Baptism of Christ: man kills Son of God, and God says get dunked in water with faith and He'll forgive him. And people claim THAT'S a work we're able to boast about? If anything, it shows how awesome God's grace is! Ridiculous how people are seeking to get around what God told us to do.
People pretty much believe what they have been taught and raised up to believe as children. If your born a Catholic, you believe that doctrine. If you're born and raised a Baptist you believe that doctrine. If you are born and raised a Muslim, you believe that. The only way to truth is God's Word as revealed in the bible. All scripture is given by the inspiration of God according to 2 Tim. 2:15 We got to ask ourselves, "What does the bible say about this?" and not just rely on the pastor.
@horseman528, I agree with you 100% that is why in this video I used Scripture, the Word of God to reveal that baptism isn't required for salvation. We all have been raised to some degree in tradition but the Word of God reveals the truth and that is what I used not opinion or sourcing other material just the Bible alone. No pastor lead me to this conclusion God's Word alone did!
@epidome Have you read Rom. 6:3-4, Acts 22:16, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, Gal. 3:27,Acts 8:35-38, Acts 10:47-48, Matt. 28:19,1 Peter 3:20-21, Col. 2:11-12? By the way, thats 2 Tim.3:16 that says all scripture is given by inspiration of God not 2 Tim. 2:15 which says study to show thyself approved unto God. A workman that needth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.
@epidome How is it you believe the bible to be the word of God and say you can disobey God by not being baptized and go to heaven? If you are Jesus disciple you will do as He says; if you are not His disciple you will do as you have said here. Disobedient people are unbelievers so by implication if you are not baptized then you are disobedient and are lost. Believe it or don't believe it. That's you're choice and you will one day find out first hand the truth. For your sake, I hope you're right!
@AccordingToScripture, I understand your concern and that very concern is the source of my motivation for this video. I care about you and everyone and want no one to find out that they were wrong at judgement. I understand what you are saying, that resisting is just rebellion but that is not what I am doing nor encouraging. What I am trying to make clear is that works are a fruit of salvation, salvation is not a fruit of works. Someone who is saved will desire to do them out of love.
@epidome I agree with you that good works are a by-product of salvation and has nothing to do with the process by which we are saved. A dear friend once told me, "I do good, not to be saved but because I am saved." This statement changed my life forever! My question to you is, do you consider baptism a "work" done by man or done by God? Please include the scriptures.
@AccordingToScripture, your friend hit the nail on the head. It is from our salvation that our works come from a living, loving relationship with God. Many believe salvation comes from works even though they will say they don't emotionally they feel they have to do something to be saved, we are saved by what Jesus did not anything we do. God preordained works for us from eternity past, nothing and no one can thwart his will but we do his will out of love voluntarily not out of fear & obligation.
@epidome Matthew 7:21- you must do the will of the Father. Works can be a fruit of salvation, but salvation is also a fruit of obedience (Heb. 5:9). We must do the works of God to be saved (John 6:28-29). Is repentance a "work" (Luke 13:3)? Is belief a "work" (John 6:28-29)? Is confessing Jesus' name a "work" (Matt. 10:32-33)? Is baptism in His name a "work" (Mark 16:16; Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 2:38; Col. 2:12)? Is continuing in faith a "work" (Col. 1:23)?
@clearedtoengage , No these are not works as you are stating them as. You are saying what is required for a Christian to be right with God but it is God who makes a Christian right with himself. These things result not from our will but his, it is out of love for God do to revealing his sacrifice for us to us that we do these things not out of fear. I get the feeling that you come from a thou shalt and thou shall not rather than if you love me follow my commands. Love not fear my friend.
@epidome Sorry, they are works, because you must DO them to be saved. That comes from the very definition itself. Are these things required for a Christian to be right with God? The Bible says yes. God makes a Christian right with Himself at baptism (1 Pet. 3:21). These things result from us obeying His will because we match our wills to His, not vice versa. We do these things both out of love and fear (John 14:15; 1 Pet. 1:17). They are "works" until you can prove them NOT actions.
@epidome "If you love Me, keep my commandments." So, if you do not love Him, will you enter into heaven? No. God does not force us to do His will. If we wish to be saved, we must follow His will. "God makes a Christian right with himself"-- what in the world? I'd love SCRIPTURE for proof. When does God make a Christian right with himself? At obedience (Heb. 5:9; 2 Th. 1:7-9)!
@epidome When Jesus tells us we must do something to be "saved", that must mean righteousness with God by definition. And Jesus knows the hearts of men. So why should we expect Him to command things impossible to be done? He knows we can do it easily. Faith only is full of condemnation, but obedience will spare you.
@clearedtoengage, 2 Corinthians (5:21) For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. John (6:29) Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent." Ephesians (2:8) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast.
@epidome 2Cor 5:21 does not mean that God made us righteous without us doing anything- we must obey the conditions to be counted righteous. John 6:29 does not mean that God makes us believe, and Eph 2:8- if you'd read farther on- tells us what kind of works God is talking about- works of the Law that cannot save. Romans is all about fighting Judaizing teachers saying you had to do works of the flesh or works of the Law to be saved. 1 Pet 3:21 "Baptism now saves you.."
@epidome Read Romans 6:17-18. What took them from being dead to being alive? Obedience. And what was referred to as obedience in verses 1 and following? Baptism. Your logic falls.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
As you can see, DEATH reined over them that did not sin after the similitude of Adam's transgression. It wasn't until the Levitical Priesthood that this sin started to get covered for one year. ONLY the Lamb's shed blood permanently remits this curse at our baptism when we are changed from death to life.
8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
God will was again enter a marriage covenant with Israel His bride.
Revelation 21:2
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
The 144,000 saints are His bride 12,000 from each tribe of Israel. These saints resurrected with Christ & will return in the New Jerusalem to rule & rain on Earth.
Revelation 21:9
... Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
The video stated, " Salvation is according to the will of the Holy Spirit, not subject to doctrine!" It has everything to do with doctrine. Our doctrine is so important the word is used by Paul, Luke, John, and the writer of Hebrews from Acts to 2 John, 32 times referring the soundness of doctrine. One of my favorites is, 1Ti 4:16 "Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee." Doctrine Saves!
@AccordingToScripture,I am in full agreement with you on this. My statement about this is within the context of Acts (10:44-48) where Peter obviously had a doctrine dictating salvation still since he and the other circumcised Jews were astonished at the receiving of the Holy Spirit by uncircumcised gentiles. God was obviously working with Peter in freeing him from the law, on the way to Cornelius's he revealed to Peter there is no clean and unclean foods though Christ clearly said this already.
@epidome Peter preached words that would save them. The angel said so in Acts 11:13-14. Peter would preach WORDS by which they would be saved. However, verse 15 says that when the Holy Spirit fell on them, he had not yet begun his speech, but was merely beginning. So was the angel uninformed? No! The words that he spoke were necessary for them to be saved. Peter's doctrine was of the Lord, for he was led into all truth by the Spirit (John 16:13).
@epidome Obedience to God's will is always necessary for man to be saved (Matt. 7:21; Heb. 5:9). Again, we know there is only one baptism (Eph. 4:4) and one faith. That is the same one Jesus preached "baptizing them", therefore it is not the baptism of the Holy Spirit which saved, according to Jesus, but a baptism that could be performed by men. Acts 10 clearly shows the baptism of the Spirit does not save. If it does, then when you believe, you will speak in tongues.
@epidome Throughout Scripture it is clear that we must not only believe but do the will of the Father to be saved. Let us look to Paul. When was he saved? (1) on the road to Damascus (2) while he fasted and prayed (3) when Ananias spoke to him (4) when he was baptized
@clearedtoengage, John (6:28-29) Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
@epidome Okay, so it was when he believed ONLY, according to you. So let's look at Ananias's claim.. Acts 22:16 "Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name." According to Ananias, Paul was not yet saved at the point of belief, for he still had sins that needed to be forgiven! So when was he saved?
@wilby1414 True, baptism into Jesus Christ gives you the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38) but we know that since the perfect revelation of the Bible has come, the part has passed away, that is, the miraculous spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 13). You're right that we must persevere to the end!
Baptism does not deal with the original sin, for God does not reckon us as guilty of Adam's sin. We are born righteous (Eccl. 7:29; Mt. 18:1-4). Baptism deals with OUR sins (Romans 6).
@clearedtoengage Adam's sin caused him to become a fallen creature doomed to die. Before the fall Adam was to live forever in that state. Adam's sin caused him and his offspring to be subject to DEATH. We are born from a fallen man so it was the state of Adam that passed onto us not his sin. Although the penalty for sin is death.
Jesus came to take away the sin/curse of the world which is death. Through baptism and the Holy Ghost we are changed from death to life Romans 6 explains the process.
@AccordingToScripture, my definition comes from Romans (10:9) If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
This is specific and includes nothing else for salvation, not baptism, not works and not association, I know that you want belief to be linked to action but it isn't. James says faith without works is dead but not that salvation depends on works because he is talking about evidence before man not salvation
@AccordingToScripture,Luke(23:42)Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Acts(10:44)While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. Luke(7:6-9)I am a man under authority with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go and he goes and that one, Come and he comes. I say to my servant, Do this and he does it.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him,
@epidome In Acts 10, there is no way they could have been saved, for Peter had NOT finished speaking the message, but was merely beginning his speech. Read Acts 11:14-15 to see why. The "words by which you will be saved" were not finished yet, but merely as Peter "began to speak". So was the angel wrong? NO! The baptism of the Holy Spirit did not save, and does not occur today. If it does, then where are the signs associated with it? Eph. 4:4- one baptism. Mark 16:16- the one JESUS preached.
@epidome You mix up "having the Holy Spirit" with the BAPTISM of the Holy Spirit. Salvation most assuredly is associated with doctrine! Matt 7:21- if you merely BELIEVE and CALL on His name, you WILL NOT BE SAVED- but you must DO HIS WILL! Faith alone is something that we know cannot save, according to James, but must be associated with works. What kind? The ones JESUS commanded.
@epidome Not sure if you answered my question or not? I do like the fact that you used the Roman officer as an example because it mirrors Christian obedience. He was saying Jesus had power to speak and it would be done. He is right! Jesus was baptized, baptized, commanded to baptize. Peter repeated Jesus' command in Acts 2:38. Peter explained why in 1 Peter 3:20-21. Paul explained it all over the NT including Rom 6:3-8 and Col 2:11-13. Repent of your theology and obey Christ!
@AccordingToScripture How about I answer my own question for the benefit of the readers. Believe according to Strong's Dictionary- **"Believe" **H539= faithful, trustworthy, steadfast, long countenance, G4100= commited, to entrust ones well being, G4102= reliable, consistent, G4103= trustworthy, **"Does not believe"** G569= disobey, G544= disobedient, obey not, G571= untrustworthy. There is more to these definitions, these are the points I wish to make.
@AccordingToScripture To believe is way more the a knowing as a matter of fact know has it's own definitions-Know H3045= be aware, understand, H3046= certify, G1097= be aware, feel, be sure, understand
G1492=be aware, be sure, understand. If one defines believe with these definitions your flat wrong. If you believe in Jesus you will obey Him, be trustworthy, committed, consistent, steadfast, and faithful. Salvation is free but we do play our part in it, as you can see by the words Jesus used.
@AccordingToScripture These are Jesus' words, the words of life.Joh 3:5 "...No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit." Mar 16:16 "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved...". Then what was Peter's command to those that believed(willing to do what they were told)?Acts 2:37-38"... what should we do?"..."...you must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins will be forgiven. If you believe do as your told! This is His plan, not mine.
@AccordingToScripture We must be as the Roman officer's soldiers servants, "I tell this one, ‘Go and he goes and that one, Come and he comes. I say to my servant, Do this and he does it.". Why are so many trying to justify following the plans of men, instead of God? Trimming the pieces of the puzzle to make them fit anywhere instead of taking the time to do it right? This theology of "Dry Cleaning" is the biggest lie ever told. Please someone show me examples in the NT of "Dry Clean" conversions.
@AccordingToScripture Show me where in the NT where it says baptism is a sign or symbol and not the work of God because I haven't found them after searching for them for many years. I have searched with an open mind longing to find them. I would like for someone to finally admit that is is their theology on the subject and not fact. Oh, and don't bring up the Thief on the cross the NT didn't begin until after Jesus died,Heb 9:16-17
@AccordingToScripture Heb 9:16-17 "In order for a will to take effect, it must be shown that the one who made it has died. A will is used only after a person is dead because it goes into effect only when a person dies." While on Earth Jesus had the authority to forgive sins, Mat 9:6 "I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins..." now Heb 9:15"...he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death" Jesus function is different in heaven. Believe/obey
@AccordingToScripture Exactly, brother. Belief is NOT simply faith, as many think. The ONLY time that "faith only" is EVER said in the Bible is in James 2:14-26- "You see then that a man is justified by works and NOT by faith only". But a man IS justified by FAITH! Just not by ITSELF! Belief saves, because belief inherently is tied to obedience. "Believing" REQUIRES obedience to God's commands.
@AccordingToScripture Ephesians 4:4 "there is one baptism"-- only one saving baptism! That is the one that Jesus preached. You are spot-on. Belief, repentance of sin, confession of faith, baptism, and faithful living are each and every one connected to salvation. Take away one and it all comes crumbling down.
@clearedtoengage Amen, the only thing that I will add, is to continue to live faithfully to the end. Remember, one of the definitions of "believe" is "long countenance" (That is to endure throughout the rest of our lives). Where did the idea of "getting saved" come from anyhow? Salvation is a process that started the moment we believed the "good news" and this process ends with our death. It is not a moment in time, it is how we live in obedience to God's word.
@AccordingToScripture Right. That's what I meant, but failed to completely convey with "faithful living". (Rev. 2:10) The idea of getting saved came from denominational preachers, who desired to take the names of men rather than the name of Christ, and instead of following Scripture preached a watered-down gospel-- they hold to a form of godliness while denying its power.
@AccordingToScripture, let me ask you here do you believe that Christians won't do terrible things?Disobey? David comitted adultery and murder and went to his grave having peace with God. I would be careful how much weight you put on our behavior getting us to heaven. How will we be able to be in God's presence eternally? Only absolutely righteous people can be in God's presence, who's righteousness will eternally sustain us? Ours or God'? God is under the law of God and upholds it eternally!
@AccordingToScripture, on the eighth day he was circumcised according to the law of Moses, when Jesus who is God in the flesh was circumcised he came under the law and fulfilled it perfectly. He who knew no sin became sin. You see Jesus will eternally fulfill the law of Moses which is the righteousnous of God, the law could save no one it only condemned us all it is what Paul calls the law of death but Jesus saves us and greater is the glory of the law of life in the face of Christ!
@AccordingToScripture, Christ makes us the righteousness of God, our own righteousness gains us nothing. It is the motivation of your heart that I am speaking to, it sounds like you do these things to be right with God when they can't accomplish that. Our righteous acts as Christians are sourced in love and it is love that changes us but how good we are gains us nothing we do good because we love God knowing that we cannot be worthy of his love not to prove that we are worthy of it!
@epidome Christ does not MAKE us the righteousness of God. Romans 10:6ff shows us clearly that we must OBEY to have the righteousness of God. These things DO accomplish righteousness with God- do you not understand Christ's death on the cross?? He told us, do these things and you will live, and be righteous in My sight. How good we are gains us nothing? Disobedience will condemn you to hell (2 Th. 1:7-9). If you want to disobey the Word, you will perish.
@epidome David confessed his sins to God (Ps. 51). He was right in the eyes of God because he was forgiven. Jesus Himself said that if you do not bear good fruit you will be cast out and thrown into the fire (Mt. 7:19). He put the weight on it, not you or I! ALL SIN separates us from God (Is. 59:1-2). Does it not then seem logical why we turn from sins? So that we may walk in the Light and have fellowship with Jesus (1 John 1)!
@epidome There are 2 kinds of sin. The 1st is an acute sin. A sin that was a mistake or intentional; a sin that one is truly sorry for committing. This kind of sin requires one to hate what he has done and plan to never do it again, even though he might do it again in the future out of weakness(Rom 7:14-25). The 2nd is a chronic sin, which by definition is a sinful life. This sin is relished, not hated and is followed by no "Godly sorrow". This kind of sin separates us from God. (Rom 8:5-8)
@epidome One more thing, I asked you a question in a previous post that you must have missed, so I will ask it again here, "...do you consider baptism a "work" done by man or done by God? Please include the scriptures."
@epidome You know what else is specific? 1 Pet. 3:21 "Baptism now saves you" Matt 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you;" Luke 13:3 "But unless you repent you will all likewise perish" When Jesus says something is necessary for salvation it IS, plain and simple (Mark 16:16).
1/ The Faith-the doctrine of Christ / the doctrine of salvation
2/ Personal faith
3/ The Faith of Abraham
It is Faith #3 that saves us. It is a faith that requires action such as Abraham willing to sacrifice his son. Being baptized into Jesus Christ takes the same faith of Abraham, it requires action. When we get baptized we are applying this faith and believing that baptism will save us based on His word
The H. G. convert, regenerates n makes us born again
Even if you believe that the Holy Ghost can enter you before baptism into Jesus Christ --- which I say is backwards -- but for arguement sake say it is done that way for some --baptism into Jesus Christ is still commanded/mandatory to complete the salvation process.
So why even argue about baptism? Either way it is necessay for salvation.
Baptism into Jesus Christ is the beginning of your salvation journey!
1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
We are born under a curse (the sin of the world -John 1:29) this sin is DEATH and we can NOT pray this curse away--it takes action on our part. Baptism into Jesus Christ remitts this curse of DEATH and when the Holy Ghost enters us we are converted, regenerated & reborn unto LIFE
If baptism is after salvation, that is being freed from sin, then why was Paul told to be baptized and wash away his sin on the third day after he believed in Jesus, after he had been fasting for 3 days and after he had been praying for 3 days?(Acts 15 and Acts 22). According to your theology wouldn't Paul be sinless before he was baptized.Wouldn't Ananias have told Paul to be baptized because you have had you have had your sins washed away? I don't understand how you resolve the contradiction.
"And he came into all the country...preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins"“He who believes and is baptized will be saved““Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins”“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death,so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father,we too might walk in newness of life.”"...whereunto even baptism doth also now save us...""Repent, and be baptized every one of you...for the remission of sins.." 777denny
@777denny1, I put a video response on this video called Baptism is not Salvation Exegesis. It is an exegesis of Acts (2:38), exegetical theology puts to rest the seeming contradictions. Part of an exegesis is using Scripture to confirm Scripture and Acts (10:44-48) is used to confirm Acts (2:38) with the application of the Greek Rule. Without the laws of Greek wrong conclusions can easily be drawn and such is the case with Acts (2:38) by the Church of Christ, the UPC and Apostolics.
@epidom,Again and again in scripture we are told to baptize people in the Name of Yahusha (Jesus is a man-made false name) Christ. John was baptizing people To WASH THEIR SINS AWAY. When we go under the water we are signifying that we are dead to sins and this washes our sins away. When we come up out of the water we are a new man and the Holy Spirit OF Elohim, which is Christ is us, the HOPE of glory, comes to live in us as we speak in tongues. Anabaptists were murdered for this.Thanks,777denny
@777denny1, have you watched my other video that I have as a video response to this one? It is an exegesis of Acts (2:38). I sense your conviction and passion on this issue but if we let passion lead it can lead us astray, if you are willing to look at the application of the Greek Rule to Acts (2:38) you will have a greater understanding of the other side and where they are coming from, this exegesis is what you will find in schools, seminaries. We must know both sides to fully grasp our own.
@,I certainly do not feel led to research this subject more than I have already done. I have heard many arguments against my position, which I used to believe. Tell me something, why did Yahusha have to be baptized by John, who was baptizing for SINNERS to wash their sins away? Why did Yahuah say,"This is My beloved Son in Whom I Am well pleased" AFTER Yahusha came up out of the water? Yahusha received the Holy Spirit OF Elohim AFTER He came up out of the water. Did Yahusha HAVE to be baptized?
@777denny1 Thanks for your reply. Yeshua was baptized because it was His Father's will.Yeshua always did Yahweh's will and was publicly praised by Yahweh for His obedience at his baptism. You asked if Yeshua had to be baptized. The answer is yes, He did. Not because He was sinful but for two reasons. First, He was obedient to Yahweh and secondly, He was setting an example for us to follow. Please, never feel like you don't need to study a topic anymore.Never be that comfortable. "Fear & Trembling"
@AccordingToScripture, if you check history carefully, you wiil find that the Catholic Church started by Constantine is the Great Whore spoken of in Revelation. Her offpring, the Lutherans, by Martin Luther's own words, led Hitler to slaughter the Jews with the blessing of the Vatican. The Calvanists along with the Lutherans and Catholics persecuted Anabaptists BECAUSE of their belief about NOT baptizing infants or small children until they can understand the TRUE gospel (good news) of Yahusha.
@777denny1 Not to defend the Catholic Church but your statement about them being the Great Whore is nothing but your opinion. Where did you get your information? If I had to give my opinion on the matter I would have to say that the Great Whore had to be the Jews. They consorted with the Gentiles to destroy the Christ and His Church so God divorced them and destroyed their kingdom for their unfaithfulness. Again I admit this to be my opinion. *** Continued on next post***
@AccordingToScripture@777denny1 ***Continued***We need to be careful when stating our opinions. We need to give great thought to stating such things and we need to always, always be very clear that it nothing but opinion. Your opinion on this matter came from some theologian giving his opinion as the gospel truth and people like you repeat those opinions as though they are scripture. There is no scripture that says who the Great Whore is but we can make an educated guess, it is however a guess.
@AccordingToScripture, furthermore, you have accused me of something I did not do. I did not get my opinion from "some theologian," but rather from a variety of sources including the Word of YWHW. It would behoove you to try and research WHY I have spoken what I have spoken FIRST, than accuse me of things without knowing exaclty what the facts are. This way you will be armed only with facts, rather than quickly speculating on limited facts. Thanks, 777denny
@777denny1 If your opinion on this matter came from scripture I will gladly read over the scriptures to see what they have to say. Please give us (the readers of your postings) the specific scriptures that state that the Roman Catholic Church is the "Great Whore as stated in the New Testament. I and a lot of people are tired of the opinions and personal insights that are preached as though they are the written word of God. So, please give us the specific Books, chapters and verses. Thanks
@AccordingTo, those who hunger and thirst after righteousness are not luke warm. If people do not want to take the time to go to my website and study the blog entry I made on this topic, then what hope is there for them? The lazy end up in the Lake of Fire. Those that want to hear truth will search to find it, and Yahuah will, I believe, give it to them, YHWH being a rewarder of those who DILIGENTLY search for Him. Just type in 777denny into any search engine to find it. Thanks, 777denny
@AccordingToScripture, I have researched who the Great Whore of Revelation is and have a blog entry for you to check out and tell me what information is incorrect. Just type in 777denny into search engine to find my blog. As far as accusing Jews of be the "Great Whore," the whore MUST be a "church" or entity that claims to be of Messsiah. Scripture is very clear that the Gentile is NOT the Jew, and that Jews will trust in Yahusha after the Abomination that causes desolation. Thanks, denny
@777denny1 READY! The great whore is Israel! Israel is a women and she entered a type of marriage covenant with God. Israel is the apple of God's eye BUT Israel the woman went after other gods / idols
basically committing adultery and hence God gave her a bill of divorcement.
The reason for a divorce as stated by Moses was if a spouse committed adultery & Israel did. You can not remarry the same women after a divorce.
@wilby1414, all who hear and add to the prophecy of the book of Revelation shall suffer the plagues in the prophecy, while those who take away from the prophecy of the book shall have their names removed from the Book of Life. You are PROFOUNDLY wrong about Isra'el, and will be found to be in violation of Yahusha's command not to add or take away from the prophecy of Revelation. Thanks for listening, 7777dennny
@777denny1 Israel Committed Adultery against her husband.
Jeremiah 3:7-9
8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
@777denny1 Hopefully you learned something about Israel.

Remember, Israel is made up of twelve tribes, all Hebrews with tribal names. Only one of the tribes are Jews so this is not just about the Jews, it is about Israel the bride.
natually the mormon becomes atheist and then blaims everyone else for there own mistakes of being lured into a cult who tells you what to do lol dude alls they did was went back to the very place they claimed to hate in the beginning the devil satan can not rebuke satan man lol the mormons know nothing of what there into . I tell the truth satan can appear to you as an angel of light they should of listend to this when they were reading about the angel moroni appearing to joseph smith.
seriously i thought mormons were going to get a little smarter but it seems the more we decrease and God increases the mormons get dumber and dumber by the minute lol.
i had to remove a mormon just recently from my page who was so upset of what i said about the mormons and you know what he said to me he said thios as the mormon he was he said im not a mormon but you said that mormons are in a box and need to get out of the box and then he said to me there is no God and then he left what an idiot he just proved a point he just told me he worships him self and nopt thee God if that guy got any more moron lol i have to bake a cake for his fat ass.
The truth is i find people taking the bible text and just doing what they want with it and then there are others that take it word by word and your going to hell if you dont do this to get to heaven repent lol you need to check your self and look at your own plaques in your own eye before you remove others. This is also in the bible but alot of people forget to pay attention to who claim to know the word of God and yet become there own judges by doing so and God says he is the Judge.
bible college you eventuality know now because you have some papers and some classes you have taken proves you are right and everyone else is wrong. What happen to what God says in the bible do not try to become wise in your own age?
The same to do with Corinthians 1 chapter 7 where people are saying it was not talking to just one church but many and others saying it is only talking to one church at that time and we have done research to prove this as gone to bible college? Lol that proves nothing yo uwent to
the debate is this when people get out of line and say that people can not be chosen to speak in tongues to this day if God chooses them and prayer to beable to have that gift to speak in tongues is in debate with many churches against it.
For each fire decended on to them and this was the fire of holy spirit that John talks about in the book of John. and each one of them spoke there own language in different tongues they spoke but no where any where does it say and interpreters were there also to tell the people what they were saying lol it says nothing like that but people continue to say and exaggerate what it means to them lol.
were interpreters there who told people what they were saying only based on theory and there openion but no where in the word of MY BIBLE does it say that there were interpreters there according to the book of acts first chapter when they began to come out and spoke in many tongues.
Now lets debate if you like the same for bapism is salvation only an openion of someone else who is interpreting that way the same that goes with corinthians 1 chapter seven if he can not defeat that sin it is better for him to marry now there are members of churches who well argue this and say that paul is talking to only the corinthians whihci s a church but it doesnt say that the same as there
I like to fight back because i am not afraid to do so. SOME idiot told me to becareful when getting into religion because it can be dangerous. I love going in a ocean with sharks praise God.
I argued with some main stream members who are dont have membership about Corinthians 1 Chapter 7 about preparing for marriage. I look at this as there openion and no proof that in the book of corinthians wasj ust to that church about preparing for marriage because then you can state the same in luke when it says shall not have two masters and serve them the same.
well this is at least what i was told how ever in the bible it says Jesus baptizes with fire of the holy spirit not by water John said this when Jesus was with him in the river.
the mormons can tell people that water being baptized is salvation of course if there members are going to believe because there prophet wouldnt lie lol.
hahah i nyour face all you hypocrites telling people water is salvation makes me really feel good now because i was right the whole time because i have read this in the bible because i had read the whole bible but people keep saying no it does not say that thats because there taking little verses and taking it in what they want it to say so of course
@InTheseBooks, in the past I argued Abraham but that argument goes both ways. If you stick strickly to the issue of baptism in the Bible, salvation through baptism is defeated. I am doing a second video that will simply reveal a law of translation of Greek to English that leaving out has enabled salvation through baptism to convince some that it is true. This video coupled with the next should be able to well equip anyone who encounters this argument and not have to walk in confusion or fear.
truthseekno9, I agree with you all the way! Once again you are right or at least we see eye to eye again. Thank you for your comment, as before you are so kind and encouraging and I appreciate it so much. It is my hope that my efforts on here which along with everything I have including each breath I take are sourced in God will help people be delivered from fear and confusion which I walked in dealing with these issues before. My passion that this channel is born of is from such times.
I believe it is very important to note that God was removing from Peter and the other Jews with him requirements for salvation, that the determining factor of salvation was the will of God, that faith not doctrine saves people. It appears that Peter and the other Jews were still trusting in circumcision and before Peter even went to Cornelius's God revealed to him that clean and unclean foods were not required either. Just as Peter had unrequired doctrines for salvation so to can the church.
You covered it well brother! The Word is very clear on this. When one turns against sin and believes in Jesus Christ as the Almighty God Himself, they are saved. Christ plus nothing. Hallelujah!!
pbar1000, thank you so much. I am working on another video on this subject especially since it is such a heated one. This next video will go deeper into Hermeneutics but it will be easily understandable to everyone as I believe it should be. Hermeneutics is similar to investigating a crime, you begin first with the simplest part, not the complicated. Going ahead with an ideology corrupts one's ability to unbiasly view the evidence. It will be a simple examination of baptism in scripture.
Wow! Great message! This helps me a lot. I had never thought of that point you made about the Spirit being poured out prior to the Gentiles being baptized. I'll remember that. Very important. Keep up the good work! ES
earnestlyseeking, thank you. It seems apparent to me that God was working with Peter through Cornelius. Before Peter even went to Cornelius's house God dealt with removing clean and unclean foods from Peter's doctrine and then would amaze Peter and the circumcised Jews with him by making them witnesses to pouring out his Spirit on uncircumcised Gentiles. To me God was saying patiently to this Jewish apostle and those with him that the law isn't the key to salvation, faith is!
Feel free to leave comments, I know that this is a highly debated issue especially from the UPC, The Church of Christ and Apostolics. I can go deeper into laws of translation if need be.

2:15 We got to ask ourselves, "What does the bible say about this?" and not just rely on the pastor.
horseman528 7 months ago

Someone who is saved will desire to do them out of love.
epidome 7 months ago
@epidome I agree with you that good works are a by-product of salvation and has nothing to do with the process by which we are saved. A dear friend once told me, "I do good, not to be saved but because I am saved." This statement changed my life forever! My question to you is, do you consider baptism a "work" done by man or done by God? Please include the scriptures.
AccordingToScripture 7 months ago
@AccordingToScripture, your friend hit the nail on the head. It is from our salvation that our works come from a living, loving relationship with God. Many believe salvation comes from works even though they will say they don't emotionally they feel they have to do something to be saved, we are saved by what Jesus did not anything we do. God preordained works for us from eternity past, nothing and no one can thwart his will but we do his will out of love voluntarily not out of fear & obligation.

clearedtoengage 6 months ago
clearedtoengage 7 months ago
@clearedtoengage , No these are not works as you are stating them as. You are saying what is required for a Christian to be right with God but it is God who makes a Christian right with himself. These things result not from our will but his, it is out of love for God do to revealing his sacrifice for us to us that we do these things not out of fear. I get the feeling that you come from a thou shalt and thou shall not rather than if you love me follow my commands. Love not fear my friend.
epidome 6 months ago
@epidome Sorry, they are works, because you must DO them to be saved. That comes from the very definition itself. Are these things required for a Christian to be right with God? The Bible says yes. God makes a Christian right with Himself at baptism (1 Pet. 3:21). These things result from us obeying His will because we match our wills to His, not vice versa. We do these things both out of love and fear (John 14:15; 1 Pet. 1:17). They are "works" until you can prove them NOT actions.
clearedtoengage 6 months ago
@epidome "If you love Me, keep my commandments." So, if you do not love Him, will you enter into heaven? No. God does not force us to do His will. If we wish to be saved, we must follow His will. "God makes a Christian right with himself"-- what in the world? I'd love SCRIPTURE for proof. When does God make a Christian right with himself? At obedience (Heb. 5:9; 2 Th. 1:7-9)!
clearedtoengage 6 months ago
@epidome When Jesus tells us we must do something to be "saved", that must mean righteousness with God by definition. And Jesus knows the hearts of men. So why should we expect Him to command things impossible to be done? He knows we can do it easily. Faith only is full of condemnation, but obedience will spare you.
clearedtoengage 6 months ago
@clearedtoengage, 2 Corinthians (5:21) For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. John (6:29) Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent." Ephesians (2:8) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast.
epidome 6 months ago

Romans 5:14
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
As you can see, DEATH reined over them that did not sin after the similitude of Adam's transgression. It wasn't until the Levitical Priesthood that this sin started to get covered for one year. ONLY the Lamb's shed blood permanently remits this curse at our baptism when we are changed from death to life.

AccordingToScripture 8 months ago
@AccordingToScripture,I am in full agreement with you on this. My statement about this is within the context of Acts (10:44-48) where Peter obviously had a doctrine dictating salvation still since he and the other circumcised Jews were astonished at the receiving of the Holy Spirit by uncircumcised gentiles. God was obviously working with Peter in freeing him from the law, on the way to Cornelius's he revealed to Peter there is no clean and unclean foods though Christ clearly said this already.
epidome 8 months ago
@epidome Peter preached words that would save them. The angel said so in Acts 11:13-14. Peter would preach WORDS by which they would be saved. However, verse 15 says that when the Holy Spirit fell on them, he had not yet begun his speech, but was merely beginning. So was the angel uninformed? No! The words that he spoke were necessary for them to be saved. Peter's doctrine was of the Lord, for he was led into all truth by the Spirit (John 16:13).
clearedtoengage 8 months ago
@epidome Obedience to God's will is always necessary for man to be saved (Matt. 7:21; Heb. 5:9). Again, we know there is only one baptism (Eph. 4:4) and one faith. That is the same one Jesus preached "baptizing them", therefore it is not the baptism of the Holy Spirit which saved, according to Jesus, but a baptism that could be performed by men. Acts 10 clearly shows the baptism of the Spirit does not save. If it does, then when you believe, you will speak in tongues.
clearedtoengage 8 months ago
@epidome Throughout Scripture it is clear that we must not only believe but do the will of the Father to be saved. Let us look to Paul. When was he saved? (1) on the road to Damascus (2) while he fasted and prayed (3) when Ananias spoke to him (4) when he was baptized
clearedtoengage 8 months ago
@clearedtoengage, John (6:28-29) Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
epidome 8 months ago
@epidome Okay, so it was when he believed ONLY, according to you. So let's look at Ananias's claim.. Acts 22:16 "Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name." According to Ananias, Paul was not yet saved at the point of belief, for he still had sins that needed to be forgiven! So when was he saved?
clearedtoengage 8 months ago
@clearedtoengage Paul was saved when he was baptized into Jesus Christ which includes the Holy Ghost.
Paul said it was like scales falling from his eyes. BUT is salvation a surity?
1 Corinthians 9:27
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Baptism deals with the original sin and it converts us fron Death to life. Also called being born again and regenerated. Overcome to the END!
wilby1414 8 months ago
@wilby1414 True, baptism into Jesus Christ gives you the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38) but we know that since the perfect revelation of the Bible has come, the part has passed away, that is, the miraculous spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 13). You're right that we must persevere to the end!
Baptism does not deal with the original sin, for God does not reckon us as guilty of Adam's sin. We are born righteous (Eccl. 7:29; Mt. 18:1-4). Baptism deals with OUR sins (Romans 6).
clearedtoengage 8 months ago
@clearedtoengage Adam's sin caused him to become a fallen creature doomed to die. Before the fall Adam was to live forever in that state. Adam's sin caused him and his offspring to be subject to DEATH. We are born from a fallen man so it was the state of Adam that passed onto us not his sin. Although the penalty for sin is death.
Jesus came to take away the sin/curse of the world which is death. Through baptism and the Holy Ghost we are changed from death to life Romans 6 explains the process.
wilby1414 8 months ago
@wilby1414 Agreed wholeheartedly. We are not guilty of Adam's sin, but we do suffer the consequences of it. (:

@epidome What does God mean when He uses the word "believe" in the Old and New Testament scriptures?
AccordingToScripture 8 months ago
@AccordingToScripture, please elaborate. You haven't given me enough information to fully understand the direction of your question.
epidome 8 months ago
@epidome You quoted a scripture that included the word believe. I was wondering what biblical definition you apply to this word.
AccordingToScripture 8 months ago
@AccordingToScripture, my definition comes from Romans (10:9) If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
This is specific and includes nothing else for salvation, not baptism, not works and not association, I know that you want belief to be linked to action but it isn't. James says faith without works is dead but not that salvation depends on works because he is talking about evidence before man not salvation

@epidome Ok, please explain what, "believe in your heart" means. Can you give me a practical, real world example?

@AccordingToScripture,Luke(23:42)Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Acts(10:44)While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. Luke(7:6-9)I am a man under authority with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go and he goes and that one, Come and he comes. I say to my servant, Do this and he does it.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him,
epidome 8 months ago
@epidome In Acts 10, there is no way they could have been saved, for Peter had NOT finished speaking the message, but was merely beginning his speech. Read Acts 11:14-15 to see why. The "words by which you will be saved" were not finished yet, but merely as Peter "began to speak". So was the angel wrong? NO! The baptism of the Holy Spirit did not save, and does not occur today. If it does, then where are the signs associated with it? Eph. 4:4- one baptism. Mark 16:16- the one JESUS preached.
clearedtoengage 8 months ago
@epidome You mix up "having the Holy Spirit" with the BAPTISM of the Holy Spirit. Salvation most assuredly is associated with doctrine! Matt 7:21- if you merely BELIEVE and CALL on His name, you WILL NOT BE SAVED- but you must DO HIS WILL! Faith alone is something that we know cannot save, according to James, but must be associated with works. What kind? The ones JESUS commanded.
clearedtoengage 8 months ago

AccordingToScripture 8 months ago

Trimming the pieces of the puzzle to make them fit anywhere instead of taking the time to do it right? This theology of "Dry Cleaning" is the biggest lie ever told. @AccordingToScripture Heb 9:16-17 "In order for a will to take effect, it must be shown that the one who made it has died. While on Earth Jesus had the authority to forgive sins, Mat 9:6 "I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins..." now Heb 9:15"...he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death" Jesus function is different in heaven. Believe/obey
AccordingToScripture 8 months ago
@AccordingToScripture Exactly, brother. Belief is NOT simply faith, as many think. The ONLY time that "faith only" is EVER said in the Bible is in James 2:14-26- "You see then that a man is justified by works and NOT by faith only". But a man IS justified by FAITH! Just not by ITSELF! Belief saves, because belief inherently is tied to obedience. "Believing" REQUIRES obedience to God's commands.
clearedtoengage 8 months ago
@AccordingToScripture Ephesians 4:4 "there is one baptism"-- only one saving baptism! That is the one that Jesus preached. You are spot-on. Belief, repentance of sin, confession of faith, baptism, and faithful living are each and every one connected to salvation. Take away one and it all comes crumbling down.
clearedtoengage 8 months ago
@clearedtoengage Amen, the only thing that I will add, is to continue to live faithfully to the end. Remember, one of the definitions of "believe" is "long countenance" (That is to endure throughout the rest of our lives). Where did the idea of "getting saved" come from anyhow? Salvation is a process that started the moment we believed the "good news" and this process ends with our death. It is not a moment in time, it is how we live in obedience to God's word.
AccordingToScripture 8 months ago

Our righteous acts as Christians are sourced in love and it is love that changes us but how good we are gains us nothing we do good because we love God knowing that we cannot be worthy of his love not to prove that we are worthy of it!
epidome 6 months ago

AccordingToScripture 6 months ago 3
@epidome You know what else is specific? 1 Pet. 3:21 "Baptism now saves you" Matt 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you;" Luke 13:3 "But unless you repent you will all likewise perish" When Jesus says something is necessary for salvation it IS, plain and simple (Mark 16:16).

There are three kinds of faith.

777denny1 1 year ago

777denny1 1 year ago

777denny1 9 months ago
@777denny1 Not to defend the Catholic Church but your statement about them being the Great Whore is nothing but your opinion. Where did you get your information? If I had to give my opinion on the matter I would have to say that the Great Whore had to be the Jews. They consorted with the Gentiles to destroy the Christ and His Church so God divorced them and destroyed their kingdom for their unfaithfulness. Again I admit this to be my opinion. *** Continued on next post***
AccordingToScripture 8 months ago
@AccordingToScripture @777denny1 ***Continued***We need to be careful when stating our opinions.
AccordingToScripture 8 months ago
@AccordingToScripture, furthermore, you have accused me of something I did not do. I did not get my opinion from "some theologian," but rather from a variety of sources including the Word of YWHW. It would behoove you to try and research WHY I have spoken what I have spoken FIRST, than accuse me of things without knowing exaclty what the facts are. This way you will be armed only with facts, rather than quickly speculating on limited facts. Thanks, 777denny
777denny1 8 months ago

777denny1 8 months ago

Can you take your comments back now?
Remember, Israel is made up of twelve tribes, all Hebrews with tribal names. Only one of the tribes are Jews so this is not just about the Jews, it is about Israel the bride.

InTheseBooks 1 year ago

InTheseBooks 1 year ago
were interpreters there who told people what they were saying only based on theory and there openion but no where in the word of MY BIBLE does it say that there were interpreters there according to the book of acts first chapter when they began to come out and spoke in many tongues.
InTheseBooks 1 year ago
Now lets debate if you like the same for bapism is salvation only an openion of someone else who is interpreting that way the same that goes with corinthians 1 chapter seven if he can not defeat that sin it is better for him to marry now there are members of churches who well argue this and say that paul is talking to only the corinthians whihci s a church but it doesnt say that the same as there

I argued with some main stream members who are dont have membership about Corinthians 1 Chapter 7 about preparing for marriage. I look at this as there openion and no proof that in the book of corinthians wasj ust to that church about preparing for marriage because then you can state the same in luke when it says shall not have two masters and serve them the same.

well this is at least what i was told how ever in the bible it says Jesus baptizes with fire of the holy spirit not by water John said this when Jesus was with him in the river.

baptism is through water is to tell others you accepted christ in your life thats why it says you should have some witnesses with you

Just as Peter had unrequired doctrines for salvation so to can the church.
epidome 2 years ago
You covered it well brother! The Word is very clear on this. When one turns against sin and believes in Jesus Christ as the Almighty God Himself, they are saved. Christ plus nothing. Hallelujah!!
pbar1000 2 years ago
pbar1000, thank you so much. It will be a simple examination of baptism in scripture.
epidome 2 years ago
Wow! Great message! This helps me a lot. I had never thought of that point you made about the Spirit being poured out prior to the Gentiles being baptized. I'll remember that. Very important. Keep up the good work! ES
earnestlyseeking 2 years ago
earnestlyseeking, thank you.
