i wish a taurus x owner would put up a video of it doing a 0-60 or just driving....i like this car a lot....its no lexus, but its great for middle-lower class people
@EvilViolator124 if you were paying attention you would know that it isn't. The Freestyle was a pile of junk. The Taurus X is not. I test drove a Freestyle and ended up not buying the car. I test drove a Taurus X 3 years ago and I bought it. It is a huge improvement over the car it replaced. Ford is coming back. And I'm surprised.
@PIchillin456 The Taurus X just wasn't much different or much of an improvement over the Freestyle, which was an excellent car itself. Freestyle suspension tuning was actually better than the X's, and the CVT is cool. The X has a better engine.
@LieKiller The interior got a major upgrade on the Taurus X. The Quality just wasn't there in the Freestyle-a major turnoff for me. The other thing was the CVT. I've never driven a car with a CVT that I liked and I've worked for many car dealerships. I just don't like CVT's-also a major turnoff. Styling was similar granted but the Taurus X looks classier. In my opinion the Taurus X is a major upgrade despite what people seem to think. Never worked for Ford by the way.
@PIchillin456 The interiors are essentially identical. The biggest difference was that the X got the two tone interior with darker lower panels...other than that, same dash, same door panels, etc.
The CVT is my favorite thing about the Freestyle, once you get used to it regular autos seems archaic and pointless by comparison. The Freesrtyle CVT was honestly the best CVT I've driven yet, the Nissans I've driven don't really compare.
@LieKiller I'm still open to trying out CVT's but the CVT in the 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid that I drove was a bit annoying and I know what you mean about those Nissan CVT's. I'm actually currently working for a Nissan dealership and I can't stand the CVT transmissions. The only Nissan CVT that I like is the one in the Cube. For some reason it just works well and I actually enjoy driving it. The Sentra and the Altima on the other hand are not enjoyable only because of the CVT.
What are they thinking with that new grill? Someone in the office must've been like,
"So, all our competitors have holes in the front of the car and I notice that our do too. I was thinking that instead, we should have a gigantic chunk of chrome with a couple tiny little slits in it. That way we can still make it look like the engine isn't getting enough air, while making it look too brash and glitzy for anyone to really like."
"Boy, call it done, and you're getting a six-digit bonus for this!"
bought our taurux x 6 months ago and LOVE this car....great for our family of 5...beautiful drive in city and long distance....
ONLY problem - with rear window down, loud vibration and because of the slant of the window - had to purchase window guards, as rain and snow will drip directly into the car, when windows are down....

This Ford Taurus X is nice, but since Ford released the Flex, will it replace this vehicle?
DaminoLordXL 2 years ago
