Yes, I can make a 1080p video for the Zi8. But it won't be much different from the 720p version. Actually, it would be a bit choppier as the 1080p only runs at 30 frames per second, whereas the 720p in this video ran at 60 frames per second. Whenever I record using the Zi8 (which is seldom, now that I have my Canon HF R-10) I only use the 720p mode at 60fps.
If you want to see how the 1080p looks on it, just imagine this quality, but at a lower frame rate.
@AndrewDeLong So basically, what is the diffrence between 720p and 1080p quality? Is it just a diffrent resolution or is it also a diffrence on the video color and audio, as I don't siim to notice any other difference than that when watching videos in both of this two resolutions. Thanks in advance for explanation. :)
The difference between 720p & 1080p is resolution, yes. But with lower end cameras like this one, the difference is barely noticeable. This, in part, is due to the build of the camera itself, & is also due to the screen you watch the video on. Normal 1080p screens won't show you much difference between 720p & 1080p. If you were to compare 2K or 4K footage (on a 2K monitor) to 720p, you'd notice a HUGE difference. 2K, btw, is 2048 X 1556 & 4K is 4096 X 2160, 1080 is 1920 X 1080.
The colors in the different resolutions are pretty much the same, the only difference being (if you can even notice it) the finer details, such as shadowing, hue, tint, and the like.
As for the audio, it is completely different, and has nothing to do with resolution....directly anyway. For this camera, the audio is the same no matter what mode you're shooting in. I can't speak for other cameras, but I would assume that it's pretty much the same deal for them too.
Two questions on this one, because I see it is available from my credit card rewards, so I may grab it as the prize. #1 - does it have a screw-mount for a tripod? #2 - does it have any internal memory, or is it all SD card stuff?
Q2. It has SOME internal memory, but it works mainly through SD cards...meaning it can take either regular SD cards, or High Capacity SD cards (4-32 GB)
does the zi6 have an external mic plug-in??

@nickJeen Sadly, no, the Zi6 does not have an external mic plug-in, and the on board mic isn't all that great either.

Can you make video with 1080p with kodak zi8? :) I'd like to see how does it look! :)

@AndrewDeLong Aha, ok. Thanks for answering. Respect! =)

Just a quick reminder that there's not much point in filming in 60fps for YouTube.
The maximum frame-rate youtube support is 30fps :)

@AstraVex
Yeah, I found that out shortly after I uploaded it. Still, it feels like the light capture works better at 60fps.

Best comparison I seen thanks.

No Problem. I plan on doing a comparison between the Zi8 and the Kodak Play Touch (Zi10) next. I just have to buy the thing first.

Q1. Yes, it has the standard tripod screw-mount
Q2. It has SOME internal memory, but it works mainly through SD cards...meaning it can take either regular SD cards, or High Capacity SD cards (4-32 GB)
