Lol, that's what the defendant gets for being a jerk. And for those of you who say that what the plaintiff did wasn't artwork, I suggest you take an art appreciation class to educate yourselves. Art is subjective. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not art. Also, I believe the defendant said he was selling for $250 EACH, not $500 each.
This is the first time I've literally laughed out loud while watching The People's Court: 1) The verdict (I did not see that coming), 2) the plaintiff's luck while walking out of the building (did not see that coming either). LOLOL
Omg what a wierd case. JM ruling was great. that was more the fair, it made it not so much about a dollar about just ach take one and sell it for what you can, dont get much fairer then that. And the guy got $250 walking out the door! The other guy shouldhave chased the buyer down and said buy my can too!!!
I like the elevator story at the end, but $10 says it was staged. The show probably put someone on the elevator to buy the milk can so that there'd be this interesting story.
I like the cans. They're not practical for my living space, but if I had lots of room, I could see myself purchasing the one with the milk truck on it. I grew up in a rural area where this kind of thing was common. I wouldn't pay more than $100 for it, though.
I really can't believe that JM gave the Plantiff different options, then once he chooses one, she makes up a 3rd alternative & enforces that one over what either the Def. or Plantiff actually want.
idiot doesnt understand inflation if he keeps it at 500 evenutally 500 dollars = 250 dolls not 500 as it is today idiot needs to learn about economics even more if he is going to blame the econimy
Nothing to do with economy - there are people out there who are collectors or whatever.I'll say this, I would buy them if they didn't have that paint job on them, nice work but I really like those things in their original state. Just my opinion.
The cans didn't sell because they are ridiculously over priced, not because the economy. I hate when antique store owners blame they're woes on eveything else, disregard that they're crap is over priced. Stick to thrift stores.

They should have just let one of those people outside who thinks they're worth $500 buy them. Problem solved!

who has the money to waste on some painted milk cans???? especially costing 500 dollars EACH
alil2active 8 months ago
Their cute, but I would never pay $500 for them. That's too much money for something I could paint myself.

You know, maybe, now that the can has made an appearance on People's Court, interest in the can might have increased!
yinstube 1 year ago
The person was probably watching People's Court and thought it would be hilarious to buy one. I would have.

this must be stage. What are the chances that the cans didnt sell for years and then this guy just sells it in the elevator... b/s

LOL, "in another year when the economy improves..."
That's assuming that the economy is going to improve. There is no evidence that this will occur.

@irvingklaw57 I think they're very colorful and well done, but 25-35 dollars would be more than enough.
