Okay, the Fredricks of Hollywood corsets are sexy and are meant soley for that... being sexy. The boning is plastic and is in no way suited for waist training.
the corset makes ur boobs look enormous. Im still having trouble understanding why u would do this instead of just diet and excersize? Or is it the very curvy shape u want most?
You should start slow and build gradually. Starting at 20 hrs a day is not a good idea. Start wearing it at a comfortable tightness for a cpl of hrs a day for a week, then make it an hour longer each day and a little bit tighter that week. Repeat the same each week. If you go too fast right away, you will not want to wear it and eventually give up. Just trying to help :)
The closure on the front of your corset isn't the best kind to get. I suggset the classic hook and eye front. I have many corsets , and waist sinchers [like you have] and have been wearing them for years. Getting ones that are made out of a thicker material help out.
@shadysyrup313 hook and eyes ones are usually not suitible for tight lacing and waist training because they are not sturdy enough to hold up to the pressure. I had one before and the owner of a local corset shop nearly had a heartattack when she found out i was trying to tightlace with it lol
It's good to see more black women wearing corsets these days. It's good to see more diversity in the waist training community. As an experienced tight lacer, I wish you luck in your endeavor.
@terrycloth97 I've been seriously tight-lacing for about a year...I'm not as experienced as some, but I'm only 21, so yeah. lol If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. :D
Oh, and btw, how you can tell if the corset is the right side up is the hook side of the busk should be on the right, and the post side on the left...for future reference. ;)
@AkashaOConnell Nice, I have it on correctly then, I appreciate that because I had no idea. Thanks. Also, have you reduced your waist successfully? I wish I could see pics because I can't find any before and after pics on the internet anywhere.
I'm thinking about starting corset training. I noticed you mentioned you do this. So, I was wondering how long have you been wearing a corset and how many inches have you lost from your waist? If I start corseting how long do I have to wait to start losing inches on my waist?
@LeniGirly I've been training off and on for about a year. I could cinch down almost 6in at my best (I've been lazy lately and a change in my duties at work prevented me from wearing my corset for a while). I've lost an 1/2in, but that's from losing weight. You don't gain permanent reduction until after years of hardcore tightlacing(23/7 with a strict reducing regimen) or losing weight.
@AkashaOConnell Aww that sucks! I thought you would see results sooner. I'll probably still consider buy a corset. I guess it depends on the prices. Thanks for responding i really appreciate it.
@LeniGirly It also depends on how physically fit you are. If you have a lot of muscle around your middle or are really skinny, you'll probably show a lot quicker, but it'll go back to normal if you leave the corset off for more than a week or so. I do recommend you try corsetting, though. It makes you feel really good if done properly. I had horrible back pain before I started tightlacing, and now it's gone. Plus, it's always nice to be the same size before and after you eat! lol
@AkashaOConnell Yeah I'm definitely going to give it a try. For the longest I've been wanting to give it a try but I haven't because corsets are so expensive. Hopefully, I'll find something that's reasonable.
@KongolianTexasPeach I really must recommend that you don't start until you're at least 18 and preferably 19 or even 20. Your body doesn't stop growing until then.
Did you look into the pros and cons of this process. I know awhile back I saw a talk show saying that it was not good to wear it because it messes up the insides. It was awhile back so I don't remember the particulars of it. I do think that there was a woman who wore it to the extreme where her waist was so small that all her organs were pushed up. But It does look great and I can't wait to see the journey with it.
@naturallymesmooches Thanks for the concern but I'm not worried about ill effects. I am taking it slow and don't plan to go to the extreme with it. I have seen some people however with a 18 inch waist with no problems so I guess to each his own.
@naturallymesmooches The woman you talk about is the corset queen >.< Her waist is 16 inches... and tbh, it wasn't the nicest thing to look at. Heh. I'm starting corset training, but won't go that far O_o
