LOL! that was cute. I'm looking for the ebay ad with the song "Daydream Believer". Its an ebay ad with a montage of people with their 'IT' products from ebay with the song Daydream Believer in the background. I liked that one.
My 76 year old mother was an extra in this commercial. It took two days of shooting and they had to keep moving the "crowd" to different spots to make the stadium look full. She was waving a floppy hat that you can just see at the finish line scene. I think she might have to start watching out for the paparazzi. LMAO. She had a lot of fun anyway. Not a bad gig for a 76 year old.
The gal in the Rascal scooter is about her age and works weekly on a new movie, commercial or event. Tell mom to keep at it! Everyone is a 'type' and ALL types are needed in this industry. Sincerely, The Winning Cowboy
Your reaction, when you fiddle with the radio at the kitchen table is classic. Great commercial, and having worked on film shoots before, I can understand how the long hours can lead to frustration...
It was quite an amusing analogy like the other Ebay commercial with the prize "football" caught in the endzone. Why would anyone be insulted by a fairly accurate depiction. Auctions are competitions like the sports portrayed. It was adorable and well acted by all.
The cowboy that won was such a hot-tempered-whiny-Diva on set. He had one of the biggest hissy-fits I've seen. I thought he was gonna walk off the job.
Howdy & Hello Pardner: Sorry you were unable to see the whole picture. Two days in the sun running behind a camera truck spewing exhaust, hitting my head on the low starting gate & negative comments about how I dealt with the day all added up to a blow-up. Hot-tempered redheads aren't always angels.
Dear A.R.; So very sorry you were unable to see what took place. We all spent two days in the sun running behind a camera truck spewing exhaust. The starting gate was 4 ft. tall so hitting my head on the low metal rod plus negative comments about how I dealt with the day led to a blow-up. We redheads aren't always angels.
Eight morons running after a knock off fake. Yeah, pretty much sums up what ebay has for sale these days. Immitation garbage by thieves. The radio was probably stolen from the old lady in the cart.
Try commenting on the ad as opposed to Greyhound racing and perhaps your opinion might carry some weight. As it stands, you're nothing more than a parrot for those who spread lies and use pictures 20 years old to further their agenda. Keep it up and in 20 years, there won't be any greyhounds as we know them.
love the ebayer/dog analogy... retired racing dogs are dumped when they don't "win" anymore, falls right in line with your new Seller Non Performance policy... if you aren't perfect, you die.
another stupid idea from eBay management. seriously doubt that the eBay execs who think up these dumb ideas ever use eBay. yes, it is a really insulting way to portray buyers. personally, I always snipe, so I'm not even portrayed in the vid.
Great idea though. Ebay is almost become a necessity for certain people that they know they won't alienate them to the point they won't use their products.
This new one shows those newbies that look you race to get random stuff and WIN! If I saw it and never been on ebay, I would be attracted to it because it is different and makes it fun. You can always market capitalism as fun no matter how insulted your country gets.
eBay, why would you DO this? Why would you want to portray buyers this way? I can't imagine being an eBay buyer and not feeling at least a little insulted by this commercial. I'm not even going near how you portrayed the diabled person. Wow. Bad eBay. Bad!
You read a lot into my little paragraph that really isn't there. It isn't what the actors in the ad look like, it's how eBay is portraying buyers and disabled people in the commercial.
No one was intended to be depicted as disabled or handicapped in the shoot. The elderly lady was asked if she would ride the Pink Rascal for humor & to show people of all ages & capabilities are getting out there in the race.
It's hilarious 'cuz when they asked her if she could ride a scooter, she thought they meant one of those 1950 models that you stand & push off with your foot! She was nervous about driving it since she'd never been on one before. Great gal - we've become good friends. And look for new editions of this as there's alot of footage ya'll haven't seen yet. Cowboy 'Bob'
Cool! I sure hope they are paying her residuals. If not, contact AFTRA union and ask them about getting her a Taft-Hartley form. They'll know what you are talking about. HM, working on TV spots since 1981
Is eBay implying that if you can't walk, you're left behind? And what's with the one black person and a bunch of white people? I would think any marketing agency would diversify more then this. Another Meg Whitman blunder. Save your ad money and work on your security. The guy was lucky to get his radio at all and in once piece.
