With that type of terrain there is no reason they needed 4wd to pull out the tahoe in the first place. If the Nissan (as bad as those trucks are) was facing the other way and had a longer strap so he could build momentum the force of that alone should have been enough to jerk the tahoe out of the rut.

First, the Tahoe was trapped and the bottom floor of the Tahoe touched the ground. You can see the back tiers spins in air without any kind of friction. So they needed 2 things: 1- longer recovery straps so the Titan can gain momentum when going on reverse. 2 a brave driver who can do it once not 5 times. In a nutshell, if I was there I would solved the problem. :)
