C:\Windows\System32\SFC \Scannow is a great replacement for chkdsk r. It will replace any files that are not consistent with what is on the Installation DVD of Windows 7 automatically all at once.

Your right, my bad. Chkdsk verifies a mechanical hdd is properly working and has nothing to do with the files in the OS and the Scannow command verifies that your OS files are not corrupted. I am sorry for the bogus post. I should have known better. Please correct me if I am wrong and explain.

I am getting the same code error but it is comming from my external hdd. I had this problem with an Intel Desktop motherboard (D875PBZ). With a degraded RAID array. The problem was intermittent; sometimes it would boot, sometimes it wouldn't. Also got the error after replacing the drives and restoring an image of the original drive. I turned off RAID and restored the same image to a single non-raid drive. Problem solved. Not a fan of Intel SATA RAID.

i tried booting with this CD and ERD Commander even with a regular win7 DVD to reinstall the OS I keep getting BSOD PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA,

when i boot into it (win7) it bluescreens after 10-15mins i verified the dump and it shows NTOSKRNLE.exe is the main cause -could it be Physical MEMORY ISSUE ? i wanted to do a fresh install do to this issue but its seems to me its a hardware issue unless when booting with this CDs triggers the ntoskernel which is why is BSOD?

I used the vitio to correct the missing or corupt issue and exited out and windows came up and I had a message for 2 updates to be uploaded I restarted my computer and now the computer will not startup. It goes throught the normal startup session but keeps going back to the startup regardless of what startup mode I select, safe mode, last known configeration, ect, any suggestions

I can't say this will work for you, but if I take out my 2 RAM cards for 30 seconds then put them back in while the computer is off, then boot up, the PC works until it is turned off again. Good video. However I tried copying two other versions of ntoskrnl.exe over the one on my hdd and it didn't solve the problem. It would be great if you also went over how to rebuild the boot.ini file. I followed the command you showed but there are some options (OS identifier and OS load options) I had to guess at.... Entered '1' for both. BTW I have had numerous failures with my windows xp install and most have been on reboot after a windows update!

can't really type anything in, if you hit any key during that error screen, it just resets, even using the F8 menu does not work. Recovery CD does not have any effect.

I think the hard drive is messed up. The only thing it will do is instantly reboot. Will probably have to buy a new one...

@AznZiShu I've read somewhere that ntoskrnl.exe can get messed up from keyboard errors. if you have another one there, try it before buying a new disk. it's cheaper and it could work. especially since you say pressing F8 and stuff doesn't work, sounds like a possibility

is the system32 folder in recycle bin? if so right click and restore, if not then get windows cd and install windows over windows, do not do fresh install or reformat or your lose your data.
