I agree with you completely. However, Bush is also insane, he also has no idea what he is talking about and he is also an embarrassment and shame to his great nation; United States of America.
J N Andrew was the best speaker we ever had, although I heard Leo Mackay was even better?? I don't remember much about Leo, but Neil Andrew was a really funny speaker
Lol! Our Family First party is more to the left than current democrats in the United States. Our political spectrum is completely different, and even if it were not - it wouldn't happen. Because the Liberal party (like Labor might I add) actually has a bit of respect for the process. Its the Greens I have a problem with.
@Griffinltd More to the left than the Democrats? You clearly don't understand what you're talking about. Yes, our spectrum is different, but to suggest that the bible-bashing, homophobic, Young Earth Creationists are further left than the Democrats is simply untrue.
The speaker kicked her out because President Bush also has a right to free speech, and not to be interrupted. She's leftist scum who thinks that David Hicks, who openly admits to training with Al Qaeda and practicing extremist Islam, should be welcomed back in Australia as a hero.
@Griffinltd I agree that she should have been kicked out, the President had the call.
And no where did she claim he should be welcomed back as a hero. The simple fact is that he's an Australian citizen. So you can try and skew it however you want, to push your anti-Left agenda, but your use of the tired old "leftist scum" cliche shows that you are nothing more than a shill who spouts populist rhetoric.
I just did a year’s exchange in the States and I'm telling, you're the one who has no idea what you're talking about. The entire political spectrum took a massive shift to the right under Bush - everyone over there knows it. Bible-bashing, homophobic and young earth - nice slanderous material, you know that doesn't represent the right - anymore than socialism represents the left.
@Griffinltd I'm not freaking arguing that our spectrum is different, but to suggest that Family First is further left than the Democrats is just plain wrong. And Bible-Bashing, Homophobia and YEC certainly isn't representative of the Right. But those who practice it are almost exclusively of the Right.
Appealing to your own logic - I hope you don't mind my calling you a socialst, high-school drop out hippie that enjoys collecting centrelink benefits and complaining because people make more money than you.
@Griffinltd No, you are wilfully ignoring what I'm saying. I am saying that those things are NOT representative of the Right. But, people that do espouse those things are generally from the Right. It can work both ways. A cow can be brown, but a brown animals isn't automatically a cow.
Face it, you made a ridiculous statement about FF (whose one former Senator is indeed a YEC/Homophobe) being further left than the Democrats. Now you're throwing up the smoke screen through wilful ignorance.
And, for the record, I'm not a socialist, I finished high-school very successfully at a prestigious private school, and I work 5 days a week, and I'm very happy for people to make more than me.
AND I HOPE ALL YOU GREEN GAY EXTREMIST FUCKS AND LABOR SUPPORTERS WHO BOUGHT KEVIN DUDD 747 4 YEARS AGO ARE THE FIRST TO STARVE TO DEATH! STICK YOUR CLIMATE CHANGE CRAP BACK UP YOUR FILTHY ASSES!!! BECAUSE THIS COUNTRY IS OWNED INTERNATIONALLY AND WE'RE ON OUR WAY OUT! AUSTRALIA THE FUCKIN DUMBASS COUNTRY!!!!
@MrSystematica You dont have to be ashamed your like alot of other people in Australia who wouldnt know their elbow from their ass, rest assured you have plenty of company and thats why Australia is now lost. I dont know how old you are and what your parents, and peers think, but im guessing you have been brainwashed like all Labor Greens voters, and also you'll believe anything that comes out of the fat asses of Karen Middleton, Laurie Oakes, and all the other lying media wankers in Australia
@MrSystematica I have no sympathy for your type because your probably out there listening to your shithouse music and partying in your little Sex and the City Social life scene on your mobile phone, whilest Gillard is turning Australia into and irreversable 3rd world country. You will face the day with the rest of Australia when you walk in to the Supermarket and the shelves are empty like they are in Zimbabwe
As for the David Hicks saga, she campaigned that he should be brought home without charge. Being an Australian citizen doesn't grant you immunity when you're caught sympathising and training with our enemy. Might I remind this was also at a time when the District and Appellant Court in the United States ruled that practices at Guantanamo Bay were perfectly legal. But hey, fuck the laws of a sovereign country - he’s and Australian citizen! (Also a traitor)
@Griffinltd Well she clearly didn't agree with that courts decision, which is her right to do (despite it not being an Australian court). Once again, I'm not actually disagreeing with him being imprisoned. Personally, I'd prefer him to have been charged in Australia. The man was an idiot, and probably could've been charged with treason here. But you said that she wanted him to return home as a "hero". That is simply not true.
I understand your point perfectly well, we just disagree on the substance of the argument. Perhaps from a "socially conservative" point of view it is an exaggeration to say that FF is further to the left than democrats in the United States. Monetarist policies, probably the most important aspect of being on the Left or Right at the moment - FF is not even close to the Friedman lassie fair economics pervasive on both sides of politics in the US at the moment.
This is really just detracting from what was my original point. I think the Family First party has more respect for the political institution than the Greens, and it is incorrect to suggest they would interrupt Obama. I think the Greens are exploiting our democracy and being hypocrites in the process - right or wrong, it’s just leading to my frustration about everything they do. But that's an entirely other argument to be had.
I'd say I'm a Lefty by your definition. And I look forward to the Carbon Price being introduced, for two reasons:
1. It's a good policy.
2. The embarrassment it'll cause idiots like when you realise that the sky hasn't fallen in.

@britishguitar Gee theres 2 really good reasons to fuck the country over, NOT ! 1.Its not a policy its an excuse to ensure a surplus. 2. The sky wont fall in, you will just simply have less money for no result
(cont...) populist economics: In other words, the idea that a surplus makes you a genius and a deficit makes you dangerous. Additionally, the quasi-science of observing interest rates as the SOLE indicator of a government's performance, as well as the economies health.
I've read all that you've posted, and it's just drivel. You have no facts to back up what you say, just hatred for anything other than the LNP.

@MsTsarbomba so i ask you- what should be done then? bring back the white australia policy? try and get that policy into law, the people would throw you out on the streets. Besides how about you lodge a complaint to the UN- they set minimum numbers of immigrants to come into this country.

@MsTsarbomba What the fuck are you high on? Yeah caps lock totally works... You're anger totally shines through the internet... Go get a fucking life and if YOU think you can do better, get into parliament in the first place. Bloody Liberal lover. You do know Abbott only opposes the carbon tax because the Libs get funded by mining companies right? You're getting fucking brainwashed.
@GuidoSalami As opposed to what? The inept idiots of the United States impeaching the best president since J.F.K. and voting in Bush? LOL And we're the retards? XD
@Kephissos who the fuck are you? "inept idiots" you must watch a LOT of tv; the intelligent and INCREDIBLY EFFECTIVE Americans wouldn't ever use television as a forum;
Im as aussie as they come and i think Bush was the best President ive seen in the US since JFK. His country was attacked during his administration He reacted to an act of terrorisim with balls.
He showed the terrorists of the world that if they want to spread terror and fear to America and its Allies then they could exept nothing else but Extream ruthless and powerfull warfare. Bush showed the world the correct way to deal with terrorists. You fuck with my country ima come fuck with yours
@AussieRedneck09 Rubbish. Bush gave the terrorists two enduring recruitment tools in the form of Afghanistan and Iraq. Via the "Patriot" Act he took away many of the freedoms the terrorists were fighting against.
The terrorists couldn't have hoped for a more helpful reaction. Bush was their useful idiot.
Typical immature Greens behavior. They're not about governing...they're all about making a "statement." Luckily for them, they're never actually going to be in power so they can afford to pontificate and criticise (both sides) from the sidelines.
They were perfectly happy to bury their heads in the sand on the issue of terrorism (from Afghanistan) and the risks that dictators who were trying to acquire WMDs posed (in Iraq). And don't get me started on their fear campaign against nuclear power
it's ashame that they've removed those people speaking out against bush. I dont think bush would actually last long if he was challenged whilst having the bench just like all the other mps.
Whatever you may have thought about George Bush, our Congress would NEVER show such blatant disrespect while a foreign dignitary was speaking. It speaks poorly of your parliament. There is a time to protest and a time to restrain oneself.
Um it's called freedom of expression mate, something u yanks dont know about. But in parliament that is pretty much allowed, not like your congress of where one person is speaking out infront of thousands of people like a dictator. We have the westminister system mate and in a democracy anyone can express their feelings through their opinions. which also includes mp's, so rightly they were entitled to speak out against bush.
First of all, I don't know you so we are not "mates." How you arrived at the conclusion that because one person speaks and everyone is respectful enough to hear what he/she has to say is like a dictatorship is beyond logic. You are correct that people are allowed to speak their opinions in a democracy, but even in a democracy there are occasions and forums that require that we show respect for an office if nothing else. Believe me, our Congress speaks against the President and so do we.
First of all mate, your congress dont exactly stage an open debate unlike our parliament does. Secondly your government tends to control censorship on various speeches and other media wise things. Thirdly george w bush was a loathesome man hated by all. So the group had every right to interrupt his speech. Democracy wouldnt exist if there werent any freedom of expression mate and that's a fact.
I have no idea where you get the notion that our government censors speeches and other media. We have the most open, free press in the world, and is guaranteed in the first amendment in our constitution. Your country was still a colony of Great Britain where GB sent its prisoners and others thugs when we were already practicing free speech and freedom of the press.
most open free press in the world?...that's ironic you would say that because your country is getting sore over a kfc ad. Which u people are still accusing us of afro american stereotyping. Another thing mate, yes we were a colony of Great Britain but we didnt enslave african people on such a grand scale, so much for america's freedom. And lastly your media happens to be the most ill formed and misleading organisation in the world. the bbc shits all over ur media coverage mate.
@AtchafalayaKid and your country is not a piece of shit with shit healthcare and shit education not to mention an ruined economy thanks to that swine Bush. Have fun getting out of trillion dollar debts. You wasted all your surplus on huge tax cuts and wars which were nothing more than lies in order to control oil
You also make the generalization that George W. Bushwas hated by all. Not so, and to be quite frank with you, I and many Americans could care less what you and others around the world think of our President. We elect our President to make us happy, not to make the world happy. Get it, mate?
Not so?....come off it mate there were millions of americans who disliked george w bush intensely (and u know that). They even protested against bush's move to invade iraq. And to be frank with you mate... u obviously do care about what the world thinks of bush. ur last sentence pretty much indicates that, seeing ur buttons have been pushed.
@anonleft Bush was complimenting the Australian parliment.
WHOS Sucking up? we are FRiends like it or not. & yeah if she didnt interupt she might have been givin a chance. You don't go & try to yell over the president.
or anyone speaking. once again he handled it well & Doesn't get mad, thats what alot of bush haters Hate. TOUGH.
@MrMattias87 Because he was talking about what a good friend John howard is!
and complimenting Australia. most hated man in the world? LOL! theres many more who are & also Most World leaders agree & are Fighting Terrorism, some Retards don't think exsists. LOOK! at Pakistan NO us troops BUT suicide Bombings have happened many times.
@Raymasaki Actually it is because if you spoke out against somebody in the middle of their speech in protest then you are having your say and you are also expressing yourself. And in this case it was george w bush that was being protested against in parliament. Simply because he is the most hated man in the world. freedom of expression and freedom of speech is basically the same.
if politicians, be it american or australian cant handle other people's reactions (especially mp's) about their policies, then they shouldnt be a politician at all. they should harden the fuck up as goes the wise words of mark chopper read.
@AtchafalayaKid Our Parliament works very differently to your Congress, though i do aggree with you 100%, i dont think it is good to compare. Our Parliament has lots of debate and yelling, its how it works. But your congress is a lot more civial. Both in my judgement are effective.
god.. i love those senators... regardless of who HE is, just because we are an ally of the United States, doesn't mean we cannot make our own standing point. I am glad at least they had the courage to make their stance, at least they had some guts, rather than just kissing the arse of the President.
Well I didn't like George Bush then but I was probably too much of a Leftie at the time...i can think more critically now. Mind you, I don't think the War in Iraq achieved much, but at least we got more oil now to keep us going for the next half a century at least.
true but the diggers didnt do any fighting in iraq even though howard said that we're going in because saddam has weapons of mass destruction. All our troops did was train up the iraqi security forces....that's it really.
Yeah it doesn't matter. We still got their blood on our hands because we are using their oil, every time i get on a plane I thank the Iraqis spirits for being killed so I can fly around my country to pursue jobs, romance, and have a true life. Too bad about the next generation when all the oil runs out though.
The Liberal Party need to calm down. Jesus Christ, did you see the front bench? They looked like a bunch of children. And John Howard, Jesus, did he just jizz in his pants?
I agree with Mark Latham on this very topic, "they're a conga line of suck holes."
Senator Nettle and Senator Brown are an absolute DISGRACE and EMBARRASSMENT to Australia and shall hang their heads in SHAME!!! They should have been banned from Parliament permanently. Thank their lucky stars Mr Bush loves free speech, and that they live in a democracy. Anywhere else and they would have been shot. Those greenies abuse their privileges and don't know when they're well-off. They should step back and think about how lucky they are.
I hate Bush as much as the next centre-lefty, but that was a safe and clever comeback. He was always pretty good at that.

"I love free speech" as the critic is shut up and bundled from the room.
Uh, yeah.
anonleft 1 year ago 2
The concept of free speech is that you can say what you want without being persecuted.
She said what she wanted to and nothing happened but being forced from the room. Do that in many other countries and you could be jailed.

MrMattias87 2 years ago
@MrMattias87
Whatever you may have thought about George Bush, our Congress would NEVER show such blatant disrespect while a foreign dignitary was speaking. It speaks poorly of your parliament. There is a time to protest and a time to restrain oneself.
AtchafalayaKid 2 years ago
Um it's called freedom of expression mate, something u yanks dont know about. But in parliament that is pretty much allowed, not like your congress of where one person is speaking out infront of thousands of people like a dictator. We have the westminister system mate and in a democracy anyone can express their feelings through their opinions. which also includes mp's, so rightly they were entitled to speak out against bush.
MrMattias87 2 years ago
First of all, I don't know you so we are not "mates." How you arrived at the conclusion that because one person speaks and everyone is respectful enough to hear what he/she has to say is like a dictatorship is beyond logic. You are correct that people are allowed to speak their opinions in a democracy, but even in a democracy there are occasions and forums that require that we show respect for an office if nothing else. Believe me, our Congress speaks against the President and so do we.
AtchafalayaKid 2 years ago
This has been flagged as spam show
First of all mate, your congress dont exactly stage an open debate unlike our parliament does. Secondly your government tends to control censorship on various speeches and other media wise things. Thirdly george w bush was a loathesome man hated by all. So the group had every right to interrupt his speech. Democracy wouldnt exist if there werent any freedom of expression mate and that's a fact.
MrMattias87 2 years ago 15
I have no idea where you get the notion that our government censors speeches and other media. We have the most open, free press in the world, and is guaranteed in the first amendment in our constitution. Your country was still a colony of Great Britain where GB sent its prisoners and others thugs when we were already practicing free speech and freedom of the press.
AtchafalayaKid 2 years ago
most open free press in the world?...that's ironic you would say that because your country is getting sore over a kfc ad.
MrMattias87 2 years ago
@AtchafalayaKid and your country is not a piece of shit with shit healthcare and shit education not to mention an ruined economy thanks to that swine Bush. Have fun getting out of trillion dollar debts. You wasted all your surplus on huge tax cuts and wars which were nothing more than lies in order to control oil
EndorphineT78 1 year ago
You also make the generalization that George W. Bushwas hated by all. Not so, and to be quite frank with you, I and many Americans could care less what you and others around the world think of our President. We elect our President to make us happy, not to make the world happy. Get it, mate?
AtchafalayaKid 2 years ago
Not so?....come off it mate there were millions of americans who disliked george w bush intensely (and u know that). They even protested against bush's move to invade iraq. And to be frank with you mate... u obviously do care about what the world thinks of bush. ur last sentence pretty much indicates that, seeing ur buttons have been pushed.

or anyone speaking. once again he handled it well & Doesn't get mad, thats what alot of bush haters Hate. TOUGH.
Raymasaki 1 year ago
@Raymasaki then again bush is not president of australia is he?...so why not interrupt him in protest. It is freedom of expression afterall
MrMattias87 1 year ago
@MrMattias87 Because he was talking about what a good friend John howard is!
and complimenting Australia. most hated man in the world? LOL! theres many more who are & also Most World leaders agree & are Fighting Terrorism, some Retards don't think exsists. LOOK! at Pakistan NO us troops BUT suicide Bombings have happened many times.
Raymasaki 1 year ago
@Raymasaki Actually it is because if you spoke out against somebody in the middle of their speech in protest then you are having your say and you are also expressing yourself. And in this case it was george w bush that was being protested against in parliament. Simply because he is the most hated man in the world. freedom of expression and freedom of speech is basically the same.
MrMattias87 1 year ago
@MrMattias87 go to your local News station & TRY Jumping in from of the camera saying Im have something to say! & watch your ass get Thrown OUT!
& then youll cry "NO Freedom of speech"? same thing would have happened IF John was speaking

if politicians, be it american or australian cant handle other people's reactions (especially mp's) about their policies, then they shouldnt be a politician at all. they should harden the fuck up as goes the wise words of mark chopper read.

JepJep92 2 years ago
well that's pretty much part of the westminister system mate. Freedom of expression, something the yanks dont know about
MrMattias87 2 years ago
Well I didn't like George Bush then but I was probably too much of a Leftie at the time...i can think more critically now. Mind you, I don't think the War in Iraq achieved much, but at least we got more oil now to keep us going for the next half a century at least.
Stephen19852009 2 years ago
true but the diggers didnt do any fighting in iraq even though howard said that we're going in because saddam has weapons of mass destruction. All our troops did was train up the iraqi security forces....that's it really.
MrMattias87 2 years ago
Yeah it doesn't matter. We still got their blood on our hands because we are using their oil, every time i get on a plane I thank the Iraqis spirits for being killed so I can fly around my country to pursue jobs, romance, and have a true life. Too bad about the next generation when all the oil runs out though.
Stephen19852009 2 years ago

Senator Nettle and Senator Brown are an absolute DISGRACE and EMBARRASSMENT to Australia and shall hang their heads in SHAME!!! They should have been banned from Parliament permanently. Thank their lucky stars Mr Bush loves free speech, and that they live in a democracy. Anywhere else and they would have been shot.
