i think it's sad that people judge people with actual real life struggles.

  • Comment removed

  • tait is good but not as good than peter..sorry is my opinion

  • Whohahaha!!!

    Great movie

  • Well Tait sure did an AMAZING job at WinterJam2010 in Champaign this past weekend...so that answers that comment

  • Are you KIDDING???

Micheal Tait is so much better.

  • you need to shave your face

  • I love the sound Tait brings to the band. Much more soulful...

  • @mbischoff63 Really? Peter still does?

  • hahaha!!!!!

  • Actualy, i kinda understand the radio host.......but not so much.....

His voice is very unlike Peter's voice... with a very lower pitch.......

more: I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH redletters4!!

TAIT IS REALY A JESUS FREAK!!!

    Roddes Valadão

  • who is this jackass radio-host?

  • It looks like the secret to replacing Newsboys members is to only bring in Australians or Kiwis. People didn't make this stink when John James left, or when Phil Joel went solo, or when Paul Colman joined and then left. But throw an African American in there and people lose their minds!

  • ROFL Wally your so funny HAHAHA!! michael rocks :) miss you Peter!

  • I totally agree with "iamluvdx3" in the above comment. I saw (and met) Michael Tait. He is, undoubtedly, one of the most committed Christians I've ever seen. He was with his band, Tait, at the time. I remember telling my husband later, "It's scary how 'front lines' this man is!" - meaning, Wow! I'm evangelistic, but I wanna be more of a Jesus Freak like HE is!!

  • I am a Tait fan, as a Newsboys fan.... but it is like ice cream and pizza.... even though I love both of them I can mix them!!!! I am sorry... i dont agree with Newsboys choice!

  • You can be sure that Michael Tait wasn't hastily chosen, NB would have been planning it and rehearsing foe a while to make this happen.

BTW Peter Furler's voice is totally weak, Tait's voice is 10 times Peter's voice.

  • Michael Tait's version of Glorious was great. i look forward to seeing him in winterjam

  • To be fair to Michael,I saw Newsboys last spring and Michael has learned the songs.

  • Wally sounds like Phyllis Dilller

  • 0:55 yeah, they should have hired that guy!!

  • Just saw them live, Michael Tait was awesome...

  • Wally sucks.

  • After being at the Newsboys concert just over a week ago, I have to say they couldn't have picked a more spiritual man who is so totally in love with GOD to represent their band. Michael Tait is exactly what that band needs at this time in their being. He will take them places with his GOD fearing nature!

  • XDXDXD OH MY!!!! LOL!!!!!!

  • I just saw the newsboys the other night with Michael Tait. THEY ROCKED!!! Tait is the future!!! Absolutely no mistake at all!!!!! I was skeptical at first, but I am an official fan!!! GO MICHAEL!!!!!

  • I totally disagree.

  • Wow! what happened to people's sense of humor? The DJ was just trying to have a little fun, Come on people. I love Michael Tait, I love The Newsboys. They couldn't have picked a better person..

  • Michael Tait is the good !! He IS a very talented singer! DON"T BE A HATER!!! Especially towards your christian brother!

  • I don't like his singing. He's nothing like Peter.

  • I think Peter Furler is really talented. However I think he's leaving the band for the same reason John James did. Of course they won't say that. I hope it's not true. It wouldn't surprise me if he got himself hooked on something. I mean come on. What are the odds there was only one drug addict in the band? It's a shock he was able to hide it for so long IMO.

  • He left because he wanted more time with his family! He said he hadn't slept in his own bed for almost 20 years.

  • You might be too young to remember but when John James left the band they said that he left to become a pastor and an author. In reality he had found himself hooked on drugs and trying to crawl his way out of the bottle. Again I hope it's not true. But in this world nothing would surprise me anymore.

  • No I was saying Peter left because he wanted more time with his family. I didn't say anything about John.

  • What are the odds? Peter Furler is a Christian, not a drug addict. The Bible says, "Do not get drunk on wine (or high on drugs) but be fill
