Ahahaha! I was just on facebook and a friend had 'liked' Abes Odyssey for the Playstation and my mind started wondering. I can' believe I came across this.. This brings back so many memories. I played this game over and over.
god damn this was an amazing game, it was solid though. the music, the sounds, everything is still amazing! such a great game. Unfortunately i never got any further than the bit with the Alchemists lab, around 1:21:48, i remember playing it when i was really young and having to use hints in the game which i think were very limited. But the hints were so cryptic. I actually dismantled the text in the game just so i could read through the hints without using any in game and it still didnt help lol
Really awesome game, I don' t follow the story entirely tough. The beginning seems very out of the blue, and why does his size keep changing? Why did it start to change in the first place anyway? Btw, the PC version also had dialog audio and a few other gimmicks, too bad I threw away the CD. :((((
my favorite Amiga point and click ever! :-) i still play this and get to the chess board level and forget what to do! in the PC version there are clouds and stones hailing down but the music on the Amiga is priceless :-) i love it! thanks for the upload!
@recallUK82 A1200, because it came with 2mb chip ram (the A500 had 512mb), it had an 68020 processor running at 14mhz (the A500 was a 68000 at 7mhz), it also had AGA graphics which meant 256000 colours on screen at once from a palette of 16million with resolutions up to 1280x512 (A500 max resolution was 640x512 with 4096 colours), and comes with a PCMCIA instead of IDE slot. The sound is the same on both machines. You can upgrade A1200 with an 060 with 64mb fast ram too
@nicholasthetaylor I know its an innocent mistake that you made, but just for the person in question, it was 512kb of chip ram on the A500 (you wrote mb not kb ) and 1mb of chip ram on the A500+.
holyshit like, how the fuck youre soposed to know that you can actually break Deaths scythe? this is like the most impossible game ever lol

Is it just me, or does the music in this game sound like the music in Banjo Kazooie?

Wow, this could have been so much easier if I knew English back when I was playing it..
I spent weeks playing this game.

This was an awesome puzzle game. Shame it was so buggy. It froze pretty often, and savegame had a tendency to get corrupted. :/

Hopefully you can track down the PC version of this: the superior sound makes quite a difference in the music.

Good old days.
Used to play this on my A1200
Still got the original disks and the groovy copy protection colour chart.
Still got the amiga too which still works.
This is one of the few games which I remember the walkthrough from start to finish.
Imo this is the best goblins game, followed by goblins 2, then 1. 4 should never have been made it's an abomination to this classic game.

So this explains why the DOS-version showed a yellow Chump at the last screen! Didn't understand that until now (DOS-version Chump is green).
But the PC-version > this one, in my opinion. I kinda miss the better/more soundtracks and the hilarious cutscenes.

Ah ha, I too had wondered about the occasional yellow Chump in the dos edition. Now I see that I do not need to say so. And yet I have, anyway.
